Does anyone else feel at the moment that the writers are just playing for time with these storylines at the moment. All of them (except Karen's) feel like they are going nowhere and aren't adding to anything

I wonder whether that's because we have knowledge of where the storylines actually went.

What if Tracey Turner had become a more integral part of Summer Bay?

What if we could remember if Margaret Lynch had amounted to something?

What if Marilyn's parents were ever mentioned again?

What about if Karen had reverted back to her goody-two-shoes ways?

You see what I mean, because we know some of these storylines have negligible effect on the long term of the Bay, they seem trivial, but in the day, not knowing how they would end, they would have been much better.

Is Mrs Lynch played by the same actress that played head mistress of another school in 2002 who had a son called Ethen that fancied Brodie? If so, I wish they kept it as the same character ad made it her nephew or something.

Yep that's correct, principal of Reefton Lakes High, another lost opportunity for some long term continuity

Wow nice catch^

Shame about Marilyn's non-parents (the nice ones) deciding to leave town and despite promising to keep in touch, never actually appearing again.

I actually think Karen's storyline is the one that seems to be missing in action at the moment:Aside from one scene of her being surly to Ailsa, there's been no real indication of an attitude for her for about three weeks and viewers would probably agree with Alf that it's not really worth worrying about.

I guess it's all in a holding pattern until Revhead comes back.

That said, she has abruptly become very pro-Tracey/anti-Sophie when not so long ago she wanted them to be friends.I'm kind of up and down with Sophie, I felt sorry for her when no-one was believing her but now that they all know Tracey set her up she seems to have reverted to the constant snarky behaviour from when Tracey first appeared. It is nice that her friendship/sisterly relationship with Sally seems to be weathering the storm though.

Well, I guess that answers the question of what happened to Marilyn's parents.Getting rid of Max and Heather does seem like a bit of a waste.(On a vaguely related note, the references to Sally still being in touch with her aunt and uncle stopped very early on in 1990.)

Nick was a bit of a twit with his reaction to Lou kissing him, I'm surprised she came round so quickly and easily.Maybe such views were more common in the early '90s, it's not that long since Blake said something similar.
