Thank you SO much: Danni, Sarah, Samantha28, Charlie&Brax_lover and cb2180

PS: for those who don't like Angelo......I could give you a tiny spoiler into what I'm gonna have happen to him......but, I think I'll make you wait. hehe, ooh, I am evil :P

Chapter 19

Brax walked back to his house form the garage, a huge smile still plastered on his face. He relished in the fact that Charlie had opened up to him in more ways than one; all the pain that she went through as a young girl was still causing her pain as a woman and this made Brax think more about Charlie saying she loved him. It wasn't a silly little thing she had muttered to him because he had said it to her, Charlie meant it and gave a reason behind her loving him.

Opening the door to his house, Brax walked in to find his mum sat on the couch, watching a TV show. cans of larger were thrown over the floor as she brought the lit cigarette to her lips. She inhaled gladly and as the smoke hit the back of her throat, she relaxed back into the couch, oblivious to her elder sons presence in the room

"Hey mum" Brax spoke tentatively as he walked forward. Cheryl looked Brax up and down and blew her mouth full of smoke in his direction. Brax wafted the smoke away as he coughed "can I get you another beer?" Brax asked; he didn't want her to drink, but it was a huge step for her to be out of her room

"Yea. Thanks son" Cheryl smiled to her son, who's ever growing smile caused his eyes to light up "Hey Darryl" Cheryl leaned forward "Get one for yourself too" Brax smiled and nodded, complying with Cheryl words. As he opened the fridge, he noticed that there was more food in and not all junk; his mum had finally left the house.

Casey ran out of the water, surf board under his arm as he headed up the beach to where Ruby and Sally were sitting. Casey pushed his board into the sand before he took a seat beside Ruby, brushing against her slightly with his wet arm.

"Casey!" Ruby giggled lightly as she moved to the side, wiping her arm in the process "Have a good surf did you?"

"Yea, was alright actually. You'll have to let me show you how to do it one day" Casey smiled

"Not likely" Sally piped up as she looked at the teens "I've read too many stories about surfers and how they've met a watery end" Sally shuddered at the thought

"I'd only start her off in the baby pool Mrs. Young" Casey nudge Ruby jokingly "She wouldn't be any good anyway"

"Oi!" Ruby playfully hit Casey

"We'll see. One thing at a time though" Sally smiled

"Oh yea" Casey knew what Sally was reffering to "How's that going now by the way? Have you got anywhere with it or are you still at a loss?"

"We're not at a loss really, mum has been so helpful and I just get the feeling that we're so close and I don't want to give up just yet; but we're running out of options, and this is the last place to look really. After here I don't know where else to go" Ruby replied, shocking herself as well as Sally with her honesty "I might just call an end to it; I've looked everywhere I can and I'm not going to travel all of Australia and further to find her; Summer Bay is the last place I'm looking"

"That's very brave Ruby to decide that; I couldn't do it" Casey looked to the sand

"It would be nice to meet her" Ruby was now looking between Sally and Casey equally, occasionally looking out to the sea to find the words to string together as she opened up more to her mum and her best friend "Just to know for myself that I wasn't dumped. I don't think I was, mum and dad saw the look on her face and saw how upset she was when she gave me up; but for me, I just want to know" Ruby looked out to the water as she wrapped her arms around herself. She was oblivious to the fact that Sally had brought her hand to face to wipe the tear that escaped her eye; and that Casey had reached behind Ruby to take Sally's free hand in his.

