The hens night episode was definitely swinging towards the girls being on top and the guys being the looser of the piece. From Sophie winning the card game and the guys coming across as quite dopey to the 'girl power' attitude at the hens night. Its all in good fun I know and the guys will get their turn next week I'm sure but I was positive that episode was written by a women and yep it was. Haha

Lol I laughed at Pippa and Bobby's reaction to Wild Willy too.

1 week until the wedding!! Which means its almost Vanessa's final week as Pippa. I can't believe how fast its gone really, it always felt to me like she was in the role a lot longer than she actually was. Having said that, it does feel like ages ago since the Danny stuff, which I think was Vanessa Downings best storyline all in all.

What was the Danny stuff about???

I was going to write you a synopsis of what happened but this pretty much explains it all:

:)

It was a gritty storyline and we got to see Pippa in a really awkward predicament. The episode after he asked her to kill him was particularly gripping, especially because my memory on the storyline was pretty much non-existent and I genuinely didn't know what was going to happen.

I always find the mathematics of episodes quite difficult to comprehend. For instance, one evening spending 2 hours uploading 50 episodes to the archive, well that was 1% of the show. What storylines are we half way to? Angel's arrival. I can remember saying that we were halfway through Roo's stint, a time at which she had never returned, and now we've almost had as much without as with her. All those characters from the unique 1988 season, gone.

One thing that surprises me is that now in 2012, it's the same number of years between the Five Life repeats and the original UK airings, as between the repeat and now, yet because one has a copy of that episode on their video shelf, what seemed like terrible chasm, now has flown by.

Has it been 12 years since Home and Away swapped channels in the UK? If so that would mean its been on FIVE the same amount of time it was on ITV wouldn't it?

Very nearly, a scary thought really where all the time is going.

It started on ITV in February 1989 and finished in June 2000 (11 years and 4 months). Channel 5 were able to start broadcasting in July 2001 so they're currently at 10 years 7 months.

I think episodes that air next Jan/Feb in Oz will make it 50/50 in terms of episodes. Another thought is that in about 150 episodes time, Leah, if she is still on the show, will have been a cast member for exactly half of it.

Colleen's current stint will have went over the 50% mark late last year, and I guess at some point near the end of 2013, start of 2014, Ailsa could becoming a character that was solely linked to the first half of the show.
