See classic characters again like Pippa, Ailsa, Floss, Celia, Carly, Bobby, Roo and Sally.

And great storylines like Carly's rape, Bobby finding out about her parents, Ailsa secret, Lynn leaving.

Just to reiterate what Ryan said, all episode summaries for the Early Years of the show are on the main site. If Seven decide to commit to showing these for many years then I'm sure all our episode summaries will be up by then :P

We will indeed be introducing a weekly discussion in here, similar to the current Australian episodes discussion.

Though given that they're showing Pilot-Episode 3 in their first week of airing (just to be awkward), the format may be slightly different so that it matches up to the proper block numbers

i.e.

Week 1 Discussion (Pilot, 1-5),

Week 2 Discussion (6-10)

etc.

Dammit! Why didn't they just continue on from the last ep they screened of the early years when it used to be on Seven in the afternoon? Now I'm gonna have to wait what 6 years till my fave era? :(

Awww, I'm jealous.I remember when they advertised Home and Away:The Early Years over here and it turned out to be Home and Away:The Channel 5 Years.I don't think any UK broadcaster has actually got the rights to the early years so chances of us seeing them are round about zilch.

I know it would have been great for them to have started at that point (1990 season), as the 80's are kinda still fresh after last time & we have access to a lot of key episodes from that era now- however; I am not complaining at all especially if 7 are going to be committed to this re-run, I'm looking forward to following from the start again!

I read this recently, the UK showed The Early Years for real on the Living TV station from 98-01, then they skipped 5 years and went straight to the 1996 season and then I think another cable channel took over and continued showing them up until the 1999 season around 2003/2004.

I think at some point the UK will show them again, when is the question. But what with Aus showing them, maybe the contract issues have been resolved finally?

I had a fairly lively correspondence when Channel 5 started showing repeats:They said the rights to the early episodes weren't available, I contacted ITV and they said they didn't hold them anymore, so I went back to Channel 5 and they said the rights had reverted to "the original holder" and they didn't have any interest in acquiring them. Not sure where Living fit in but I don't receive that anyway.
