At Westmead Hospital, Rachael is with Tina in the delivery room while she is having contractions. It has been well over an hour since Tina’s water broke.

*Tina lets out a huge groan*

Rachael: Push Tina!

Tina: I AM!!! ARGH!

Rachael: Breathe! *looks at her* You’re doing good.

Tina: YOU THINK? I’M IN PAIN!

Nurse: Do you want your sister to leave?

Tina: NO! I want her here!

Nurse: Push again.

Tina: ARGH!!!!

Nurse: One more time.

Tina: ARGH!!!!!

*Suddenly, baby cries are heard*

Nurse: Congratulations Miss Manase. You have a healthy baby.

Tina: What did I have?

Nurse: A boy.

Tina: Give him to me.

*The nurse hands the baby to Tina*

Tina: Hello. I think I’ll name you Isaiah.

Rachael: Interesting name. You’ll make a great mother Tina.

Tina: Thanks. Would you like to hold him?

Rachael: Of course.

*Tina hands Isaiah over to Rachael*

Rachael: Hi there little Isaiah. It’s your Aunty Rachael. *smiles*

Over at Leon’s house, Lowana is reading a magazine when Leon returns home.

Leon: I’m back.

Lowana: What did you get up to at Seru’s?

Leon: Not much. Riggot and Alexis announced that they are now a couple.

Lowana: I see…

Leon: Why can’t you just give Hayley a chance?

Lowana: Because.

Leon: Because why?

Lowana: Because you are too young to be in a relationship.

Leon: That’s ridiculous!

Lowana: Maybe. But I love you and I won’t let anyone hurt you.

Leon: Right. *walks off*

*Lowana sighs*

The next morning (Monday), Hayley is waiting at the bus stop when Lowana sees her.

Lowana: Hello.

Hayley: Hi Lowana. Leon coming to school today?

Lowana: Of course. Listen I want to talk you.

Hayley: About what?

Lowana: I want you to stop seeing Leon.

Hayley: What? Why?

Lowana: You are too young to be in a relationship and I don’t want you to hurt him.

Hayley: I love him. I would never do anything to hurt him.

Lowana: I know. Well, my answer is still no. I hope you understand.

Hayley: I DON’T!

Lowana: Too bad! *walks off*

*When Hayley arrives at school, she is practically crying her eyes out*.

Alexis: Hayley? What on earth is wrong?

Hayley: It’s over.

Alexis: What is? Talk to me sis.

Hayley: Me and Leon.

Alexis: You were all good yesterday. What happened?

Hayley: His sister comes over to me at the bus stop and tells me not to see Leon anymore.

Alexis: How come?

Hayley: I don’t know. I’m obviously a threat to her.

*Leon approaches the girls*

Leon: Hey girls. *sees Hayley* Baby girl?

Hayley: If you don’t want to go out with me anymore, I understand.

Leon: Can someone tell me what’s going on?

Alexis: I’ll tell you. Your sister told Hayley that she wasn’t allowed to see you anymore.

*Leon looks like he wants to kill someone*

Leon: SHE DID WHAT???? *goes over to Hayley* Listen to me. I love you. I always will love you and nobody and I mean NOBODY can ever tear us apart.

Hayley: I love you too baby boy.

*they hug*

Alexis: You want me to knock some sense into your sister Leon?

Leon: No. I’ll sort her out when I get home this arvo!

Sure enough, when Leon gets home from school that afternoon, he rips into Lowana.

Leon: How dare you!

Lowana: How dare I what?

Leon: How dare you meddle in my personal life! You really upset Hayley this morning by saying that stuff to her.

Lowana: So what? You’re too young to be in a relationship anyway.

Leon: I DON’T APPRECIATE YOU UPSETTING MY GIRLFRIEND LIKE THAT!!!

Lowana: And I don’t appreciate being spoken to like that! I’m your sister; not one of your friends!

Leon: I’ve had to put up with a lot from you over the years Lowana. But this has got to be one of the most manipulative things you have ever done!

Lowana: How was I being manipulative?

Leon: YOU ALWAYS ARE!!!! I used to look up to you as a sister, but now. *shakes his head*

Lowana: What are you trying to say Leon?

Leon: You are nothing but a selfish, manipulative cow!

*Lowana slaps him*

Lowana: Don’t you EVER talk to me like that again! You understand.