"I'd better get home Rubes; Brax has something at Angelo's and I said I'd be there for moral support" Casey spoke as he took his hand from Sally's and placed it on Ruby's back

"I thought Heath was going" Ruby asked as she looked to Casey

"He and Brax had a fight. Heath has gone with some of the boys to the city to cool down with a few beers" Casey replied as he rose to his feet "Take care" he smiled

"You too" Ruby replied as she smiled back to him

"He's more than a friend isn't he?" Sally asked, trying to hide the smirk that had formed on her face

"No, he really is just a friend" Ruby replied "A really, really good friend who has been there for me through all of this" Ruby replied

"That's what you need. A really, really good friend" Sally echoed as she placed her arm around Ruby and pulled her close

"Mum; I meant it"

"Meant what?" Sally asked as she looked into her daughters big eyes

"That if we don't find Charlotte in the Bay, then I'm done. I've looked in the obvious places, and its not all up to me to find her. I have a mum, a dad and a sister and brother. I don't need anyone else"

"But if Charlotte is in the bay, what sort of relationship do you want with her?" Sally asked

"I don't know" Ruby shrugged her shoulders

"Beacuse, as much as I admire you're maturity in all of this and you're determination to find her; you haven't once thought about the possibilty of finding her. You've siad that you want to know a few things, like why she gave you up, and what you're biological family are like. But you haven't thought about Charlotte and if she wants to know you. She might want some sort of relationship with you; be it a friednship or more of a 'mother' role in your life" Sally explained "Charlotte may have a husband and another child; she may have a a family of her own and might not want to have all of that turned upside down"

"What are you trying to say then? That I shouldn't go through with this?" Ruby asked

"No, I'm not saying that. This is you're decision, I'm just pointing out some probabilities that could be" Sally replied

"I know she could be married and have more kids; but what happens if she hasn't?" Ruby questioned

"That's why this is a complicated matter; you just don't know the answer to that question"

"I haven't actually thought this through right have I? I've only seen this from my side, me been the one who was affected, me, me, me. I never once thought about how Charlotte would feel" Ruby looked down to the sand in shame "Oh my gosh"

"We can stay in the Bay for a little longer if you like; we don't have to go home right away" Sally looked out to the water "Just so you can clear things in you're head"

"Thanks mum"

"Is there anything in particular you are looking for?" The sales assistant asked as she walked over to Charlie and Liam as they stood looking at black dresses

"Something suitable for a black widow would be perfect" Charlie sarcastically replied. The woman looked uncomfortable as she tried to work out if Charlie was been serious or joking

"Sorry, can you just give us a few more minutes?"

"Of course" The woman replied as she releavingly took a few steps backwards and found some more customers to pounce on

"What was that for?" Liam asked

"I may as well be a black widow" Charlie replied as she folded her arms over her chest "I know I'm not married, but I could kill Angelo right now for his comment"

"And I don't think the courts would blame you" Liam smiled "Look, how about this" Liam held up a plain black dress that had a small slit up the thigh "You'll kill in it, Brax won't be able to keep his eyes off you, Angelo will be nice to you and me and Angelo gets what he wants from the competition"

"And at $23, we have enough to have some food, go for a couple of drinks and buy ourselves a few more things" Charlie smiled

"Actually, I was hoping to buy something for Bianca with the rest of the money"

"So no food?" Charlie asked, disappointed

"I'll hold $100 for food, but I really want to buy Bianca something" Liam replied

"What are you wanting to buy Bianca?" Charlie asked as she and Liam reached the cashier

"An engagement ring" Liam smiled "I'm going to ask her to marry me"

Charlie's face lit up "Are you serious" She squealed as she placed her hands on Liam's shoulders

"Yea. I've been thinking about it for a while but just, held it off" Liam handed the woman thirty dollars

"Why?" Charlie asked as she grabbed the bag from the counter "You clearly love Bianca, even though sometimes you are a giant pain in the butt"

"When am I a pain?" LIam asked as he placed the $7 change in his pocket

"When you've had three too many drinks, when you jump six foot in the air after Angelo tells you to jump" Charlie listed "You know, those little things"

"Oh them, I thought you meant something more serious" Liam smiled "But seriously; I know she's the one I want to be with for the rest of my life; I've seen her loving side towards me which is great, but I've seen it towards her friends, and -as disgustingly sweet this is going to sound- its made me love her even more than I thought was possible" Liam smile became slightly bigger

