Great chapter. So sweet with Jack & Martha. Loved that, it was beautiful.

The preview seems fantastic. Distracted? With Lucy & her husband I suppose?

Great chapter & I look forward to more. Well done.

You posted your new fic already! I must have missed your fic when I last checked the Fan fiction forum.

Chapter 1:

I loved how Rachel was giggling when Dr Young mentioned her dates with Tony. :) It's too bad we don't/didn't get to see him more often on the show.

I think Rachel is right to be worried about her patient. I do not trust her husband and I bet he’s hurting his wife. He certainly acts suspiciously and his wife looks scared. She can’t get some pain relief because it may hurt the baby? Yeah right, because he couldn’t be the one putting the baby at risk if he is really hurting his wife. <_<

Chapter 2:

Aw Jack and Martha are having a baby! Jack is so excited. Bless him!

I'm sure Rachel is right. If Tony is having a grandson, he'll definitely want him to join his footie team!

I'm looking forward to Tony and Rachel's date.

More please.

Fantastic chapter, Laura. I'm really enjoying this so far and I'm sure I'll love the rest too. :D

Aww, Jack and Martha are having a baby. I loved how excited they were to feel the baby move.

I loved how Jack told Tony that Rachel would be about half an hour.

Looking forward to the next chapter. :)

Aww Laura that was such a lovely, beautifully written chapter. I adored the Jack and Martha scene, it was so light hearted and fun. Aww they're having a baby! Their reaction to the baby kicking was just beautiful. I love how realistically you wrote their reactions to feeling the baby. Jack was just so sweet and i love how he finally managed to feel his child kick!! Martha was fiunny

Ohh i like how Rachel is living with them! Poor Rach all rushed off her feet and being late for her date. I love how descriptive your writing is, it really helps to connect to the charatcers and have empathy for them. My favourite parts of this chapter was the little humerous bits here and there; Rachel asking Jack if he was naked, Jack telling Tony Rachel would be half an hour and poor Tony asking Jack if he smelled okay!! Bless him, that was so sweet to see him all nervous about his date with Rachel.

“If it is Tony’s going to be snapping him up for the footie team straight away; he’s doing somersaults in there” Rachel beamed, thrilled for her friends.

“Speaking of Tony aren’t you two going out tonight” Martha teased, leaning back onto Jack’s chest.

I love how Rachel gets a mention of Tony in, shows she's thinking of him. She seems a little nervous about their date, i hope in a good way!! Can't wait for more.

I'm sooo sorry I haven't updated in a while - I've been doing night shifts and they're not very productive with writing fanfic! This bit I've posted was meant to be longer but I'll make it into two parts so at least you all get a little update (you might not even want one haha) here it is anyway! Edit to add: I couldn't believe how many lovely comments I got on the last chapter, thank you so so much Danni, Carina, Barbara, Red Ranger, Carina, Sabrina, Callyha and Kirsty!

The candle in the centre of the table flickered as music played softly in the background; slightly blurred out by the sound of the waves lapping the shore just a few feet

away. Rachel gazed out as she held her fork upright in her barely touched dinner, unaware of Tony’s voice in the background.

“It’s quite cool for this time of year” Tony mused out loud, trying to make conversation. The silence was making him nervous. “Rach..” he prompted.

“Sorry?” she jumped. “Yeah it is” she smiled, sipping her wine and mentally lecturing herself to focus.

“Do you not like it here?” he asked nervously; “I wasn’t sure if it would be too fancy, maybe I should have picked somewhere a bit less…daunting.”

“What? No I love it” Rachel insisted, “it’s really beautiful, I never knew it was here.”

“You seem distracted” he admitted honestly, “are you having second thoughts about us?” He held his breath, terrified of the response. Images flashed into his head of her admitting that she was and him having to drive her home in awkward silence.

“No not at all” Rachel almost screamed. She knew how her mind had been wandering all night but didn’t realise it was so obvious that Tony had noticed. “I’m so sorry” she added guiltily, reaching out for his hand. “It’s not you at all, this place is amazing and I’m having a really great time. I just…work’s on my mind that’s all.”

“Oh” Tony sighed with a breath of relief, “well is it anything I can help with? If you’re doing too much then maybe you should book some time off.”

“It’s not that” Rachel shrugged, hesitating whether to tell him or not. No matter how much she tried she couldn’t get Lucy’s vacant expression out of her mind, it made her feel like she was going mad. “I had a patient in today” she began; “something wasn’t right about the whole situation but I can’t put my finger on it. All I know is that I’m really worried about her but I can’t do anything. It’s so frustrating.”

“In what way?” Tony enquired, placing his fork on the plate.

“It was her husband; something about him. He just made me feel really uncomfortable and his face, I’m sure I’ve seen him somewhere but I can’t think where. And then I keep thinking that if I could just remember where I recognise him from then maybe everything would fall into place and it might answer why I felt like that but I just can’t place him.” Rachel took a breath as her eyebrows burrowed in frustration.

“Rach you can’t beat yourself up about this” Tony soothed, “at the end of the day your job is to treat your patients and that’s all you can do. Do you think that he’s hurting her is that what you’re saying?”

“Oh I don’t know” Rachel sighed. “Maybe…but then maybe he’s just a weird guy. Maybe there’s nothing in it and I’m just making a big deal for non reason.” She looked up at Tony and noted the concern etched in his face as he tried to think of ways to help her. Guilt overcame her. “Tony, I’m so sorry we shouldn’t be talking about work tonight…”

“It’s okay I don’t mind” he smiled, his eyes twinkling. “Your job isn’t just a job Rach I know that. It’s a lifestyle and a calling I guess and I’m gonna have to get used to late night rants about weird patients if I’m going to have any hope of a sixth date” he chuckled.

“You’ve been counting” Rachel laughed; surprised yet slightly relieved that she wasn’t the only one.

“No not at all, it was just a lucky guess” Tony denied, his cheeks turning pink. “I know you’ve got to work tomorrow and it’s getting pretty late so did you want to take a walk on the beach before we head home?”

“That sounds really nice” Rachel smiled, her heart doing a somersault as Tony stood up and carefully placed her cardigan around her shoulder. She still couldn’t stop thinking about Lucy but realised that she couldn’t let it affect her outside of work. Maybe Dr Benson had picked something up and sorted the situation out, maybe there wasn't even anything wrong. But she was determined not to let it ruin her evening tonight; Tony had been incredibly kind and understanding so far and she didn’t want to push it. Guys like him didn’t come around much and she was adamant that nothing was going to ruin things between them.

Jack and Martha prepare for parenthood, but what's got Martha so upset?

I like the sound of the preview with Tony & Rachel discussing thier past.

Another great chapter. I loved that update.

I'm glad Tony understands that it's Rachel's career & that he doesn't mind taking about her work with her.

They have such a nice, sweet relationship.