*Leon responds by punching her in the face!*

Leon: STAY OUT OF MY PERSONAL LIFE! *storms off into his bedroom and slams the door*

*Lowana covers her eye, shocked by what Leon has done*

Over at Alison’s house, she is studying in the kitchen when the doorbell rings.

*Alison opens the door to find her old friend Judith Staples at the door*

Alison: Judith?

Judith: Surprise.

Alison: How have you been? *goes over to Judith and hugs her*

Judith: Not bad. I thought I would come and visit you.

Alison: How did you find out where I lived?

Judith: Your mother told me where to find you.

Alison: I’m planning to visit her soon. What are you doing now?

Judith: I’m moving up to Coffs Harbour on Thursday. I’m going to live with my Nan.

Alison: How’s Vanessa?

Judith: Vanessa’s still in Yabbie Creek causing trouble. *laughs*

Alison: Would you like to come in?

Judith: Sure. *enters the house*

Alison: My cousin Jenny gave this house to me because she is living with her fiancé at his house.

Judith: When’s the wedding?

Alison: Next month.

Judith: Cool.

*Amy comes downstairs*

Amy: Ali have you seen my…*sees Judith* Oh hello.

Alison: This is my friend Judith Staples.

Amy: Hello. *shakes Judith’s hand*

Judith: Amy right?

Amy: That’s me.

Judith: I’d love to stay and chat but I have to finish packing my belongings.

Amy: You going somewhere?

Judith: I’m moving to Coffs Harbour next week.

Amy: Hopefully Ali and I will come visit you one day.

Judith: I hope so too.

At TAFE, Sylvia is getting ready for her first hospitality class. Her teacher is Paula Van Velde.

Paula: Good afternoon class. This is your first hospitality class and today we are going to learn all of the basics of being in the hospitality industry. We won’t be cooking meals this week, but starting from next week we will. Any questions?

*The six people in class don’t raise their hands*

Paula: Let’s start working then.

*When the lesson is over, Sylvia walks over to Paula and talks to her*

Sylvia: Excuse me Miss Van Velde.

Paula: You can call me Paula.

Sylvia: Paula. What dish are we cooking next week?

Paula: Something basic. Minestrone soup for instance.

Sylvia: Okay. Thanks. *walks out*

At Leon’s house, Mr Longbottom arrives home from work when he sees Lowana.

Mr Longbottom: Hello pumpkin. *kisses her on the cheek*

Lowana: Hi Dad.

*Mr Longbottom looks at Lowana’s face. She has a black eye from the punch Leon gave her*

Mr Longbottom: What did you do to your eye?

Lowana: *lying* I fell into a door.

Mr Longbottom: Where’s Leon?

Lowana: I don’t know. He didn’t do this Dad.

Mr Longbottom: I see. I’m going to get to the bottom of this.

Episode 59

That night, Mr Longbottom sits both Lowana and Leon down to get to the bottom of what happened.

Mr Longbottom: Why did you punch your sister Leon?

Leon: I didn’t. She fell into a door.

Mr Longbottom: How can you get a black eye from falling into a door?

Lowana: If it lands on the doorknob.

Mr Longbottom: Why did he hit you?

Lowana: Well you see…*pauses for a second*

Mr Longbottom: Go on.

Lowana: I can’t. I just can’t.

Mr Longbottom: I see. Go to your room Leon.

Leon: That’s right stand up for her ! She always was your favourite!

Mr Longbottom: I love you both the same. I don’t play favourites.

Leon: THEN WHY DON’T YOU TELL YOUR DAUGHTER WHAT SORT OF A CONTROL FREAK SHE REALLY IS!!! *storms into his bedroom and slams the door*

*Lowana looks sad*

Mr Longbottom: Wait here. *goes over to Leon’s bedroom and knocks on the door* Open the door Leon.

Leon: Shut up and get lost!

Mr Longbottom: If you don’t open this door right now, you’re going to get more trouble.

Leon: I don’t care.

Mr Longbottom: You’ll care when I smack you!

*Mrs Longbottom arrives home to hear the argument*

Mrs Longbottom: What is going on?

Mr Longbottom: Leon gave Lowana a black eye.

Mrs Longbottom: Why?

Mr Longbottom: I’m trying to get to the bottom of it.

