Great update,

Aww I loved Casey and Brax's talk about the fight and the girls that they both like/ love. And coincidentally both girls happen to be related to each other too.

Grr Angelo!!!! I HATE HIM SO MUCH!!

Poor Charlie :(

Angelo is so rude!

Your lovey dovey stuff isn't bad, its good because in home an away Brax is sweet and kinda romantic but hes still got that tough guy act. This fanfic is so enjoyable.

Thank you so much for the :wub: comments. I appreciate you taking time to read as well as comment. I hope this is okay, and I will try to get another update done before Monday as I'm away for a few days. But yea, Danni, Sarah, Samantha28, soph1303, Charlie&Brax_lover, cb2180 thank you :wub:

Chapter 21

The cool night air hit Charlie in the face as she walked toward Angelo's club. Her hand in his as he smiled wide-mouthed as they passed many people on the way. Charlie's legs were covered in goosebumps as the men leered at them -just as Angelo had hoped- making her feel even more insecure about the night ahead.

The music thumped hard and was heard for more than fifteen feet away, Charlie flinched with each beat; comparing the tumping beat of the music to that of the four fists that would be throwing punches in two short hours. Charlie smiled softly as she felt the heat from the club wash over her near-shivering body. The dress she was wearing was nice -when Charlie would admit it- but it wasn't a dress to wear during one of the coldest times of year, especially when she wasn;t able to put a cardigan or shawl over her shoulders to retain some of her body heat.

"Wow" Bianca said as she saw her friend walk in "You look-"

"Freezing?" Charlie finished as she moved as close to the heat source as she possibly could without actually climbing on the heater itself

"Hot!" Bianca replied "Where and when di you get that?" Bianca asked as she took a proper look at the dress, envious of the figure her friend had and how much the dress she was wearing showed it off

"Liam was ordered to get me a dress that would look good for Angelo's business" Charlie said, tears forming in her eyes as, once again, the hurt washed through her heart

"Angelo told Liam to get you-" Bianca began, but Charlie stopped her from carrying on by nodding as a tear rolled down her cheek "Well, at least I know Liam has exquisit taste" Bianca smiled

"And an eye for a bargain" Charlie smiled "$23 this cost"

"$23? Are you serious?" Bianca was shocked

"Yea. Angelo gave Liam nearly $1000"

"What did you spend the rest on?" Bianca asked

"Food" Charlie replied gleefully "It was the least Angelo could do. And a free meal always tastes better"

"Oh, so true" Bianca giggled "So" Bianca smiled insanely "I have something HUGE to tell you"

"What?" Charlie asked, looking at Bianca with a wondering smile

"Liam and I are engaged!" Bianca squealed as she placed her hands on Charlie's arms

"Oh my gosh! Bee!"Charlie squealed as she pulled her arms from Bianca and wrapped them around her friend "I'm so happy for you!"

"I want you to be cheif bridesmaid" Bianca said as she pulled away "I have no idea when we're getting married, but I want my best friend in the whole world there with me through everything" Bianca added as she took Charlie's hand in her's

"Bee" Charlie happily sighed, touched by her friends request "I don't know what to say"

"Yes" Bianca quickly added "I want you there with me Charlie, its always been you and me, even before Liam. I want you stood there at the altar with me on the biggest day of my life. I love you Charlie"

"I love you too Bee, but-"

"Not buts. You're going to say yes, organise me one of the best hen parties ever and you are going to wear a gorgeous dress that Liam will pay for"

"As long as its warmer than the one I've got on" Charlie smiled

"Of course" Bianca smiled "So?"

"I would love to be bridesmai-"

"Ah! chief bridesmaid" Bianca smiled

"Sorry. Chief bridesmaid"

Brax sat on a chair in the middle of the room with only a small window which the moon shone through as light. He liked the dark; it kept him from seeing what was going on around him, and at this moment in time, he wished that what was about to happen wouldn't; he wished he had listened to Charlie and not got involved. Sighing with defeat over the choices he had made, Brax rose to his feet and paced the room, thinking about the fight soon came into the forfront of his mind and his game plan was something Brax desperately tried to get together.

He was taken from his thoughts by the gently tapping on the door. He wiped his hands down his top as he headed toward the door, made visible by the smallest of light from the round moon. He opened the door, his eyes widened and his mouth dropped open

"Wow!" he said as he looked to Charlie as she stood in the corridor "You look -hot!"

"Thanks" Charlie replied "Wish I could say the same thing about you" Charlie said as she looked to Brax "How are you feeling?"

"Sick, nervous, like a hypocrite, stupid, foolish" Brax replied "You know, all the good things"

"Why do you feel like a hypocrite?" Charlie asked

"I told Casey and Heath not to get involved in anything like this" Brax replied " And now I'm doing it myself. What doe that say ey?"

