Chapter 11:

Nick ran down to the beach where Charlie was standing.

‘You all right’

‘Nick Leave Me ALONE’ Charlie screamed.

‘No’

‘Go away’

‘Never’

Brax saw the commotion and ran down to Nick and punched him in the face.

Nick fell to the ground in a thump

‘Is he moving?’ Charlie asked.

‘I don’t think so’ Brax laughed.

‘Well he has to go to hospital’

‘Call an Ambulance and lets run’

‘Sounds great’ Charlie smiled grabbing her phone.

Brax watched Charlie’s fingers dial the number, before putting her phone to her ear.

Angelo was onto his 3rd beer after reading Abby’s note she left behind.

DEAR ANGELO,

TO MY LOVING HUSBAND, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PASSED ON, I STILL LOVE YOU AND OUR CHILD. I WANT YOU TO MOVE ON AND MAKE A MEMORY WITH SOMEONE ELSE, BE HAPPY AND SET UP A WONDERFUL LIFE FOR OUR CHILD. 'I love you so much Abby' Angelo said.

Angelo just started to cry. It had been four years since the die she died.

Charlie had called the ambulance and ran off with Brax, they were sitting on the chair outside his work.

‘You did a good job hitting him’ Charlie smiled.

‘So what do I get for it?’ Brax smiled.’

‘A kiss’

‘Are you serious?’ He asked.

‘Absolutely’

Brax leant forward a little bit; so his lips hovered over Charlie’s, Charlie put her lips closer to Brax’s. Their lips met and Brax leaned Charlie back, they continued to kiss for about 2 minutes before Charlie broke the kiss.

‘My place’ She smiled.

‘What’s wrong with my place?’ Brax asked.

‘I have a queen size bed’

‘I have a king’ Brax smiled again.

‘You win, lets get out of here’

Brax picked Charlie up and carried her to his place, which, was just across the sand dunes. Brax placed Charlie onto the sand and continued to kiss her.

Angelo left his brother in charge and left his house, he walked down to the sand dunes. He cried the eyes out, the sound of kissing stopped him. He got up and walked a few meters. He was stunned, shocked.

‘What is this?’ He asked.’

‘Angelo’

‘I don’t want to hear your lame excuses’ Angelo said as he walked off crying.

‘Is he crying over us kissing?’ Brax asked.

‘No, I don’t think so’

Charlie got up, grabbed Brax’s hand and they left the beach. Angelo watched, as they looked so happy together. Happier than he and her ever were. The dress was his and hers, he couldn’t understand why she was wearing it. She was wearing that dress the very first time they had sex with each other. The tears poured out of his eyes, they dripped down to his shirt. First no-one could replace Abby and second Charlie had fallen for Brax. Angelo sat on the dunes, whilst Charlie and Brax spent the night together.

Chapter 12:

The Next Morning:

Charlie woke up the be cuddled to her bed, she smiled and moved her head to place it on Brax's shoulder.

'Morning' he whispered.

'Morning' Charlie whispered back.

'You know you look so much more sexier when you're like this' he smiled with a boyish smile.

'Brax' Charlie laughed.

'Well you do'

'Look I got to go, but I'll see you for lunch?' She asked.

'Absolutely' he smiled.

Brax gave Charlie a small kiss on the lips and got up, changed and left, looking back at Charlie at every chance he could get.

Charlie walked out into the kitchen and got herself some breakfast and drank her coffee, Brax was on her mind. Angelo said something suss was about him, but Charlie didn't see that. He seemed lovely and very very sweet.

Angelo woke up on the beach, brushing the sand off himself he got up to walk away, but a shadow caused him to stop and look around. It was Brax taking an early morning stroll on the beach.

'Oi loser' Angelo said causing Brax to turn around.

'What?' Brax asked.

'Keep away from Charlie'

'I don’t have to' He smirked.'

'Leave her alone' Angelo demanded.

'Why, are you her boyfriend?' Brax asked.

'No' Angelo said.

'Well I don't have to leave her alone'

'If you lay your hands on her again'

'YOU'LL WHAT?' Brax screamed, pulling Angelo by the shirt to his face.

'Hunt you done and I'll.........'

But before Angelo could finish Brax had punched him in the face, Angelo was clearly knocked out.

'I can touch Charlie all I want Loser' Brax said kicking Angelo

Charlie walked into the station knowing she had a whole day shift with Angelo.

'Has Angelo come in yet?' Watson asked.

'I don't know, I can't get hold of him’ another officer called out from behind the front desk.

'Why is he always so late' Charlie asked.

Charlie went and sat down in her office, she pulled out a photo. Her and Angelo were so in love, they shared every moment together. He was Ruby’s stepdad and they were going to start a family. The memory lingered in Charlie’s head. Her phone snapped her back into the real world.

‘Hey baby, your stupid ex boyfriend showed up, he’s got something against me and you’. Brax said into the phone.

‘Well where is he?’ Charlie asked.

‘Um’

‘Brax’ Charlie yelled.’

‘He’s um, knocked out’

‘He’s what?’ Charlie asked.

‘He was annoying me, so I kind of punched him in the face’

‘Why would you do something like that?’

‘I don’t know’

‘Well if you don’t, you don’t get to have lunch with me today’

‘That’s not fair’ Brax moaned. But all he got was the beeping sound of the other line hanging up. Brax looked down to Angelo, he bent down, picked him up and look him back to his place.

Angelo finally came back to reality, he woke up to see Brax standing over him.

‘Hey’ Angelo smiled.

‘Hi’ Brax said.

