I can't believe the attitude of some people on this thread - "if he wants to take drugs he can!". NO HE CAN'T!!!! How can anyone approve of that kind of illegal activity? Does nobody realise where money used to buy drugs goes to? It goes to people who commit murders and force women and children into prostitution. Todd physically taking cocaine isn't the problem (if he's enough of an idiot to do that, God help him), it's where his money went to that is the problem. I'm so glad Perez Hilton picked up this story, because now people in America will know all about it, and hopefully nobody will give Todd a chance over there if he even gets into the country. He's a moron and that is what he deserves.

HERE HERE! finally, someone speaking some sense. Don't get me wrong, Todd the actor - I LOVE! there is no denying he's talented but drugs are illegal for a reason. and he can't think he is above it. While I would hate to see his career ruined by this, at the same time, I don't know how I would feel if he got away scott free with it. Who knows if he would think he could do it again, or if it would make people think they could get away with it. people who are saying it's up to him what he does would not be saying that if he did something like get behind the wheel of a car under the influence. obviously thats not the point because he didn't but drugs make you do stupid things sometimes and anything like that can happen.

Im actually really shocked!! :( Okay, Todd is young, he wants to have a good time partying with his mates.. but drugs? Seriously? Its abit disappointing, especially with the whole Belle/Liam/Aden drug storyline. Didnt all 3 of them meet people who previously were addicted to drugs? But, hey! Its his life :) I still think he's a really nice guy and an awesome actor! xD

I am sympathetic to Todd as I always am to people who get themselves into trouble by bad decisions they make for themselves. After all we all make bad decisions. However that sympathy does not extend to wanting him protected from the consequences of his actions. At the end of the day the only way we learn life's lessons is from contact with the consequences of our actions. And he needs to learn.

When people keep saying he is young, he's 24. Thats old enough to know better. And old enough to watch the news to know that there is a nation wide blitz on that weekend and use common sense. 24 is young, but he's not 14, he should have known better.

Seven have made a move...

Channel 7 cracks down on bad stars

Partial quote: CHANNEL 7 will enforce a "two strikes and you're out" policy on staff involved in drugs-related behaviour as more details about one of its stars being charged with cocaine possession emerge.

Seven's new rule follows Logie Award-winning actor Todd Lasance's fall from grace at the weekend and fellow former Home and Away actor Jodi Gordon's checking into rehab for alcohol-related issues after a bender in June.

It is believed about 11pm on Saturday a police sniffer dog took interest in the actor and he was allegedly found with cocaine.

Pretty much everywhere I've read, it keeps saying alleged... Has there been actual confirmation on Aus news etc?

Obviously I wouldn't know, not being over there; I did read on a website that his court date was set for 18th Jan - again, not sure if that was stable? :)

Still pretty disappointed with this; and somewhat denial, but as John said, would be more tended towards empathy rather than firing low-belt comments at him like so many sites are. It just doesn't add up :o

Its a legal requirement that all news reports say "alleged" because as currently he hasn't been found guilty through the courts so it is alleged. Thats the only reason it says alleged. So any criminal charge discussed in the media that has yet to have gone to court is stated as alleged. Does that make ssense? So all it means is that Todd in this case hasn't gone to court on these charges yet, hence they are alleged.

His initial court date is for the 18th January, but that appearance will probably just result in him pleading, and then being given a court date at a later date in a large majority of cases. Again, thats just our legal system.

TBH - I don't find it that much of a stretch that he would be doing coke. It highly popular over here, he has quite a bit of disposable income, and also it would be freely available.

There's no doubt he made a bad decision but I'm not about to sit here and condemn him. While I cannot condone his actions and there will be consequences for them, I still wish him well.

To be honest I don't think channel 7 can do an ounce about this as he seems to have already filmed his last scenes. I am hoping it won't impact him going to America but I suppose we'll have to wait and see. If it is widespread the use of drugs in the cast of home and away they really need to try to cut it out as this is a show watched by children and teens and children that see these actors as role models.

For me the role model is thrust open someone who chooses to take that person as a role model - if they subsequently do something that disappoints you- legal or illegal - that's that persons problem for being disappointed by that role model rather than the role model choosing to live his life his way and not the way someone he has probably never ment wanting him to live his life.

However I believe in people having the ability to choose - if they choose to do something illegal, they have to live with the risk that they might be caught. I might not agree with what they are doing, but I believe they should have the choice.