"I don't think its disgustingly sweet. I think its lovely" Charlie smiled

"But, I want to make sure its spontaneous and romantic" Liam ran his hand through his hair

"And that's where I was hoping you'd help" Liam looked to Charlie with big eyes

"What? You want me to help you propose to your girlfriend?" Charlie asked

"Well, I'll ask her and it will just be us two, I just want to you make it more romantic" Liam replied "Please"

"I erm-, I don't know" Charlie replied

"Charlie, please" Liam said "I have no idea how to do this, I want to make sure its right"

Charlie looked to the desperate Liam; biting her lip as she stamped her foot to the floor as her natural reaction was shunted by the overwhelming happiness "Yes, I'll help" Charlie replied "BUt only for Bianca"

"Thank you so much Charlie" Liam smiled "And, why just for Bianca?"

"I think you already know the answer to that question Liam" Charlie replied as the two made their way to the jewelry shop

"Look, I can see this from you point of view; but, can't you see it from mine? I've been mates with him for years, and I've known you for less. Yes, I've seen the way he treats you and the way he makes you cry when you think no one is watching-" Liam paused as his words rang in his head "-And I'm hearing all this spoken for the first time" Liam's mouth opened in shock "Why am I still mates with him?"

"For the same reason I still have to wake up to him each and everyday. For safety"

Casey placed his surfboard under the house before walking into the messy place he called home. He found Brax on the couch, smiling like an idiot as he watched TV. Casey noticed the number of bottles sprawled over the chairs and floor and assumed Heath and Brax had had a drinking match. Unamused, casey shook his head and began to clean up the mess his older brothers had done

"Oi, Cinderella. What you doing?" Brax asked as he looked to his youngest brother

"Cleaning up after you and Heath"

"I aint seen Heath since last night" Brax replied "And what do you mean, cleaning up after us?"

"Look around Brax! The place is a tip!" Casey threw his arms out, emphasising the mess in the room

"For your information, it wasn't me. well, not all me. Mum helped too" Brax replied

"What?" Casey asked

"When I got home earlier today, I found mum sat here watching TV, she was smoking and had a few drinks down her. I was a bit like, whoa! but when I grabbed a beer for myself, I saw she'd restocked the fridge" Brax smiled to Casey "Mum left the house Case, I don't care if there was a dead body sprawled over the floor; mum left the house for the first time in years"

"She actually left the house?" Casey smiled

"Yes" Brax smiled "She's in her room now though" Brax added

"I don't care. She left the house!" Casey said happily "Can I have a beer?"

"Yea, in five years" Brax replied

"Aww, Brax! Come on!" Casey pleaded

"Fine! One beer but you put some lemonade or something in it. Make it a shandy" Brax replied

"Cool" Casey walked to the fridge and grabbed a beer. He opened the can, poured half into a glass and topped up with some lemonade. "Oh yea, you know Ruby"

"Not personally no" Brax replied "Why?"

"I never told you that she was adopted. She's tracked her down and thinks she lives somewhere here" Casey replied as he walked over to the couch and sat beside Brax

"What?" Brax asked "Little brunette? She's adopted?"

"Yea" Casey confirmed "Why?"

"I wouldn't have put her as the adopted one. I'd have the son the adopted one, but that's just me" Brax took a sip form his near-empty beer bottle "Anyway, you coming to Angelo's to watch the fight?"

"Oh yea. Sounds good!" Casey replied sarcastically "Just what I want to see, my brother bashing someone and getting bashed himself whilst people are stood watching"

"There'll be food and drink" Brax threw in

"Wow! what a fab night! I'll tell everyone at school" Casey mocked

"Oi!" Brax laughed as he put Casey in a headlock playfully "I can still deck you you know"

"Whatever" Casey laughed as he pulled out of the headlock "I'll order in some food. How does pizza sound?"

"Yea, sounds good" Brax replied as he watched Casey grab the phone and proceed to call the pizza house. While he listened to Casey order the pizza, he thought about Charlie and how much he more he was now dreading the fight, and he looked to his mother's door; hoping she would step out once more for her youngest son to see.

