The only reason Ruth has run her course is because TPTB don't use her charecter for much nowadays. She is only seen as a guardian for Ryder and a teacher for Summer Bay High. If the writers would give her a partner, update/return of Martha or even a return of her former husband Frank Morgan. We would then see Georgie Parker back in action!

The problem is the shine and novelty of long serving charecters often wear off after several years on screen. But it's solely up to TPTB to evolve these charecters and get more creative with storylines.

So I personally think Ruth as a charecter and Georgie as an actress have not yet run their course as their is so much potential!

But even if they do bring back her daughter Martha, she will be in the spotlight for about 10 minutes either Martha will leave again after the guest role or even if Martha did return as regular and once Martha settled back into the Bay and then she'd just be Martha's listening ear with Martha's latest love drama.

As for bringing in a new husband or even bringing back Frank then it just becomes like it was with Roo and Harvey became the couple in the background and eventually her husband would either leave in a box or by leaving the Summer Bay sign whether by choice or inside a Police van.

By no means saying I want Roo to leave but just saying I think there’s better stories for Roo as an individual.

I'd like Roo to get a new foster child as Roo bonding so well with Maddy.

Hope one day they given Roo some more meaty storyline’s as they seemed to want keep her character clean as her father for some reason.

I think Georgie Parker having time off for plays in her contract and her spinal issues has stopped them making her more central.