Mrs Longbottom: Lowana, a word if I may?

*Lowana enters the kitchen*

Mrs Longbottom: I was just talking to Mrs Martin.

Lowana: Hayley’s mother?

Mrs Longbottom: YES!

Lowana: Oh.

Mrs Longbottom: The fact that you think it’s okay to tell Hayley that she can’t date Leon anymore is beyond me. What gives you the right to say that? I’m really not impressed with your behaviour because I know how you can behave. Nobody is making you or forcing you to say that Leon is too young to be in a relationship. You are just going to accept that Hayley and Leon are going out. And I don’t care how much you complain about it, your father and I approve of the relationship! I know what Leon did to you was wrong, but what you did this morning was beyond selfish! I can’t even look at you right now. Just go to your room and stay there for the rest of the night.

*Lowana goes into a her room quietly while Mr Longbottom enters the kitchen*

Mr Longbottom: I can’t get through to Leon.

Mrs Longbottom: Have you at least tried?

*Mr Longbottom nods*

Mrs Longbottom: Right. I’ll try. *knocks on Leon’s bedroom door* Leon. Your father would like to talk to you.

Leon: Why?

Mrs Longbottom: Just hear him out. For me.

Leon: All right. Come in Dad. *opens the door*

*Mr Longbottom sits on Leon’s bed*

Mr Longbottom: Your mother tells me that Lowana told Hayley not to go out with you anymore.

Leon: Yeah.

Mr Longbottom: But why give a Lowana a black eye?

Leon: Well, I arrive at school and I see Hayley crying. I ask her what’s wrong and she tells me that Lowana told her to stay away from me. When I got home school, I yelled at her and said how dare she meddle in my personal life and she tells me not to speak to her like one of my friends. So, when I told her that she was a manipulative and selfish cow, she slapped me. Then I punched her in the face.

Mr Longbottom: You do realise punching her in the face was wrong. I’m not excusing her behaviour, but you should’ve just walked away.

Leon: Sorry Dad.

Mr Longbottom: It’s okay son. *they hug*

The next day (Tuesday), Alison and her friends leave TAFE early to go and see baby Isaiah.

Tina: Isn’t he adorable girls?

Alison: He is so adorable. Did the pregnancy go smoothly?

Tina: Yes. Rachael was with me the entire time.

Melissa: Can I hold him?

Tina: Sure. *hands Isaiah over to Melissa*

Melissa: Hey there little guy. You look just like your Mummy. Kind of reminds me of the daughter I had.

Alison: You had a daughter?

Melissa: Yes. But she died from SIDS at four weeks old.

Alison: Oh Melissa. I’m so sorry. *hugs her*

Rachael: I really hope Dina has a healthy baby as well.

Tina: Who’s Dina again?

Melissa: My roommate. She has the long blonde hair.

Tina: Right. I thought she had red hair.

Alison: That’s Nina.

*Kat and Vicki go into Tina’s hospital room*

Kat: Sorry we’re late. We had to get some coffee on the way.

Amy: Always in for a good caffeine fix aren’t you Kat?

Vicki: Is this Isaiah? *looks at Tina who is holding Isaiah*

Tina: It is.

Vicki: May I hold him?

*Tina hands Isaiah over to Vicki*

Vicki: Coochie coo. *tickles Isaiah lightly on the chin*

*Isaiah starts laughing*

Vicki: I think he likes it. *smiles*

At Civic High, Carina is hanging around the back oval when Todd approaches her.

Todd: Well, if it isn’t the poor little homeless girl!

Carina: What do you want Todd?

Todd: I just came by to tell you that Natalie is out for blood after what Alexis did to her.

Carina: My heart bleeds.

Todd: Watch what you say!

Carina: If you fancy Natalie so much, why don’t the two of you get a room and do something constructive with your lives!

*Some students hear this and laugh*

Todd: Shut up! *storms off*

Carina: Bye Todd. Hope you don’t come back. *waves at him*

*Donna approaches her*

Donna: What was that about?

Carina: Todd Back trying to get up my nose.

Donna: You needn’t worry about him. He’s a lowlife!

Carina: I know. How are things with you?

Donna: Natalie is out to get us for the raw potato treatment.

Carina: She’s such a liar.

Donna: No I mean it. She is on the warpath. I reckon she’s planning something big.

