chapter 17:

Blood pooled from under Angelo as the dark figure ran from the bushes

The ambulance rushed to Angelo's side, Lilly was in tears she couldn't control them, Charlie held her firmly.

'Ssh sis, everything will be fine' Charlie.

'But what harmless person could do this?'

'I think I know who'

'WHO' Lilly screamed.

'My ex' Charlie said

'Nick?' Lilly questioned.

'Yes it's a high possibility'

Lilly made her way into the back of the ambulance as it began to drive way, Charlie jumped into her police car.

When they arrived at the hospital, machines were attached to Angelo as he was rushed into theatre, Lilly broke down again, she could not control her tears, she was glad she had Charlie sometimes.

'So a big 6 1/2 months' Charlie smiled.

'Yeah' Lilly replied.

'Thats a while' Charlie said raising her head.

'Well, I am so glad I have him' Lilly said.

'He's glad he has you, with Tom and his struggling love life'

'Well I love him, but I may never get the chance to tell him'

'He'll pull through'

'You sure?'

'I'm sure, I am your big sis and I work with him, so yes he will'

'I trust you' Lilly said.

It had been five hours and Lilly and Charlie had shared some moments they both shared with Angelo and memories from their childhoods. A doctor came out.

'How is he?' Charlie asked.

'Um he is ok, the bullet missed all major arteries'

'That's so good' Lilly smiled.

'So when he we see him?' Charlie asked.

'Um he is asking for Lilly' the doctor said.

'Not me' Charlie said, patting her chest.

'No sorry'

Charlie bowed her head, she felt let down, but he didn't love her, but they were friends.

Lilly smiled as she entered Angelo's room.

'Hey, brave boy'

'Hey, don't call me that'

'Why not'

'Cause I am not brave, I almost died'

'Hey, but you're here healthy and alive'

Lilly placed a kiss on his lips

'Hey I don't mean to be mean, but can you collect Tom please, he'll be freaking out'

'Sure babe, anything else?'

'Yeah, can you bring Charlie in please'

'OK, see you soon'

'Yeah bye'

Lilly walked outside, told Charlie the situation and she left the hospital, Charlie walked into Angelo's room.

'Hey' she smiled.

'Hey' he said looking up to her

Lilly sped from the city back into town, she had to get Tom and take him to Angelo, she pulled into the day care, just a little before 6.

'Hey I am here to collect Tom Rosetta'

'It's about time, you're not a very responsible parent, we tried contacting Angelo 4 times'

'Um, he was shot this morning, by an unknown gunman'

'OMG I am so sorry, is he ok?'

'Yea, he got out of surgery a hour ago'

'Wish him all the best, Tom'

'Hey' Tom said running to Lilly.

Tom had bruises all over and he was carrying his arm.

'He was punched and kicked, the kids involved got a yelling'

'OK, well we have to go and see daddy'

'Where is he?'

'At hospital'

'Is he sick?'

'No'

Charlie was speaking softly to Angelo

'Thank You, for the whole Brax thing' Charlie smiled.

'It's alright, it's what friends do for each other'

'As long as you had a good time'

'I did, and he is released later this week'

'Oh thats really good, you can be free and sleep with him, with no trouble'

'I know and he gets out on 7 months'

'Well you know, you two might marry'

'I would like that but I may not say yes, if he proposes'

'Why not?' Angelo asked.

'Nick'

'Oh, sorry I forgot' Angelo said shaking his head.

'Don't worry' Charlie said rubbing his arm, Angelo smiled at the affection.

'I better go, Lilly will be back soon' Charlie said.

'Ok bye' Angelo said, putting his arms out.

Charlie hugged him gently trying not to press against his stomach.

'Lilly's gonna hate that' Charlie said pointing.

'I know'

'Well bye' Charlie said kissing his cheek. Angelo blushed

'Bye'

Lilly heard the pair talking, she thought they were flirting, cheating.

Charlie walked out and saw Lilly.

'Hey Lilly, Hey Tom'

'Hey' they said together.

'Angelo wants you back'

Lilly smiled and walked in. He had some lipstick on his cheek and Lilly smiled to herself, Angelo wasn't cheating.

'Daddy' Tom said jumping on the bed.

'Argh' Angelo screamed.

Tom sat back, 'What'

'Daddy hurt himself and can't play with you or with Lilly for a while'

'How long?'

'A few months'

Tom cried, he had lost his best friend Charlie, he got hurt at Day Care, now all he had was Lilly and Angelo'

Lilly kissed Angelo on the lips

'I love you' she said.

'I love you too' He smiled.

'I love you too daddy' Tom laughed.

'I love you too Tom' Angelo said.

Next time

I promise Brax and Charlie

Just properly read it all, ooh Nick could have shot Angelo......

I feel for poor little Tom tho :( :(

Looking forward to more :D

Thank You, everyone, like promised this chapter is mainly focused on Charlie and Brax :)

18:

Charlie was outside the prison twiddling her thumbs, Angelo had been released from hospital, he had suffered a bullet to the chest, but he was ok and Charlie was glad. Lilly and Angelo were going strong, she had became a mother to Tom and Charlie was slightly jealous. The prison guard walked up to Charlie, 'Hey Darryl Braxton is ready for release' The guard smiled.

'Can I see him' she smiled.

'Um yeah, he's just here' the guard said moving to the side.

'Hey baby' Brax said pushing the guard to the side and hugging Charlie.

'I have really missed you baby' she said

'I've missed you too and I'm gonna make it up to you'

'You better' she smiled whilst grabbing his hand as they walked out together.

Charlie opened the car door and he sat in.

'Hey how are you?' Brax asked as Charlie fastened her seatbelt.

'Great, I have missed you though'

'How's Angelo, did you thank him?'

'I did, but he was shot a few days ago'

'Oh god is he ok?'

'Yeah he's fine, he just had surgery and now Lilly is taking care of him and his son'

'Oh thats good, she has became family to him'

'Yeah she has but, you know if they get close, I'll became his sister in-law and Lilly will chase after you, because you are so damn hot'

'I know you're hot and I want you'

'Baby when we get back to yours I have something big to ask you'

'Ok can I know now?' She asked excited.

'No its a surprise' he said smiling.

Charlie kept the smile on her face until they reached the footpath of her house and she turned around.

'Brax you need to know something'

'Sure what?' He asked worried.

'I kissed Angelo'

'You What?' Brax yelled.

'On the cheek, he had done so much for me'

'Hey it's ok, I understand, I thought you meant on the lips and full on kiss'

'No No No Angelo and I are OVER for good, no chance for us getting back together'

Brax smiled as he kissed her and carried her into the house, to her room, which had satin bedsheets. The blue ones, the ones he loved. He placed Charlie carefully onto the bed as he leaned onto of her, kissing her. 'Could I have this kiss forever?' he asked.

'Of course' she said smiling, unbuttoning his shirt. He made his way up her dress, slowly undressing her. As they kiss passionately, they made their way under the satin sheets.

About an hour later Charlie and Brax laid in each-others arms, catching their breaths.

'That was great' Brax said.

'Like always' Charlie said.

'Haha yeah' he chuckled

'What's so funny' Charlie laughed.

'Nothing I just wan't you to have your surprise'

'Ok, what is it' Charlie said sitting up, pushing on her chest.

'OK, brace yourself'

'Ok'

'So I love you, so much and I want to be with you, forever'

'So what are you saying, because I love you too'

'Will you take the honour of being my wife'

Charlie sat in shock, 'YES' she screamed.

Charlie and Brax kissed as he placed a big diamond ring on he finger.
