Episode 7

Tina manages to open her eyes as passers-by gather around her.

Woman: What happened love?

*Tina slurs in her speech due to the concussion*

Man: The ambulance is on its way.

*When the ambulance arrives, Tina continues slurring with her speech.*

Paramedic 1: Can you tell us what happened?

Tina: Tiffany...Rongo....

Paramedic 2: Is that your name?

Tina: *shaking her head* Attacked...me....

*Both paramedics look at each other*

Paramedic 2: I'll inform the police. *calls the police on their cell phone* Hi, I would like to report an assault on a girl approximately 15-20 years old.

Tina: *slurring* It....hurts....

(Meanwhile, Pippa and Ian are watching the local news when someone knocks on the door.)

Matthew: I'll get that. *opens the door to find Mrs Dudley standing there* Hi, Mrs Dudley.

*Pippa and Ian approach Mrs Dudley*

Ian: What can we do for you?

Mrs Dudley: Did you hear about that vicious assault on that young Tina Denkova?

Pippa: *shocked* No.

Mrs Dudley: I believe that girl you're fostering is responsible?

Pippa: Which one?

Mrs Dudley: The one with the long black hair in a braid.

*Pippa and Ian look at each other*

Ian: You don't mean...

Pippa: Yes, Ian. Tiffany could have assaulted her.

(In a street, not far from the Carrington Café, Tiffany is running when she hears police sirens from a distance.)

Tiffany: Oh s**t!

*Tiffany hides under a tree as a police car drives away blaring its siren*

Tiffany: That was close.

Later that evening, Ursula is drinking some scotch in Stephanie's bedroom when she hears Stephanie and Tiegan coming upstairs.

Stephanie: Do you think Tiffany is that violent?

Tiegan: Who knows? I never liked her right from the start.

*Ursula quickly hides the bottle as both girls enter the bedroom*

Tiegan: You ready for bed already, Ursula?

Ursula: Yes. It has been a long day.

Stephanie: I guess you're still shaking off that jet lag.

*Ursula just nods*

Tiegan: I might head downstairs. Home Improvement is on TV and I don't want to miss it.

Stephanie: I'll be there in two minutes, Tiegz. I want to talk to Ursula first.

*Tiegan nods before heading back downstairs*

Stephanie: I get the feeling that something is wrong.

Ursula: What makes you think that?

Stephanie: I don't know. I just worry about you.

Ursula: Trust me, Steph. I'll be fine.

Stephanie: That's all I want to hear.

*Ursula and Stephanie kiss each other on the cheek and hug*

Stephanie: I'll be back shortly.

Ursula: Okay.
*Stephanie heads downstairs. Once Stephanie's gone, Ursula lays on the bed and begins to cry.*

Ursula: *crying* This is the first time I've lied to my best friend.

- As Tina slowly recovers from her injuries in hospital, Tiffany is caught trying to leave town by Pippa.

- Tiegan is offered by Denise Drysdale to be interviewed on her afternoon talk show

Episode 8

November 12, 1998

A few days later, Tiegan is in the kitchen making a sandwich when the phone rings.

Tiegan: Hello? Yes, this is Tiegan Brook.

Ian: *to Pippa* I wonder who she's talking to?

Pippa: Sounds like someone important.

Tiegan: I will be more than happy to do that! Thank you so much! *hangs up the phone* Guess what? Guess what?

Pippa/Ian: What?

Tiegan: That was Denise Drysdale on the phone. She wants to interview me on her afternoon talk show.

Pippa: That's great Tiegan!

Tiegan: I have to fly to Melbourne for the show.

Ian: When are you going?

Tiegan: Next Tuesday.

Pippa: Congratulations. *gives Tiegan a hug*

*Ian hugs Tiegan as well*

Tiegan: Thanks.

*Ursula comes downstairs*

Ursula: Have you seen Steph?

Tiegan: She said she was going to see Tina.

Ursula: Oh. I just wanted to talk to her.

*Stephanie arrives home at that very moment*

Stephanie: I'm back.

Tiegan: How's Tina?

Stephanie: She's slowly recovering. Why are you so cheerful, Tiegz?

Tiegan: I got an interview on Denise!

Stephanie: That's excellent! *hugs Tiegan*

Tiegan: Ursula has something to tell you, by the way.