Thank you so much guys for the  comments! Sarah, Samantha28, Danni, Charlie&Brax_lover, Laylak and soph1303

I keep saying this, and I'm gonna say it once more I can't write lovey-dovey mushy stuff, so what I have written is just going to have to do! (Sorry for those who love romance)

Chapter 20

Charlie sat on the balcony of Angelo's club, overlooking the beach and watcing as Liam lead Bianca to the spot where he was going to propose. As she watched, she found herself consumed with happiness for her friend, but also jealousy toward her. Forcing her jealousy aside, Charlie smiled as the wind caught her hair and blew it from her face, allowing her to clearly see the events unfold on the beach.

Liam nervously watched as Bianca took in all of her surroundings. The blanket laying over the rock where they first admitted to each other that they liked one another, the wine in the cooler that they had drank on their first date, grapes with chilli dip on a plate on a lower rock, -one of Bianca's weird food habits- and an Ipod playing the song that was heard in the background of the first concert they had been to -albeit, Charlie and Angelo had gone too-

"Liam" Bianca gasped as she brought her hands to her face "This is -you did all of this?" Tears formed in Bianca's eyes as she loked to Liam

"Yea" Liam quietly said as he rubbed the back of his neck, slyly looking over to Angelo's and seeing the silohute figure of someone on the balcony Charlie he thought to himself

"Its beautiful" Bianca placed a kiss on Liam's lips "But, why?" She asked as she pulled away and helped herself to a chilli dipped grape

"I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks; more so ever since my eyes were opened over Charlie and Angelo, and it's made me realise that, I never ever want us to have a day apart, I never want us to feel we're not loved by the other" Liam placed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. Bianca's eyes lit up

"Bianca Scott. Will you do me the greatest honour of becoming my wife?" Liam asked as he opened the box, revealing a princess cut, light pink stone on a gold band ring

"Oh my god" Bianca gasped, once more bringing her hands ot her face "Of course! Yes!" She squealed. Liam exhaled happily as he took the ring from the box and placed it on Bianca's finger. Looking at her newly decorated finger, Bianca bit her lip "It's beautiful"

"You're beautiful" Liam smiled before he pulled Bianca closer to him and took her in an embrace

~*~

"How long until the fight?" Casey asked as he walked back into the front room after having a shower

"Twelve hours. Not that I'm counting or anything" Brax replied as he threw the crust of his pizza into the box

"Why are you doing it?" Casey asked as he sat on the couch next to Brax "You said you would never get into that sort of stuff"

"Yea, I know what I said mate, things changed" Brax replied

"What changed?"Casey asked

"Leave it alright?" Brax answered sternly as he made to get up

"No. I'm not a kid. You and Heath are always keeping things from me and I'm sick of it" Casey replied in a louder than usual voice

"Alright, you want the truth?"

"Yea" Casey nodded

"You know that bloke that came here a fews weeks back?" Casey nodded "He's Angelo, the bloke I work for and the bloke who's arranged for all the club managers in the area to come to his place to see the fight. He forced me to sign the contract; if I didn't sign it, you wouldn't be safe. As it turns out I've now shot myself in the foot and got me and Charlie stuck in this for the rest of our lives"

"What?" Casey scrathed his head "You're stuck in this?"

"Yea. I stuffed up mate, and I was told to not go through with it" Brax smakced his lips together before shaking his head, clearly fighting the tears

"Who told you not to do it?"