‘Where am I, why am I with you?’ Angelo asked.

‘Are you alright?’

‘I am perfectly fine’ Angelo said with a drowsy look on his face.

‘Don’t you have to be somewhere?’ Brax asked.

‘Oh yeah. Work’ Angelo smiled.

‘Ok you’ll be fine?’ Brax asked holding Angelo by his back.

‘I am Fine’ Angelo yelled.

Brax let Angelo go on his own

Good update. I liked the opening scene with Charlie and Brax. But then didnt like what Brax did to Angelo I guess its nice he is looking out for Charlie, but at the same time it has nothing to do with him who Charlie wants to date. Looking forward to more

Chapter 13:

Set 2 months from now:

Brax and Charlie continued to date, they had no regrets from sleeping with each other and they loved to watch the pain dwell on Angelo’s face. Angelo still had a clear scar from where Brax had punched him. It sat under his right eye on merged down to his nose and cheekbone. Nick was still in the bay to many people’s disbelief. Angelo and Tom still were going strong; Tom started to look more like his mum everyday.

‘Mate hurry up I need to take you to daycare’ Angelo called.

‘NO’ Tom cried.

‘Why not?’ Angelo yelled.

‘Because you are in a bad mood’

‘I’ll be in a worse mood if you don’t get here’ Angelo yelled.

Tom came out in tears. ‘Oh mate, what’s wrong?’ Angelo asked.

‘I can’t find my Ben 10 T-shirt’ Tom cried.

‘Hey mate it’s in the wash, but daddy has a spare’

‘Really?’ Tom asked.

‘Yeah Yeah’ Angelo smiled.

‘Can I have it?’ Tom squealed.

‘Yes, wait here’

Tom punched the air while Angelo’s back was turned.

‘Here it is’ Angelo said pushing it onto Tom.

‘Thank you Daddy’ Tom smiled.

‘I love you too’ Angelo laughed pushing Tom out the door.

Angelo and Tom walked along the beach kicking the sand.

‘Daddy can we get a puppy?’ Tom asked.

‘We’ll have to see mate’

‘OK’

‘It’s alright’

‘Daddy, who is that?’ Tom asked.

Angelo peered his eyes to see over the sand dune. It was Brax and Charlie kissing.

‘It is no-one mate’

‘No you know her’

‘Yeah I do, but we don’t need to intrude’

‘Is is Charlie?’ Tom asked.

‘Yeah Tom it is’

‘Charlie’ Tom yelled running up the sand dune.

‘Tom’ Angelo yelled.

‘It’s alright Angelo, calm down’ Brax said.

‘He is my son and I don’t want him hanging around a scum like you’

‘A scum huh’ Brax said getting up.

‘Yeah, that’s what you are’

‘Oh really’ Brax said placing his face up to Angelo’s.

‘What you gonna do Brax’ Angelo spat.

‘Make that scar evident on both sides of your face’

‘Brax’ Charlie screamed.

‘Stay out of it’ Brax retorted.

Angelo screwed up his face, ‘You’re not worth it’

Brax put his hand into a fist and punched Angelo.

‘Brax’ Charlie yelled.

‘He got what he deserved’

‘No he didn’t’ Charlie said, sitting next to Angelo, Tom was by her side.

‘Is he ok?’ Tom asked.

‘Yeah, your daddy is fine’

‘Daddy’ Tom said hugging him.

‘Hey mate’ Angelo said.

‘You temped to annoy Brax anymore?’ Charlie asked.

‘NO’ Angelo said, ‘But why are you sleeping with him’

‘I don’t know Angelo, it all happened so quick, I lost control’

‘So what says you can't change that?'

'BRAX' Charlie shouted.

'Yeah baby'

'Angelo and I are going to walk to work, see it this afternoon'

'Bye'

'Hurry Up Angelo' Charlie laughed as she grabbed hold of Tom's hand.

Brax watched on as Charlie, Tom and Angelo looked like a family all holding hands.

'Don't you think you're making Brax jealous holding Tom's hand?'

'No Daddy' Tom giggled.

'So are you gonna talk about Brax?' Angelo asked, rubbing his sore eye.

'Here' Charlie said pulling about a small washer and dipping it in water.

'Daddy your eye is Black' Tom said pointing to it.

'Yeah daddy knows, he now knows so stop doing stuff he shouldn't, even when his friend is in trouble'

'Angelo' Charlie whimpered.

'What?' He asked.

'Tom com-on' Angelo said to Tom.

Charlie got up and followed Angelo to Day Care. Angelo dropped Tom off and walked back to Charlie.

'Why are you so cold hearted?' Charlie asked.

'Because I still love you'

'I realised I no longer love you'

'Yeah that's because that walking talking art museum Brax has taken over you'

'Angelo stop it'

'I don't have too, you do the same thing all the time'

'And what the hell is that?'

'Find a guy, sleep with him and then who knows after that'

'You are coldhearted'

'coldhearted?'

'Yeah'

'You know what, Brax is dodgy, he is hiding something and I'll get to the bottom of it and he'll go down'

'with your respect' Charlie coughed.

'At least I can wait a while to have sex with someone'

'Angelo I told you what happened'

'Yeah it's the same with me, it happened quick'

'You are so selfish, why'd the hell I date you'

Angelo shook his head in disbelief.

'You know what you deserve those black eyes, it suits your face' Charlie laughed walking off.

Inside Angelo was hurt, she once loved him he loved her. Now all he has left is his son. His wife was dead, he had no friends. Angelo protected Charlie against Nick and he tried against Brax, but she rubbed dirt in his face.
