Mistified Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I'm sad to hear about this - poor Kate.
~Lynd~ Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Sorry but she will only ever be Sally Fletcher! She either needs to go back to H&A or radio - there is no other job suited for her. I think that's a bit rude tbh but whatever.Your opinion. I don't think this has anything to do with her. It's an overused genre and the show has nothing new to give.I only made it halfway into the first episode before I got bored.People don't want to watch things so depressing these days. There's a reason PTTR has been such a big success.
Formerly Known as FKAJ Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I can understand why this one hasn't been a success but I will say I'm a little disappointed. The one thing I really like in it is the mix of uniform officers and detectives, which is pretty rare for a cop show: the only exceptions I can think of are Blue Heelers and The Bill, which I stopped watching long before I knew it had been axed.
MeganSaturday Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Is it available online? I really wanted to see this, I love cop shows!
-Karen- Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I don't think this has anything to do with her. It's an overused genre and the show has nothing new to give.I only made it halfway into the first episode before I got bored.People don't want to watch things so depressing these days. There's a reason PTTR has been such a big success. I've stuck with the whole series so far and I have to say agree. Kate has been one of the best things about the show in my opinion. Infact, the show has some great actors, such as Martin, Gary, Denise, etc. but most of them have been underused. There are only one or two of the main cast (mentioning no names ) who let the show down. They have also had some good guests as well. So to me it doesn't matter how good the cast are - if the show as a whole doen't work then no amount of logie winning actors can save it. However, the main problems are the fact that it's a cop show, which as Lynd said has been done to death, and the storylines and scripts have been poor. Also, a lot of the episodes have had the same old format - a body is found - investigation begins - a few people are interviewed - it looks like they've found the killer - but oh there's a twist - and at the last minute oh there's another twist - mystery solved. The vampire episode with Jess Tovey in a few weeks ago was particularly dire - though nothing to do with Jess herself - just the storyline. It would be a shame for all concerned if the show was to be axed but it would be hard for them to attract viewers to a second series now even if they did overhaul the production team or cast.