Stephanie: What is it?

Ursula: I just wanted to say that you're a great friend and I'm glad that I'm staying here.

Stephanie: That means a lot.

*Ursula hugs Stephanie*

Pippa: I'm just going to the supermarket. I need to buy a chicken for tonight's dinner.

Ian: Don't be too long.

Pippa: I won't. *heads out the door*

*Ursula turns around and looks guilty*

As Pippa is driving to the supermarket, she spots Tiffany trying to hike a ride.

*Pippa pulls over and gets out of the car*

Tiffany: Get lost!

Pippa: Is fleeing town the answer to your problems?

Tiffany: What's it to you?!?

Pippa: Tina could have serious injuries because of your little stunt! Do you have any remorse?

Tiffany: Whatever! I'm done talking to you now. *goes towards a car*

*Pippa grabs Tiffany by the wrist*

Pippa: YOU ARE NOT LEAVING UNTIL WE TALK!!!
*Tiffany glares at Pippa*

- Stephanie discovers two bottles of scotch in her bedroom and questions Ursula about it

- Tiffany rejects Pippa

- Tiegan and Matthew decide to save the Carrington Café after Mr Jarvis decides to sell up

Tiffany is continuing to glare at Pippa as they stand on the road.

Pippa: Well, I'm waiting.

Tiffany: For what? A written invitation?

Pippa: For an explaination as to why you attacked Tina!

Tiffany: Well, I was just looking after myself!

Pippa: And that's your excuse for attacking an innocent girl?

Tiffany: Innocent my a***! She's like the rest of these hicks in Carrington Ranges!

Pippa: What sort of attitude is that, Tiffany?

*Tiffany just rolls her eyes*

Pippa: I want you to be part of our family.

Tiffany: No!

Pippa: You do realise that pushing people away isn't going to get you far in life, sweetheart.

Tiffany: F**K OFF! Go back to your nice house and your stuck-up family, Mary Poppins!

*Pippa dejectedly gets back into her car and drives away*

(Pippa arrives home a few minutes later and tells Matthew and Tiegan what went down.)

Pippa: I don't think Tiffany is coming back.

Tiegan: *sarcastically* Hooray!

Pippa: I'll phone Leanne Martin from the department first thing tomorrow.

Matthew: You sure that's wise?

Pippa: She has a right to know what's going on, Matthew.

Matthew: I suppose you have a point.

Pippa: Where did Ursula and Stephanie get off to?

Tiegan: They went to the shops. Should be back soon.

Pippa: Right. *smiles weakly*

Matthew: I think you need a hug.

Pippa: Oh thanks Matthew.

*Matthew hugs Pippa*

The next day (Friday), Tiegan and Matthew are heading to the Carrington Café when they see a "For Sale" sign on the window.

Tiegan: What?!?

Matthew: Looks like Mr Jarvis is selling up.

*Tiegan and Matthew enter the café*

Mr Jarvis: Hello kids.

Tiegan: I hear you're selling this place.

Mr Jarvis: Indeed I am. What's it to you Miss Gladiators?

Tiegan: Don't be sarcastic with me, Mr Jarvis! My foster brother and I only asked a question!

Mr Jarvis: I have no time for this place anymore. I've decided to run a restaurant in the United States.

Matthew: That sounds cool!

Mr Jarvis: It sure is mate.

Tiegan: I won't miss you that's for sure.

*Mr Jarvis just shakes his head and walks back into the kitchen*

Matthew: What are we going to do?

Tiegan: We HAVE to save the Carrington Café! It's been the icon of Carrington Ranges for 30 years!

Matthew: We can't buy it. We don't have the money.

Tiegan: Just hope whoever buys it is nicer than Mr Jarvis.

*Matthew and Tiegan start giggling*

(At Pippa and Ian's, Stephanie is making the beds in her room when she sees two scotch bottles fall out of Ursula's bed.)

*Stephanie picks the bottles up*

Stephanie: Ursula?

Ursula: Yes?

Stephanie: Can you come in here please?

*Ursula heads upstairs and sees Stephanie holding the scotch bottles*

Stephanie: What were these doing under your bed?

Ursula: I don't know how they got there.

Stephanie: Don't give me that!

Ursula: I'm telling you the truth.

