Btw, does anyone know how you pronounce "Mouche"? It's such an unusual name.

I always assumed it rhymed with 'whoosh' - by the way, it's the French word for 'fly' (the insect) and colloquial French for handkerchief!

I really enjoyed the "Marty is dying" storyline! For all of Martin's scams and schemes over the years, this was the funniest and he wasn't even in on it! At first I thought he was deliberately trying to get Lance and Maz to think he was dying (it sounded like that from the phone call) but I soon realised he was oblivious. Was that just me? Anyway - a great fun farewell to his character (although he hasn't left just yet).

That was so funny that storyline!!

Goodbye Martin. :(

That storyline was made possible by the fallacy of one-sided phone conversations — notice in soaps that 90% of the time you only ever hear one side of the conversation when the actor is on the phone talking to the invisible, inaudible person on the other end of the line?

All we heard is Martin saying it's his last days and it will be quick, implying that he was about to die, whereas the invisible person on the other person of the phone (I presume) was the Defence Force telling him he's got a job in the Army.

I've now seen up to 505.Have to admit, the person I really ended up feeling sorry for in the "Where's the wedding?" storyline was Carly, who seemed to be caught in the middle and getting it in the neck from Bobby, who was typically going off half cocked.Tom and Pippa seemed to adopt a rather stubborn "If it's in Perth, then we're not going" attitude, while Ben understandably wanted his family there but didn't seem to recognise that Carly saw Tom, Pippa and the others as her family and wanted them there as well.

Although I kind of defended Don a while back, I did think he was a bit hard on Grant when he blamed him for the students' strike over the sailboards even though he tried to talk them out of it. That said, it was good to see him defending him against Vicki's accusations.Good to see Alf firmly on Grant's side as well and, surprisingly, more understanding than Ailsa of Emma's questionable tactics.

Not sure what to make of the "Martin's dying" plot.It almost came across as a comedy plot that didn't know it was a comedy plot at times, with the characters taking the idea seriously.Although the moment where Carly says "What's Martin always wanted that's been out of his reach?" and slowly everyone looks at her was laugh out loud funny. And it's nice that he finally got a kiss off her after two years of hoping.

Continuity at points is not great at the moment in 1990, is it? I mean, Carly hated Ben's mate Dave for the way he got so drunk yet she's an alcoholic! Hypocritical much?!

I am really enjoying Emma, she is an awseome character, Dannii Minogue is an excellent actress.

Sophie, you can never trick a former nurse by telling her you are sick when you are not. I've tried this several times with my own mum who was a former nurse. It does not work!

How many excuses can she come up with about reading aloud at school? Steven has found her out but how long til everyone does and she gets the help she needs?

LOL at Alf going mad over his crab.

I know they were trying to highlight Sophie's illiteracy leading to her being hurt, but even if she couldn't read the danger sign, I'd have thought she'd at least have wondered why there was a sign across the door as well as it being baracaded instead of just moving it all out of the way and going in
