I agree with what you all are saying about current H&A.I stopped watching regularly about 10 years ago,but I think the show looks so much worse now from what I have seen of it.I am glad none of my favorite characters from when I was watching are in the current series so they can't be ruined.

Back to the 1990 episodes. It was great seeing Blake and Karen arrive today.Marilyn as usual was so entertaining in todays episode.I don't have a problem with Carly making that roast for herself and Ben.Maybe she will decide to share with the others because Pippa has done so much for her.

Wanting to eat a good quality roast for a celebration, doesn't make you a snob. Besides, the look on Carly's face suggested she may share it with the rest of the family.

Another celebration? Hasn't she had enough "celebrations" already??? I call it extravagance, and her "relationship" with Ben is just overindulgence of her fantasies about the fairy tale of marriage, except she and Ben "do it" under Tom & Pippa's roof instead of their own or at least his dog kennel caravan (where dogs like Ben and Carly belong anyway).

Blake and Karen, they annoy me already. I guess they're here a while??

I actually don't mind them. Its obvious Karen worships the ground Ailsa walks on and i hope Blake will lose some of his attitude but they will be interesting to watch.

Alf was really angry about being saddled with two kids he clearly does not want. I would have been the same though if someone didn't talk to me about it first.

When does Paul leave? So tired of him.

Blake and Karen's uncle appears to have the worlds biggest hands.

Belinda Jarrett's acting is a bit ropey at the moment (as her is dress sense: what's with the waistcoats and ribbons etc). The women with the poodle perm seemed a bit too happy with her cameo at the bus stop, but it's been an interesting week of episodes.

Oh, and has a reason been given for Alf redecorating the house, he only did the living room 2 years ago?

I imagine this is the makeover where the fireplace changes, they get pink leather sofas and part of the bar is removed.

As for enthusiastic extras, I thought the receptionist at the Doctor's office was hilarious.

I was thinking the same thing when Alf and Ailsa were discussing the rooms being due for a coat of paint. I guess TPTB just wanted to update the set so threw it into the episodes. I have to say I prefer that to sets changing overnight with the characters apparently not noticing!

I imagine this set makeover may also be because of the extension they're adding - a kitchen, and so possibly the alterations here are to allow the kitchen to become part of the set. Always interesting these little things that crop up as time has passed, that you have never noticed before or are surprised by. I didn't expect to wait 600 episodes for the first scene in the Stewart kitchen, nearly 200 episodes before we saw in Fisher's house, I never realised Celia had a house.

One thing I'm wondering is the current stores departure, because seeing as how Alf is soon running a different one, it's changing seems pointless. With the exception of about 3 minutes, I have never seen anything between now and 715. The 600's being a particular dead spot in actual footage it appears.
