Even though you knew it was going to happen, was it strange to see an 'imposter' suddenly playing Pippa? Alexx says she was just chopping vegetables in the kitchen, I can't wait to see it.

Was she facing away from the camera then suddenly 'hello FakePippa!'

Lol, yes it was like that. She was facing down, and Steven, Paul and Emma were watching tv. Steven then went over to her and started talking about going to the shops. She then looked up, and was a 'shock' moment.

I don't know if it is just me, but did anyone else think that it was a bit too "forced"? It was like they were trying to shove it down our throats that there is a new Pippa. Her scene in the shop with Bobby and Marilyn was just pointless, in my opinion.

And Ryan, yes, that last line from VD was very apt and poignant. She'll always be my favourite Pippa.

I dont think it was forced, they just gave her exactly the same things Pippa would usually do in an average episode, including a general natter in the store.

Gah Paul is sooo annoying. He overreacts about everything, every line is so forced.

This whole plot to get Emma cleared will backfire, it's painfully obvious. Enjoy it blowing up in your face, Paul. And nice idea Steve.

I envy Paul though, spending time with Vicki. And she enjoys Back to the Future, what a girl.

What a brilliant week in H&A TEY!!!!

We had:- the Wedding Reception (complete with Fisher getting drunk); Fisher showing his human side when rejected by Pip; Jane showing her human side with the death of her colleague; a new Pippa; Vicki's scheming to lure Paul and his & Steven's counter-plans....

The Best Storyline of the Week Award goes to Maz - her self-defence lessons with Steven; her wish to join the Police; and wanting to go back to School....

And plenty of laughs too - Maz's attempts to throw Alf over, resulting in his ankle going again and Adam mocking Maz by saying 'Dirty Marilyn, come on sucker make my day' in a squeaky voice :D

Vicki endeared herself to me by wanting to see 'Back to the Future 2' - sensible girl :P

This was the best week in a long time in my opinion (though the previous week with Ben's bucks party was close) - whereas some of the previous weeks were tedious and painful to watch, last week was an absolute joy to watch!!!

Perhaps the corner has been turned and we're in for some exciting stories ahead :)

I really enjoyed the storylines and the only characters I detest are Jane and Paul. It was a great week, am I awful in saying I enjoyed this week way more than HA 2012 so far?

Marilyn is a gem. She's my favourite character at the moment. She just lights up the screen.

I've just seen DL first episode as Pippa. Well that was definitely a strange experience.

When Paul, Emma and Steven were chatting in the living room and Pippa was in the background, she looked remarkably similar to VD's Pippa. Did wardrobe try and make DL's hair look like VD because it does look remarkably similar and I don't remember it being like that in later years.

All I can say is I think it's fascinating how DL goes on to make Pippa become such a Home and Away icon in later years because although she is doing a good job at the moment, it certainly does feel like an imposter. :)

The Pippa I've just seen in episode 586 is different in appearance only, imo. Everything else is still Pippa, she's still a mum, still cracking cute little jokes, she still dresses the same. Yes, Debra's Pippa does become slightly more downbeat and 'wise', but it doesn't happen instantly, it's just a gradual character development from the sh*tstorm Summer Bay throws her way from 1990 onwards.

I know Michael hasn't even appeared yet, but I do feel as though his arrival and Pippa falling for someone so soon after Tom will feel slightly unrealistic. Tom was the love of her life - and therefore I don't think she would feel ready to move on so quickly.

Having said that, I haven't seen the episodes yet so I'll wait before I make judgement. I've never seen Debra when she looked so young, she would have only been about 33 at this point, it's remarkable how young Pippa is. :)

It looked to me as if they "frizzed" Debra's hair a little to make it more the same shape as Vanessa's. I have to say that apart from appearance and obviously voice, I think Debra is playing Pippa exactly the same as she's always been. Over time she will make the character her own, and the writers will begin to incorporate that too, and eventually she will become the more traditional wise - older than her years - widow we know and love.

The scene outside the caravan with Jane was great where she talked about her life up to this point. I am probably reading too much into it but it seemed like that was written as a sort of "introduction" to Debra's Pippa. In fact "introduction" is probably the wrong word. More of a "reassurance" that "yes this is the same character and see how nice she is!?!"

In a way I was more interested in watching the other actors and how they handled talking to Debra's Pippa, if they found it difficult to handle that a different actress was playing the part of someone they had built up strong bonds with. Would they have difficulty keeping eye contact or try too hard to be "natural" as if nothing had changed, and inevitably make it obvious? And I have to say, it was completely un-noticable.
