Just watched episode 476. I haven't seen Ben's arrival yet so I can't comment on him.

Having seen a bit of Grant Mitchell, I think it's pretty fair to say that he's quite a slimey, arrogant character. Craig McLachlan does have a very good physique in the show etc but he definitely knows it. I'm not complaining though

Lance and Marilyn were so funny fussing over Martin. I really enjoyed that episode.

I can't quite believe how much the cast is going to change in the coming months.

I can understand what you all mean. I remember i was looking for new 2011 promos on youtube and that I was really dissapointed they were all about braxtons. I seem to belong to the minorityof viewers tht started watching show not from the current episodes but from beginning. I tried to watch 2011 episodes too, but the show is too dark. I don't have time to watch both era's now so I chose the early years.

Now Carly is playing around with Grant behind her new boyfriend's back. Meanwhile, why is Emma and Bobby being so fussy about the beauty contest and scheming things to disrupt the event??

EDIT: My mistake, Caravan park scene but not yet ...... won't be long......

Was there an episode today? (19 September) because my PVR recorded the tennis? Who cares about tennis? I want my daily fix of H&A: The Early years!

Oh yeah.....

Man of her dreams ay?

And what a revolting way of doing it, too, staging a fake fight I mean is that some kind of male ego contest, like the biggest man gets the girl? What a load of bull****.

And Emma needs taking down a peg or 2. How dare she denigrate guys for thinking girls are beautiful. What a pompous bitch!!

Really, what's your problem with Ben?

You had a problem with Steve, Uncle Phillip too.

So, he's done it. Ben Luccini, the charming "soldier boy", who is well respected by the likes of Alf and other pillars of society, for helping fight for the country that we love, yet possesses an attitude of self-importance that is enough to make your blood boil (evidenced by the way he has given his best mate Luke Cunningham (aka Dave) the attitude shown on-screen since arriving in Summer Bay), has really done it.

It has taken him just 7 episodes to do this. However many days this period represents (at 5 episodes a week) is unrealistically short to form a judgment final enough to decide this is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.

How does it take 7 episodes worth of time to get to know someone enough that you find them suitable as a live-in partner you want to give your whole self and your whole life to?

Is it really just "soap parlance", like some who have suggested, that wedding proposals in TV programs, are that hideously rushed. I should hope so, but judging from the real-life stories that I have read where couples claim "love at first sight" and "I just know from the very moment we first met, that he was the one", this sadly doesn't seem far from the disgracefully quick move Ben made based not on Carly's qualities (however snobby they are) but instead on an ego contest between him and Grant portrayed over the previous couple of episodes and culminating in a fake fight in the darkness outside Lance & Martin's hot dog stand.

Ben, Carly and Grant: THE AXIS OF EVIL