"You have a very good reason for doing this. I hate Angelo for what he did to Casey; he was totally in the wrong, Casey is just a kid" Charlie shook her head in disgust

"This is going to sound stupid but, please be careful Brax" Charlie looked into Brax's eyes "I don't think I could bare to see you get hurt" Charlie added as she placed her hand on his cheek. Brax rested his head in Charlie's palm as they kept their eyes on each other

"I won't get hurt" Brax said as he placed a kiss on Charlie's hand "I promise"

Ruby walked along the beach by herself. The day had brought nothing new to the surface and Ruby was finding it hard to stick to her words; that if she found nothing, she would go back home and forget the whole thing. She was so sure that she was in the right place, she couldn't put her finger on why she had a strong vibe coming from the bay, but she knew that it mean t something to her; that she just had to keep her eyes firmly open and not give things one look, she had to give three and four; just to be sure.

As she continued to walk with her head lowered, Casey headed in her direction. He too thinking about Brax and what he was about to do. He had to see if Brax was okay, but at the same time, he didn't want to see him in the fight, trying to keep the peace between Angelo and Casey. Nearly colliding on the sand, Casey jumped back as he saw the girl infront of him close to tears

"Hey Rubes, what's wrong?" Casey asked as he heard her sniff

"Hey Case" Ruby replied as she wiped her face "I -er, its over"

"What is?" Casey asked

"I told mum that, if today I found nothing, then that would be it" Ruby looked to Casey "I don't want to give up, I just think I'm so close to finding her, to finding Charlotte and the missing part of my life"

"I thought you were happy with how things are?" Casey asked

"I am. But, Charlotte is half of who I am. I'm apart of her and she's apart of me. I never thought I had anything missing in my life, but I have this huge piece of something missing"

"But, Charlotte might not be what you're looking for" Casey suggested

"It is" Ruby replied

"How come you're so sure?" Casey asked

"I just am" Ruby replied "Where were you going anyway?" Ruby asked, noticing they were both stood in opposite directions, although next to each other

"I -Brax is in an organised fight at Angelo's and I'm sort of the reason behind it"

"What do you mean, the reason behind it?" Ruby asked

"Brax is fighting with a bloke to make sure Angelo stays away from me" Casey replied "It was the only way Brax could think of to keep me safe and Angelo away from the house"

"Oh my gosh!" Ruby gasped "What did Angelo do?"

"He's threatened to hurt me if Brax doesn't fight for him"

"Case" Ruby said as she placed her hand on his instinctively "I'm sorry"

"Its fine"

"Do you want me to come with you? I don't have to get back anytime soon"

"Only if you're sure?" Casey asked, hoping Ruby would still go with him as he wanted her there to spend more time with her and just to have some support form someone

he knew

"I'm sure" Ruby smiled as she turned to face the direction Casey was in

Angelo stood near the bar with his eyes firmly fixed on the door as eager men and women flocked in to see the fight that had them gripped from the posters around town. Angelo's grin widened -and rightly so- as five more poeple walked in, taking the total of customers to well over 150. Angelo quickly glanced over to Liam, who was behind the bar, lending the bar staff a hand as the demand for drink was worsening. Charlie leant against the bar with her glass of wine in hand; usually the glass would be half empty or it would be her third of fourth glass. But for some reason, Charlie couldn't drink it like she used to: Nerves were probably the likeliest sinario, but then Charlie thought, you'd drink more if you were nervous.

Not noticing Angelo had a firm gaze on her, she placed the glass down on the bar top and walked across the crowded room over to where Brax was stood, leanina against the wall with his arms folded across his chest. Angelo felt the jealousy run through him as he saw Charlie's delicate hand reach to Brax's arm, and how he reacted to the touch. Fearing the onlooks from rival business, Angelo barged through the crowd and over to where the couple stood, thinking they were safe from prying eyes "Charlie" Angelo said, trying to sound calm, but it came out as cross

"Angelo" Charlie replied, fearing what would happen next "I was, I was-"

"Comforting our brave fighter" Angelo praised as a rival walked behind him "I'm sure it has meant alot to him, and I'm sure he would love a beer to clam his nerves" Angelo smiled

"I'll go get one" Charlie quickly said as she escaped the glare of Angelo

Making sure she was out of ear shot, Angelo moved closer to Brax "Remember she is mine. You aren't good enough for her; you're just a cleaner. Remeber that" Angelo pushed Brax against the wall "After the fight, I want you gone. Leave the bay, never come back and keep away from Charlie. If I see you with her, you're brother is gonna have no one to look out for him" Angelo stared intently into Brax's eyes "Get me"

"Loud and clear" Brax replied "I'm gone"

"Good" Angelo replied before he walked off

Brax looked to the floor and sighed beofre looking back up to find Charlie stood a distance away, with a tear rolling down her face. Fighting every urge in his body, he refrained from walking over to her and comforting her. Instead, he made a small gesture toward her by placing his hand over his heart and then offering it out to her. Charlie wiped the tear from her face before she copied Brax's gesture.

They shared one last smile across the crowd as the bell sounded for the last five minutes before the beginning of the fight......

Great update.

Have I said I hate Angelo yet? Because, man, I do! :angry:

Charlie and Bianca stuff was soo sweet. They have a really nice friendship. :)

Looking forward to more :)