Carina: Don’t worry. We’ll get Carmen to tell us!

So that afternoon in Food Tech, Carmen tells Donna and Carina about Natalie’s plan.

Donna: What’s Natalie’s plan?

Carmen: Well, she’s planning on cutting Alexis’s hair real short and beating up Catherine, Carina and you.

Carina: Is that right? Well, she’ll be sorry when her plans fail. Thanks Carmen.

Carmen: Your welcome.

Donna: I can’t to see Alexis’s reaction when we tell her what Natalie plans to do with her.

*Sure enough, Donna tells Alexis what Natalie is planning to do*

Alexis: Oh really? That bitch never learns.

Donna: What are you going to do?

Alexis: I will pretend to accept the punishment and then I want you and Carina to hold Ella and disarm the scissors from Natalie.

Donna: I can do that.

Alexis: Good. *to herself* You’ll be sorry you ever tried to mess with me Natalie Evans.

At Century 21 Real Estate, Nina and Alice are waiting to hear who got the building on Victoria Street.

Alice: I’m getting that building.

Nina: We’ll just wait and see then won’t we Alice?

Alice: Yes we shall wait and see.

*The real estate agent approaches them*

Real estate agent: I have made a decision on who gets the building on Victoria Street. Alice?

Alice: Oh yes! I got it! Yes!

Real estate agent: I’m sorry but you didn’t get the building. I’ve decided to give the building to Nina.

*Alice looks dumbfounded as the real estate agent hands Nina the keys to Victoria Street*

Nina: Beauty salon here I come.

Early the next morning (Wednesday), Nina drives straight to her newly purchased building on Victoria Street. She has hired a renovation team to fix up the crumbling building.

Nina: Right gang. This building needs a serious makeover to make it look like a beauty salon. We need a serious paint job inside and out, a new front door, a spa area and changing rooms. Do you think we can do it all in two days?

Renovation team: Yes!

Nina: Good. Now lets get to work. *blows her whistle*

*The renovation team begin to work on the building*

Over at Leon’s house, breakfast is quite tense in the household as neither Leon and Lowana are talking to each other.

Leon: Do we have any milk left?

*Lowana simply pours the last of the milk into her bowl of Weet-Bix*

Lowana: No, we’re all out.

*Leon glares at her*

Leon: Child!

Lowana: Me? A child? At least I’m not a sook!

Leon: AT LEAST I DON’T INTERFERE IN OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES!!

Lowana: AT LEAST I DON’T DATE A TROLLOP!!!

Mr Longbottom: THAT’S ENOUGH!! *slams his fist onto the table* This is no way to behave!

*Leon just storms out of the house with his school bag*

Lowana: He has to stop being so angry!

Mr Longbottom: HE WOULDN’T BE ANGRY IF YOU JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH FOR TWO BLOODY SECONDS!!!

Lowana: OH, IT’S MY FAULT NOW IS IT?

Mr Longbottom: GET TO YOUR ROOM NOW!!!!

*Lowana goes into her bedroom and slams the door*

At Alison’s house, she has decided to take the day off from TAFE to comfort Melissa about what she said to her yesterday at the hospital.

Alison: Why didn’t you tell me?

Melissa: It’s something I don’t normally talk about.

Alison: How old would your daughter be this year?

Melissa: Three.

Alison: What was her name?

Melissa: Samantha. Gorgeous baby too. However, four weeks after her birth, I went to wake her up from her nap and she had no pulse. I called for an ambulance but there was nothing I could do, Samantha was already dead. Said she died from sudden infant death syndrome.

Alison: I am so sorry. *hugs Melissa* When was the last time you visited her grave?

Melissa: About a month ago. *starts to cry*

Alison: Cry it out. It’s okay. Do you have any photos?

*Melissa hands Alison the last photo taken of Samantha before she died*

Alison: She is gorgeous.

*Melissa tries hard not to cry anymore*

Alison: Come here *hugs Melissa again*

At Civic High School, Mr Ta’s Year 8 Maths class has a quiz on multiplication.

Mr Ta: This quiz will end just before the recess bell. I expect every question to be answered. You may start now.

*The class begins to work*

Tyson: Psst. Hey Riggz.

Riggot: Yeah?

Tyson: Help me with some of the answers.

Riggot: Okay.

