No.But I have seen the first season finale of 'Hamish MacBeth', which features an even more similar scenario and an even less happy outcome.I really do have no original ideas...

I just mentioned the film because of the decision that one of the two climbers had to make. Don't worry about the 'original ideas' problem. Humans stopped having those in the middle cave-man period didn't they ?

As a wise man almost said "To tell a story you need an original idea.It doesn't need to be yours."As someone else almost said "Rewriting other people's stuff was good enough for Shakespeare." The 'Hamish' episode featured a similar decision where someone's fallen off a rock path and is threatening to drag the young woman next in line off after him and it's a question of whether to cut the rope or not.

I hope Jai realizes how selfless Nina is being. Wonder how Annie will react to all this ? Perhaps she'll be as selfless as Nina ?

The film I mentioned was true story, involving the same dilemma - whether to cut the rope. It was 18,000 ft up in the Andes though. What was really interesting was how the 2 climbers involved dealt with it afterward. The one who had to make the decision didn't want anything to do with the film. The other wrote the book that was made into the film. No matter how many times he denied it, and forgave his climbing buddy, it must have been like being on permanent trial for the other guy.

Their trip was about to turn ugly. Thankfully, everyone is okay and nobody got seriously hurt. :)

I'm happy Nina and Jai didn't go all the way. It wouldn't have seemed right. Nina is a clever girl though. :)

I liked Jai and Annie's talk. I wonder what this means for Jai and Nina now.

More please.

I'm glad you've allowed the better aspects of their characters to get them out of that mess of their own creation. I think I made a similar comment, seems like a long time ago now in one of your previous fics, about how good it is that you keep their characters consistent. I still sense a few degrees of impatience in Jai though.

Not sure what Nina expects to happen now between herself and Jai. Neither do I, which is how it should be really.

Thanks for all the work and thought that went into these two fics Red Ranger (and all the other ones I've read.)

Feels like things have come full circle between these two; but displaced to Japan, and out of camera range.

A big thank you to Carina, Barbara and idris, who have commented throughout this fic and really given me the encouragement to keep writing.Thank you to everyone else who's taken time to read it too.
