Posy Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 As UK pace is currently 6 weeks behind Australian pace, and Australia are taking a long break from the end of November, it seems logical that there will be break of some sort over Christmas in the UK.
Slade Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 ^^Last year the UK didn’t take a break over Christmas at all and when the show resumed in January we were only two weeks behind Aus and remained so until the beginning of August. I’m expecting the same will happen this time around.
Posy Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Actually the UK took a 2 week break over last Christmas. Last episode before Christmas was Friday 19th December. First episode back was Monday 5th January. As the UK stopped after and started back before Australia, we were catching up with Australian pace during December and the first part of January. When Australia started again we were only 2 weeks behind. We lost another 4 weeks with our August break.

Dan F Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Five will be taking the show off air for 3 weeks from 21st December to 11th January. Five's last episode for 2009 will be 4980, which aired in Oz last Friday. As for whether they'll be showing any specials, they won't be scheduling those for another few weeks yet. I haven't checked up on H&A's return date in Oz, but if its the 11th Jan then the UK will have caught up by 3 weeks - if its 18th Jan then the UK will be back to 2 weeks behind Oz airing.
SummerBayLocal Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 There is no way that Home and Away will return that early Dan. So I'd expect it to be on the 18th of January. It is around the same date that it has returned every year. Probably the same return date for Neighbours too.
