1989 Episode Discussion

The big error on Chris' part was knowing about it and not telling anyone. He didn't set out to kill Shane or hurt anyone so I agree it wasn't deliberate. He was definitely sorry for what he had done and guilty. I remember his very last scene in the Surf Club with Angel and he genuinely tells her how sorry he is, I think he was quite emotional about it if I recall. It was Simon who figured it all out I think with the help of Terri (?).

Is it possible we could come up with a thingwy of what is and what isn't a spoiler. It seems slightly bizarre to blacking out a storyline that won't air till 2017.

^Take your point, not sure what to suggest though.I mean, if you were watching the show for the first time and a new character came in, would you want someone to tell you what happened to them in the end, even if it was six years down the line? Not sure where to draw the line:Possibly have a time frame, like the next 12 months, or possibly say it's a spoiler if it reveals important information about a storyline that's airing, although then that's open to interpretation.

Haha Ryan I know I did think my post looked rather odd completely blacked out discussing something that wont air for such a long time but I was just following suit since someone/moderator had blocked out the first post on

Shane' s death

. <-- Oh where to draw the line!

Looking forward to having a good catch up with the early years this afternoon!

If you have even watched ads they saying if you chose to drive drunk or tired its no excuse. You'd know it wasnt an accident

Chris drove drunk from a xmas party at Summer bay house. I think it was Terri who eventually worked out it was Chris who hit Shane after he had become friends with Angel. If someone hit your lover and they died as a result you wouldent be so forgiving

It's an accident if it wasn't deliberate, which it wasn't.That doesn't mean it wasn't someone's fault, just that they meant no harm.

As I recall, Chris was only drunk because someone had spiked his drinks, although I'm not sure if he already knew that or not.

I didnt watch the finale episode that year because I was out late night shopping I only saw the return episode the following year so I didnt know that

someone had spiked Chris's drink or how exactly he came to hit Shane

I just saw the follow up episodes the following year and Shane is one of my all time fave H&A character

None of that was shown in the finale episode (if it had been, then we would have all known who was responsible). It was all revealed much later to both the audience and the characters.

Can Stacey just go away and leave? She's annoying, I used to like her too...

I'm not really enjoying this 'Image' storyline, a bit boring.

Yeah, I agree. The 1989 season is not as good as the 1988 season as the storylines are drawn out too much.

I can't wait to get up to the 1992 season. I've heard that's a good year.