*Tyson and Riggot make sure that Mr Ta isn’t looking as they help each other with the quiz*

Alexis: What are you two doing?

Riggot: The quiz. What else?

*Alexis looks at them suspiciously while concentrating on her own work*

Mr Ta: Two minutes to go.

Class: FINISHED!!!!

Mr Ta: Okay. Hand me your papers.

*The class hands over the quiz papers*

Mr Ta: You’ll get your quizzes back on Friday. In the mean time, class is dismissed.

*The class leaves but not before Alexis pulls Tyson aside*

Alexis: You were cheating off Riggot weren’t you?

Tyson: And?

Alexis: Don’t you realise that if Mr Ta finds out that you cheated off Riggot, you will both get zero.

Tyson: I just find Maths hard.

Alexis: Ever heard of studying the night before a quiz or an exam? *walks off*

At TAFE, the girls are in the lunchroom talking about Melissa.

Vicki: I never knew she had a kid. That must be so hard for her.

Sylvia: Vicki can you just drop it please? You’ve been talking about it all morning.

Vicki: I just feel sorry for her that’s all.

Amy: When does Tina come home Rachael?

Rachael: Tomorrow morning. She’ll be staying at my place for another two weeks.

Vicki: I just hope she’s a good mother.

Sylvia: AND MELISSA WASN’T IS THAT WHAT YOU’RE TRYING TO SAY??

Vicki: No! I was just…

Sylvia: IT WAS VERY HARD FOR MELISSA TO LOSE SAMANTHA! SHE NEARLY HAD A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN WHILE ME AND RACHAEL WERE THE ONES WHO LOOKED AFTER HER!

Vicki: I’m sorry. I had no idea.

Sylvia: I’ll bet!!! *gets up from the table and walks away*

Amy: Wow! I’ve never seen her like this before.

*Vicki looks like she wants to cry*

Rachael: You all right Vicki?

Vicki: No, I’m not. Excuse me. *walks off*

Rachael: Sylvia was out of line there.

Amy: I know.

When it comes lunchtime, Alexis decides to put her plan into action.

Alexis: Here goes. *walks over to Natalie and her friends* I believe you wanted to see me Evans!

Natalie: As a matter of fact, I did. We are going to chop all your hair off after what you did to us.

Alexis: I know. I must accept the punishment.

*Carina and Donna sneak up behind them*

Natalie: I’m just glad you’re not making a fuss. *sees Alexis smirking* What are you smirking about?

Alexis: I’m not the only one with back up.

*Natalie turns around and sees Carina and Donna*

Alexis: NOW!!!!

*Donna holds Ella back while Carina disarms the scissors from Natalie*

Natalie: GIVE THAT BACK!!!

Carina: I don’t think so!

Ella: GET OFF ME!!!

Donna: Sorry. No chance.

*Alexis grabs Natalie’s shirt*

Alexis: Did you really think you could get over the top of me? Just so you know Natalie, I’m a bigger bitch than you are. And when people try to cut off my hair, I get even nastier. I’m not going to hurt you this time, but next time you try something like this to ANYONE, then I will. Come on ladies. *walks off with Carina and Donna*

*Natalie and Ella look absolutely p****d off*

Natalie: I thought this plan would work!

Ella: It would have. SOMEBODY must have told them about it!

*Both Natalie and Ella glare at Carmen*

Carmen: It wasn’t me. *walks away*

When Leon gets home from school, he sees Lowana in the living room.

Lowana: We need to talk.

Leon: I have nothing to say. *walks straight into the kitchen*

Lowana: I see you were with the trollop again.

Leon: Hayley is not a trollop!

Lowana: Just look at what she wears! It’s not exactly what Princess Di would wear isn’t it?

Leon: NOW YOU LISTEN TO ME!!!! YOU ARE NEARLY 21 YEARS-OLD AND RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A 5 YEAR-OLD!!!!

Lowana: HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!!

Leon: Somebody has to!!!

*Lowana goes to slap Leon again but this time he sees what’s coming and blocks it*

Leon: GOING TO SLAP ME AGAIN AYE?

Lowana: I NEED TO KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO YOU!!!

*Mr Longbottom has had enough*

Mr Longbottom: BEDROOMS NOW!!!!

*Both Leon and Lowana go into their respective bedrooms and slam the door*
