^Yeah I agree. I think the old time slot of 4.30pm (or was it 4pm?) is a much better time to air the show. That way everyone home from school could get to watch too.

Unfortunately, the 4:30pm timeslot played a large part in the instability and unreliability of the scheduling of the last repeat run, and I believe led to its eventual demise back in 2001/2002. The new digital TV environment makes for a better chance but I still feel it is safer for the repeat run's future to keep showing it early in the morning.

Opinion - would Pippa and Fisher have made a great couple??

If Pippa actually did take a shine to Fisher, would it have been a match?? Would it have lasted the distance??

Wow, great question. I don't know, I suppose the writers can make any relationship work if they feel like it. Fisher and Marilyn couldn't have been more different and they worked. They had a lot of chemistry. I'm not sure though if there's any chemistry between Pippa and Fisher.

Certainly from seeing Donald and Pippa #1 interact, I would say there was little chemistry between them and I wouldn't have wanted them together. I can't judge Donald and Pippa #2 yet so I'll give it a couple of weeks before I judge first.

I'm fiding it a bit creept that Donald has taken a shine to Pippa to be honest  Which is strange because I loved Maz and Donald...

I don't think Pippa and Fisher would work either - VD Pippa or DL Pippa, they both seem to have the same sort of friendship on screen, i.e no romantic chemistry whatsoever! haha I think it would have been all wrong unless they decided to change Fisher as a character.

Although they did have him live with younger characters like Viv, Shane/Angel and it worked really well, espeically Shane and Angel. Hm, I just couldn't see him living in Summer Bay House being father to the likes of Sally, Sophie etc

I felt quite like cringing when he revealed his feelings to Pippa, it was so awkward.

I haven't seen that yet but I can imagine. I'm glad the writers chose (I'm assuming here) not to get them together, but I think it made sense for Donald's character to fall for Pippa. I mean, he has been alone for such a long time and I can imagine him feeling that as Pippa's vulnerable she may like to fill the void as well so to speak. That makes it sound like he's preying on her which I don't mean, I'm sure he had the best intentions but I still think her vulnerability is what drove his romantic feelings for her.

I'm sure he also saw a lot of attractive qualities in Pippa, she is kind and caring and funny, and she is quite a traditional "stay at home" mother which is something I imagine old-fashioned flathead would be attracted to.

I think if it was written in a well executed and believable way perhaps. Remember two years ago. Compare Fisher to then and now. If I was to tell you that in 500 episodes time, Fisher would have repaired the majority of his close family relationships, would have a loving father/daughter relationship with Bobby etc. and would no longer be seen as the villian of the piece, then more than likely you'd say that would never happen, yet, it did and it worked very well.
