I for one am glad that Luke was pegged to take over this role from Newton who in my opinion has no place on television right now given what he's been accused of.

If the Aussie version of X Factor is successful, then Luke Jacobz could very well be forced to choose between Home and Away and X Factor, just like Dermot O'Leary had to regarding Big Brother, and he had to give his 1 vs 100 away to Ben Shephard, who has since then went to Sky Sports following his departure from GMTV.

Did anyone catch Yes We Canberra on Wednesday? There was a fake poll in the opening credits asking "Who can best Stabilise our Government?" 13% said Labour, 15% said Coalition, 72% said Luke Jacobz.

Oh boy, not good.

Does it really matter? We'll just have to wait and see.

 I see the Angelo fans are freaking out that he might be leaving so they're trying to convince people he isn't. Good luck to him; he seems to suit more as a presenter than an actor

Angelo fans may be worried but it seems Angelo haters are quick to push the fact they think he wont be able to juggle two things at once! Equally as annoying..

Dermot giving up Big Brother's Little Brother was a bit different, he had to work 6 days a week and carried the show by himself as the presenter. Luke works with an ensemble cast and wouldn't be in every episode and so if writers (and Luke) want to keep Angelo on the show, I am sure they would write the storylines to suit, i.e slow down his story arcs at times where he will be flying out of the country for 2 weeks etc.

Unfortunately for certain celebrities, that can be true. If Luke Jacobz has to go to the auditions, then maybe he'll have to leave; but at least he'll have Home and Away to fall back on, should he fail as X Factor presenter. Luke Jacobz (unlike Jessica Tovey and Paul O'Brien) is very lucky to have something to fall back on. So as he can do the X Factor, the Summer Bay team may very well write him out temporarily (like they will Alf Stewart regarding Ray Meagher's six month break) until the X Factor is finished, then they can write him back in again once he's finished X Factor. They done this with Jack Holden back in 2007 and 2008 when Paul O'Brien went to the UK for the pantomine as Aladdin and It Takes Two in Australia, where he finished in 4th place. Although this may be the very break Luke Jacobz needs to win back some fans that he lost back in 2009 as a result of the Who-Killed-Jack-Holden storyline. I think the X Factor could be his BIGGEST break.

Not sure if that was directed at me or not but personally just because I don't like Angelo, it has no reflection on what I think of Luke as a person - I don't even know him and therefore am not claiming to think that he is incapable of juggling two things at once. I don't know how the X Factor works in Aus, I'm simply looking at how it is here in the UK and I will be very surprised if Luke is physically able (as a human) to resume his role as presenter should he present the next series due to all the countries he will need to travel to and the time he will need to dedicate weekly as well as auditions.

But it's pretty pointless to debate it as it doesn't solve anything. All we can do is wait and see. I'm sure Luke feels really lucky to have this opportunity and good for him - a lot of actors and presenters will be envious I'm sure!