"Charlie -Angelo's girl. She's been with him for too long and just wants out. She tried to tell me so many times and I ignored her. I've stuffed us both up now"

Casey looked to his elder brother and saw the pain in his face. "You like Charlie don't you"

"Nah mate" Brax replied "I love her" Casey's mouth dropped as he looked to his older brother. Three words had just come from his mouth that he never expected Brax to know, let alone say "Don't look at me like that"

"Sorry, it's just-" Casey broke off, still shocked "You've had like, eleven, twelve girlfriends and never did you say that you loved them"

"Charlie is different"

"Yea, she's hot"

"No -well, yea- but that's not it. It's like, she hates the fact that men look at her because of her looks so she does her damndess to be rude and obnoxious and always get drunk. But since that time when she and Liam verbally attacked each other, I've seen a different side to her, one that I never thought there would be" Brax smiled as he talked about Charlie "There's so much more to her than just her looks; those are just a bonus"

"At least you know you can be with the one you like" Casey said sadly as he looked away from Brax

"Eh?"

"Ruby. I like her more than a friend, but whilst she's got all this adoption thing going on in her life, she has no room for anything more than friends" Casey exhaled, as though he was giving up "I don't blame her though, her mind is all over the place and I guess the last thing she wants is a boyfriend"

"I'm sure once she's got passed whatever, she'll be interested" Brax reassured Casey, not thinking twice about the reason Casey had just said "Right, you've had ya tea, get yourself sorted for bed"

"Brax" Casey argued

"Nah, you got school tomorrow" Brax replied as he pointed to Casey's room and watched him sulk off

~*~

For what seemed hours, Charlie sat on the edge of the bed. Her legs swung as she smiled, thinking of her time with Brax and how much she had come to love him for how he had been with her and how he hadn't assumed like Angelo had. Even thinking about Angelo's name never caused Charlie's smile to disappear from her face; a sign -clear to Charlie herself- that she had finally found her happiness and now there was only one problem.

How could she be with Brax, when she still had Angelo in her life?

Charlie stopped her legs form swinging upon hearing the door slam shut downstairs. She glanced at the bedside clock quickly as she tried to think of who was entering the house. Before she could think of a name, Angelo burst into the bedroom and began to strip. Charlie felt sick to her stomach as she watched Angelo remove his belt from his trousers and allowed them to drop to the floor.

To her surprise, Angelo bypassed Charlie and went straight into the bathroom and turned the shower on. Charlie sat, wating and wondering what Angelo was doing. She heard him close the shower door and she heard him hum as he washed himself. The ten minute shower Angelo had had seemed to be only a few seconds, and he was soon back in the bedroom.

"So" Angelo said as he rubbed the towel in his hair "What did you buy to wear at the fight?"

"The fight isn't for another, nine and a half hours" Charlie replied as she once again, glanced to the clock "Why go so early?"

"Because Charlie" Angelo began "By the time you've had a shower, got dressed and put the make-up on that you need, my business enimies will be making there way to the club. I can't be seen to be late and there is not a chance in hell that you are going to make me late. Besides, I need to make sure Brax comes. If he doesn't, I have a little visit to pay to his brother" Angelo smirked evily as he spoke the final words

Charlie looked to him in disgust "Casey is a kid! How can you talk like that?"

"He ain't my kid" Angelo replied

"No, but what if you had a kid and someone came around here threatening him?" Charlie asked

"What kid of mine? Are you trying to tell me you're pregnant?" Angelo asked

"No I'm not pregnant!. I was hypothasising!"

"I don't have to worry about anyone threatening a kid of mine; one because you've drank so much the kid wouldn't survive in you and second, I have enough mates around me to take care of anyone"

"No kid would survive in me?" Charlie echoed, close to tears

"No it wouldn't" Angelo looked to Charlie, who now had glazed eyes "Don't look so shocked Charlie; you and I both know that been a mother is an alien thing to you" Angelo added before he walked over to the wardrobe and looked to the clothes he had hanging "Are you going for a shower then?"

"Yea" Charlie replied in an unintentional whisper as she headed for the bathroom. She walked in, closed the door and leant against it, fighting the stinging tears in her eyes. She removed her clothes and stepped into the shower. As the water splashed over Charlie and ran down her face, Charlie couldn’t help but allow the tears to escape her eyes, each tear fell following the same pattern as the one before, and each rolled of Charlie’s chin and joined the water that vanished down the plug as Charlie continued her shower
