I'm really enjoying watching Carly evolve - she is still Carly, making the same mistakes, getting into daft situations, emotional, needy, grateful and funny. She is just older and maturing as she settles in a long term relationship. Ben isn't the best character by any means, but I don't have a problem with him and find the pair together more enjoyable to watch than Grant for instance, who I do get slightly bored with.

Ernie Jacobs is irritating, but it makes for good TV to stir the pot and I find his shenanigans with Matt, Adam and Marilyn entertaining and funny.

Opinions on the Ernie Jacobs character????

I am not wasting energy writing about Ernie Jacobs. The less said, the better. He and Paul Jensen are two of my least favourite characters right now.

Anyway, loved Adam and Matt today with their scheme. And poor Marilyn getting upset over having to take sides with Bobby and Alf. Although, I wish this election nonsense would wrap up soon. Same with Ben and Carly's wedding.

I know we're commenting on this with the benefit of hindsight and with at least some knowledge of what comes afterwards whereas at the time the writers probably didn't know what was going to happen a year in the future, but I think with regards to Vinnie you can watch his whole stint and see a certain growth in the character, from a boy to a man. I think that's the whole point of his arc. Yes, he's not his fun, but I think that's also the point.

But he was still a young man who was in his early 20s and as with a lot of characters on the history of the show, they seem to turn from being teenagers to middle age adults. Shane and Angel for instance. And especially Sally the wise old sage at 20+. Martin and Lance, Adam and Matt are like most people I know in there 20s. But are perceived as being losers.

I felt the Jane and Grant storyline was a bit rushed they met went on their first date and kissed in one episode.

Ernie is an awful man. Why can't Matt, Maz and Adam just move into a caravan? I'm sure that will be cheaper than living in a beach house and Pippa would be so more kind hearted than Ernie. Does Ernie even have a heart?

Amazing how cooperative Jane is to Grant's sexual advances (not even trying to fight him off), especially given how cold she appears to be (in contrast to how cute♥ she looks), and how quick he moved in on her.

I know she's only been in two episode but Jane is making me cringe most of the time. It feels like I'm watching someone acting which is a shame, but I can't say I'm all that interested in Grant's love life so that probably doesn't help.

I've noticed in the weeks since Tom's death until now, it seems to me Pippa has become more easy going and carefree. I've been trying to work out if its the writing that's changed (i.e not letting her get too stressed) or if Vanessa has altered her portrayal somehow? I just think she's really getting into the role in a different way and now she's about to leave!

Always like the bit of banter between Bobby and Carly, just like old times!

I don't like Jane much either. She also makes me cringe. It could be just me or I can't take her seriously as a cop.

I'm loving Ben more in every episode. He tries so hard to make things easy for Pippa.

Vicki is back. Is she related to Norman Coburn?

Yes. She's his daughter.

Loved Alf's rant at Jane - just goes to show that even the coppers don't faze him :D

Dag Dog, we love you :D

Adam and Matt's scam to keep the house - how funny was that!!!

Agreed - Jane's sudden change of heart toward Grant was a wee bit rushed.....

It's funny but I still picture Jo Mitchell (Jane) as the nurse's sister in

A Country Practice...

Adam and Matt's scam to keep the house - how funny was that!!!

I can hardly blame them though, the hideous rents and prices they charge for houses. For God sake, it's just a roof over your head, not a luxury reserved for the filthy rich! Housing is a basic human right — it's called shelter.

By the way, regarding Alf's DUI — remember when Shane was looking through the police computer right before the 1993–94 cliffhanger? He found Alf's record for drink-driving. This is the episode this was referring to!

I hope H&A TEY is still screening on 7Two when that episode comes up :)
