beau_t Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I believe (to some degree) that Vinnie was a bit 'Martin Dibblish' and I think that's why I liked his character and was sad to see him go.... I think Vinnie had elements of Martin Dibble and also Adam Cameron and this is also why I liked him. I liked his relationship with both of them when they came back for (seperate) guest stints.

Agreed!!! I'm glad Adam's still around there, I had a great laugh recently when he planted the flea bomb and Ernie Jacobs walked in on it!!! I also laughed the other day when he 'organised dinner' by ordering a pizza and then got Marilyn (with Chickenpox) to pay for it Unfortunately we'll have to wait seven years for Vinnie to appear and 10 to see Martin and Lance again But you are right, Vinnie with Martin and Adam, what a formidable combo!!!

Any particular incident that turned you off Martin?? Or his personality in general??? What was your opinion on Lance?? I do miss Lance sometimes and his friendship with Sally. I do miss his antics with Martin but Martin can be very selfish and manipulating when he wants to be. He's treat Lance badly and Lance forgives him each time. For sure, Martin was nasty on occasion and it almost seemed like he 'used' poor old Lance at times....but Marty did really care for Lance and I'm sure he was sad about leaving him in the Bay....as for Sally, you'd really have to feel sorry for her, she's lost Tom after Lance left, will be hard times ahead for her.... I'm not sure about you but geez I was close to tears in Lance's last scene with Sally & Maz crying together

I'm pretty sure it was, Eye In The Storm was published in 1989 so would have still been a pretty new release at the time of this episode. That's a cheeky bit of product placement.
Skylover Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Just seen 533-537. A really enjoyable set of episodes. The Jensen family reminds me of the Barlows, because I don't really understand why they've been brought in...to just disappear a while later. I guess hey brought them in on a trial basis with a view to making them permanent, but decided to leave them as guests. The Walkers would be a modern day equivalent I suppose. Who else could see a mile of when Carly got that credit card that she was going to run into money trouble? Bless her... I have to say, it's nice to see th relationship between Carly and Pippa grow, a new dynamic has appeared there which wasn't there when Tom was in the show. Ben seems to have replaced Tom as the alpha male of Summer Bay House much to Steve's annoyance. It's been nice to have Bobby at the forefront of a storyline again after being a glorified extra in the Diner for so long.
