1990 Episode Discussion

I've seen upto 568 now.

It seems to be going through a boring patch at the moment. Nothing of note seems to be happening and B stories such as the Vicky/Emma rivalry and the council elections are being dressed up as A stories. However, I still maintain that I'd rather have these stories than the rubbish 89 stuff like the Danny Price story. They're much more character building.

The 1990 antagonists are SO much better than previous ones though. I find Ernie Jacobs fascinating and he's easily one of my favourite guests the show has had in its entire 500+ episode existence. The actor seems to have him down to a T, he almost has this comical aspect to him, he's endearing despite being a baddie. And although I thought Vicky was terrible in the past, the actress seems to have come on in leaps and bounds.

I agree with all your opinions on Jane though, Josephine isn't the best actress IMO but there you are.

Interesting to see you discussing facts about the show and timeframes.

Lastly, Marilyn seems to have already become a legend in her own right. Some of the dialogue isn't necessarily intended to have a huge effect, but Emily's delivery brings everything to life and makes ordinary dialogue much more comical. I loved her line in 568 that Alf and Ernie has been taking rude lessons from each other

I agree. She's very cute, she has a very special way of saying certain lines, take today for instance when she gave Carly and Ben the wedding present. That was lovely, and her "so do you want it" was really nice.

I've never been a huge fan of Pippa, I like her, but at times she's annoyed me a little bit. But I have to say, I've really enjoyed her since Tom's death, she seems to have really grown as a character and she’s been very strong but at the same time very positive, cheerful and has been so kind to everyone. It’s a shame she leaves soon.

Steven is MAD for turning down a hot, beautiful piece like that with a foreign accent. I thought Steven was intelligent, now I wonder what is rattling around inside that skull of his to turn down a beautiful girl like that!!

Francesca♥ is HOT, HOT, HOT♥:wub::wub: ♥ Steven needs to take that opportunity while he has it because it ain't gonna last!!!!!
