Edward Skylover, a great assessment of Episodes 537-542....add that to what's going on in Sons & Daughters at the moment and it was a blockbuster week  As far as I can remember Viv never visits the Bay again, which is a shame...even if she & Steven lost contact, it would've been nice to see her return just to catch up with Fisher, who thought of her as a daughter....she was only going to Queensland, not overseas like Frank & Roo, so it shouldn't have been too much trouble to catch up....I remember Steven becomes obsessed with an older woman at some point soon (maybe?) and he will have forgotten about Viv but Fisher wouldn't....

As for Marilyn, the best part last week for me was when Alf apologised to her and she said she would lather him on calamine lotion (the look on Alf's face was priceless!!) But geez Alf was a cranky old bugger with that chickenpox!!!

In some ways it is a pity that Tammy didn't come to the Bay to live with Viv and Fisher before they went off with their mother....her friendship with Sally could've really developed....

And Alf is just being a wee bit hard on poor Adam at the moment, which continues....

He doesn't need chickenpox to be a cranky old bugger :P I wonder how many times Alf ends up apologising to Marilyn over the years?

I am going to miss Viv a little as I was always a fan of Mouche from way back to Butterfly Island. Anyone remember the Touch the Sun series of children shows from 1988? There was one called Princess Kate about a girl who finds out she was adopted; it had Justine Clarke as the title character, Rebekah Elmaloglou as the sister she never knew and also Mouche Phillips who played her friend, I think.

Comedy in H&A - does anyone think the light-hearted, funny moments seen in the Early Years are just not there in 2011? Should it be brought back? Why? Why not? Opinions please....

Dex has his moments but I think the show has definitely become too dark and the show is seriously lacking in the humour department; there's too much focus on violence, drugs, crimes, unhealthy relationships with less focus on community and friends - the teens don't seem to hang out together much these days, so there's not even much teenage mischief. As humorous as I find Dex, I think the show is missing the layabout type of character like Adam - the Drivel Boys are layabouts, but they're thugs who do nothing but cause trouble and I don't even find them likeable. 2012 needs an Adam or Vinnie.

Adam and Matt are idiots. Losing the shop keys honestly and Marilyn got fired because of it and it wasnt even her fault.

Steven is being selfish wanting Viv to stay in the Bay I can't believe he would honestly think Viv would give up the opportuinity to live with her mother

b2sb09, good call about the 2011 H&A....Dex has his comedic moments granted but it needs, as you say, a knockabout character like Adam....in my case, characters like Martin, Lance and Vinnie would be what the show needs and give it a spark....

As you rightly pointed out, there's too much focus on drug dealing etc and it's very grim and dark....maybe the younger audiences like that stuff nowadays but when I watched the show as a teen when it started, I enjoyed the antics of Martin & Lance....later there was Adam and Vinnie. Although Colleen's still good for a laugh

As for the River Boys, you seemed to have a dislike of them and I share that view....

I don't even rate them to be honest....I reckon Dodge was far scarier than any of them.....

Hey Dibble investments do you have any original ch7 airings of Early Episodes?

BobbyFM - unfortunately not anymore, what I did have on VHS was too old mouldy and scratchy (and besides nobody has VHS players anymore :( )

Sadly, all I've got now are a handful of Channel 7 H&A episode short adverts ranging between 1990 to 1995...

I guess that's why I'm counting my blessings for 7Two...

So you're looking for some early episodes???
