Boyzone star Stephen Gately dies

I was incredibly shocked when I heard this morning.

I was never a Boyzone fan, but I had a lot of respect for them. They all seem like such lovely, down to earth men. Regardless of their past differences, they managed to build their freindships again and it just shows how mature they are.

The news is terrible and my thoughts are with Stephen's husband, his family and everyone else around him. 33 is such a young age, too.

It was said on the news this morning that Stephen Gately's Facebook account was flooded with R.I.P.s as was his other socializing accounts. My sympathy goes to his family, his friends, and his band-mates in Boyzone. :(

It has been reported that the post mortem will take place on tuesday.

I read the news on the bottom of a menu at my local restaurant. It said "RIP Stephen Gately" and I thought it was some weird joke. Very sad that someone so young should die. Most reports I've read have ruled out drugs.

I can't say I was a fan. The only song of theirs I even remember was No Matter What, and I don't remember much about the group apart from Roman, who I was a fan of during his solo career.

Nevertheless, this is a shocking tragedy. RIP Stephen.
