"and, it's on me, so spoil yourselves ok" Brax said with a wink. "Thanks Bro" came Caseys reply "Yeh thanks Brax" ruby second. Brax walked away to get them a drink from the bar. "So she really said he?" Casey asked "Yeah, i swear down, and it wasn't a slip of the tongue like she said it was, she was upset last night and i found her crying this afternoon, theres definately more to it then she's letting on" "So, whats the plan?" Casey sympathised. "Like no offense or anything, but charlie doesn't really seem like the person to talk about her feelings and what not" "Yeah, i know, hence why were here" Ruby said "I don't follow" casey asked puzzled "Whose here that could get to Charlie, someone she had been with for like 2 years" "Angelo!" Casey said, a bit louder than expected, but glad that he had figured out what Ruby was on about. Brax walked closer to the pair, aware that his brother had just shouted his business partners name "Case man, why you shouting angelos name? You got a thing for him?" Brax smirked "Oh very funny" Casey replied as Ruby sniggered. "Go on then, why?" asked Casey "I think something is going on between my mother and angelo" Braxs smirked disappeared from his face rapidly "What, erm what would make you say that?" Brax pushed "Charlies been upset lately and i know its over a man, and well i don't think she's seen anyone since Angelo and she's not really been seeing anyone since thats been serious, well she did go on that date and they made out but nothing since then so it can't be him" Ruby didn't really recognise Brax's level of intrigument, if she had, she would of realised Brax was far more interested in this topic than a normal person should have been. That was it though wasn't it. Brax wasn't just a normal guy. He was a guy in love, falling in too deep and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt Charlie. "and i mean through all the ups and downs that they had, he was there for her through everything and same for her, like when Hugo came back, Angelo losing his job, and all the rape and grant thing" Sure the Braxtons had heard about Angelo losing his job and Hugo, the dodgy guy, but rape? this was new the Braxtons. "Rubes, what do you mean the rape? and whose Grant?"

"Oh my god Ruby, i never expected you to say that" Casey said whilst putting a comforting arm around his girlfriends shoulder. "she was only 13! What kind of sicko would do that!" Casey said, get angrier by the second. "My father, he came back in our lives about a year and a half ago, Charlie tried to keep me away from him, but obviously i didn't know the full extent of the story as charlie and my grandparents were trying to protect me. Heck, i only found out Charlie was actually my mother and not my sister, and my parents were actually my grandparents a few days before that. Angelo helped an awful lot and Leah to be honest. My grandfather died earlier this year, he was married to Morag, Alfs sister, and yeah, when Grant came back to tried to make me believe him over Charlie as Charlz never reported Grant, as i said, she was only 13, she didn't even tell her parents until 4 months in when they found out she was pregnant, and by then there wasn't enough evidence to arrest him, he was 4 years older than her, and he did that to my mother, i was so angry at him, Charlie was uncontrollable, he was here in the Bay and there was nothing she could do about it. Ross, my grandfather couldn't bear to see us like this, so he killed him. Grant started making remarks of what it was like and what Charlie was saying whilst he was doing what he did to her and how easy it would be to do it again and Ross just lost it, wouldn't you?" "Yeah of course i would, he was only looking out for his family, he did what he had to do for family, right Brax' Casey said "Yeh of course, any human woulda done the same Rubes" came Brax's reply "Can you keep this to yourselves? Not everybody knows and i'm sure Charlie wouldn't be best pleased if she found out that i'd told the Braxtons of all people" Ruby said, pleading to the brothers "Of course Rubes" "Yeh, my lips are sealed sweetheart, oh and just out of interest, wheres your mother now? Is she still upset and your house, maybe you should of stayed with her, you know for some company" Brax said, trying not to give away that he cared for Charlie immense amounts "I tried to get her to talk to me but she wasn't hearing any of it and got dressed to go for a run, i tried to stop her but then Casey came round and she went" Ruby politley answered Brax "but it's raining, actually, it's pouring" Brax said, worried for Charlie "that's what i said bro, but women ey, who will ever understand them" Casey said, with a slight grin and an elbow in his side from Ruby "and she said she'd be a while so i guess she's having a bit of a think as well' replied Ruby "oh right, well better her than me, i'd hate to be out there in this weather" Brax replied getting up off the seats hiding concern from his lovers daughter. She shouldn't be out there when the weathers like this Brax thought ----- Back behind the bar Angelo was looking intently at the far end table to where Ruby, Casey and Brax were sat. He pretended to do some work as Brax left his seat returning to the bar. "You actually going to do some work today Darryl?" Angelo said, not looking up from the worktops he was cleaning "Excuse me? I sit down for 5 minutes? I'm entitled to a break my lordship" came Brax's cocky remark. "Well when you're sat down talking to your brother, you could be earning money" "We were talking about something very important actually" "oh yeh, and whats that? hmm? Heath maybe? or your friend, whats he called, Brodie?" "No actually, your ex' "Charlie? why on earth were you talking about Charlie? I swear if you hurt her, i told you what i'd do" "No offense, mate, but i don't think you have a say on her life anymore, you parade your new 'love' around trying to make Charlie jealous, maybe she just doesn't care about you anymore, but to be honest, i never really got what she saw in you anyway, lets face it, Charlie is quite a looker i mean, really hot! but you? You are selfish, and you're always feeling sorry for yourself, maybe Charlie is just glad to get the back of you, do you really love Nicole?" Angelo was lost for words, did charlie really not care about him anymore? "of course i do, otherwise i wouldn't be with her!" "So why are you so defensive over Charlie Buckton mate?" "because..." Silence, why was Angelo so defensive, he was the one that broke it off with her, he was the one that made her move out "because what? come on i'm waiting" Brax said, pushing Angelo to talk "because nobody is good enough for her, not me, not anyone, if one man so far as looks at her, they're dead!" "and you're sure you love Nicole? because Rubys pretty sure that Charlie still loves you, and thats what we were talking about, so you better get you're act together mate" What was Brax doing? He was saying these words out loud but he couldn't understand why. Deep down he knew why, he was trying to get the scent away from anyone guessing they were together, he was trying to make it look like he couldn't care less about Charlie. He was so close in this little argument to telling Angelo what he and Charlie were doing. What they were doing in the bed that Charlie and Angelo once had sex in, what they had done in this very restauraunt, and what they had done on the beach but he couldn't. Charlie didn't want them to be out in the open and if thats what Charlie wanted, its what Charlie would get, but he, himself, didn't want to hide their relationship anymore. He wanted to kiss her infront of everyone. He wanted everyone to know that Charlie Buckton was his girl.

Could be interesting to see if Brax says anything to Charlie.....also wondering why Charlie was so upset in that opening chapter.....did I miss something or don't we know.... Looking forward to more
