So, here we are, the eighties have been left behind and we're into a new decade. We've said goodbye to a few characters forever. Neville, Lynn, Stacey. But here we are 1990, in what was a year of change for the show, where we see a few old faces leave and a bunch of new characters arrive.

Ailsa must be due back soon?? Alf's been cranky in her absence....

Colourful clothes for a colourful character

I actually meant that most of the audience would rather he wasn't provided with clothes...unless they're just speedos of course

Matt, Adam and Maz make me literally laugh out loud some times! Funny and quite daft shenanigans with the store keys today, entertaining.

I'm looking forward to Viv's departure. I don't hate the character and I've enjoyed the exit storyline with Tammy and that they are going to get a happy ending with their mum. As others have pointed out, she just isn't a strong enough character to keep me interested.

Totally agree. I won't miss Viv. Unlike past characters such as Morag, Tom, etc, she won't be missed and won't leave such a huge gaping hole after her departure.

Guess I'm the only one who will miss her based on what I've read in the forum :(

I'm going to be sad to see Viv go to a certain extent, but only because I think Mouche is a great actress all-round and has been totally under-utilised. Dibble Investments™ - there are lots of people who miss Lance and Martin, I do :( But there are some great characters to drive the show forward and that's the most important thing.

Just watched 537-542. I wish they wouldn't set up Viv's departure making it seem like she's still going to be in contact when we know she isn'. I'm not familiar enough with the next 7 years or so to know but does Viv ever get mentioned once she'f left? Her and Steven seem to think they're going to get married in the future and Donald and Viv had a really lovely heart to heart, so it makes me kind of sad that they've cemented the character in the hearts of certain characters, and she'll never be heard of again. I do wonder what's going on with Rebecca these days...

Marilyn seems to have found her place in the show finally. She has been comedy gold this week, and so has Alf. Teaming them up has been great, and it now makes their 2010- friendship seem more plausible. Alf is hilarious when he gets angry, I think they're my favourite Alf moments. :D I feel sorry for Adam, everyone seems to have a go at him all the time but his heart's in the right place.

I know I say it almost every week, but it still astounds me how brilliant Kate Ritchie is. 10 years old and she's a vastly superior actress to many of the older cast. And I'm surprised she's still so prominent in the show, the end scene was even dedicated to her in episode 542. Tammy's character has somewhat made Viv more bearable. In that scene where Viv was having tea with Pippa, it made me realise how old she seems for her age.

A good set of episodes, the comedy stuff with Maz has probably been my favourite. The stuff with Ben/Carly/the furniture was so predictable but it also highlighted how little Ben and Carly know each other. Ben thought she'd be over the moon but Pippa and even Sally knew she wouldn't like it.