Stephanie: Have you been drinking?

Ursula: No!

Stephanie: TELL THE TRUTH URSULA!!!

*Ursula looks upset*

- Stephanie feels betrayed by Ursula and wants nothing to do with her

- Tiffany is ordered back to Pippa and Ian's

- Matthew joins the local youth centre

Episode 10

An angry Stephanie is waiting for Ursula to explain about the scotch bottles.

Stephanie: Do you drink or not?!?

Ursula: All right! Yes, I do drink!

*Stephanie looks shocked*

Stephanie: How long have you been drinking?

Ursula: Since I was 14.

Stephanie: So, you thought you could be deceitful and hide the alcohol in MY bedroom while you were a guest in this house?!? How dare you!

Ursula: I'm sorry Stephanie. I just...

Stephanie: YOU KNOW WHAT URSULA NUNES?!? YOU CAN PACK YOUR BAGS AND LEAVE BECAUSE I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU ANYMORE!!!! YOU BETRAYED MY TRUST, NOT TO MENTION LIE TO ME!!! *storms off*

*Ursula collapses onto the bed and starts to cry*

(Meanwhile, Matthew is at the local youth centre having just joined.)

*Three girls stare at Matthew as they are playing pool*

Julia Gardner: That guy is pretty cute.

Michelle Lucas: Indeed he is, Julia.

Tanya Copeland: Michelle, you've GOT to be kidding.

Michelle: And why is that?

Tanya: He's a complete dork!

Julia: Shut up, Tanya.

Michelle: I'm so much better looking anyway.

Julia: Says who?

Tanya: Ladies, I'M the better looking one.

Michelle/Julia: Shut up, Tanya!!!

*Tanya throws her hands in the air before resuming playing pool with her friends*

Matthew: *walking past* Hello girls.

Tanya: He said hello to us!

Michelle: His voice is SO sexy too!

Julia: I hope he starts at Carrington Ranges High next year. I wonder what his hobbies are?

Michelle: Better than some of your hobbies, Julia.

Tanya: Have to agree with Michelle on this one.

Julia: How can I get you both to understand my hobby? Which is...talking in a deep voice.

Tanya: Were you born a male or something?

Julia: *in her normal voice* Very funny, Tanya!

*Michelle, Julia and Tanya all start laughing*

Later that afternoon, Leanne Martin from DoCs arrives at the Routledge's with Tiffany.

Tiffany: I don't want to go back here!

Miss Martin: Tough! This is your foster home now and I'm ordering you to go back so Pippa and Ian and keep an eye on you!

Tiffany: Get stuffed!

*Miss Martin drags Tiffany inside*

Miss Martin: I have one of your charges, Pippa!

Pippa: Where did you find her?

Miss Martin: At a bus stop. *to Tiffany* Do you have anything to say to Pippa?

*Tiffany just storms upstairs and slams her bedroom door*

Pippa: Thanks for bringing her back.

Miss Martin: No worries.

*When Miss Martin has gone, Tiffany is laying on her bed when Pippa comes in.*

Tiffany: GET OUT!!!

Pippa: I'm not going anywhere, young lady! You and I are going to talk about your behaviour!

Tiffany: Well, I don't want to listen!

Pippa: That is just too bad sweetheart because you are going to listen to every word I say and you won't be leaving your bedroom until I do!

*Tiffany looks angry*

Pippa is refusing to let Tiffany leave her bedroom.

Pippa: You are going to listen to every word I say and you won't be leaving your bedroom until I do!

*Tiffany looks angry*

Tiffany: Would you like a punch in the face?!?
Pippa: Threats of violence isn't going to help, Tiffany!

Tiffany: MOVE!!!!

Pippa: No! *blocks the door so Tiffany can't get out*

Tiffany: LET ME THE F**K OUT!!!

*Her screaming causes Tiegan and Ian to race upstairs*

Ian: What's going on in there?

Pippa: I've got it handled, Ian! Everything is under control.

Tiffany: I WANNA GET OUT OF HERE!!! MOVE THE F**K AWAY FROM THE DOOR!!!
*loud banging noises are heard*

Tiegan: I'm going in here!
Ian: Tiegan! Don't!
*Tiegan throws the door open and pushes Tiffany back*

Tiegan: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TREATING PIPPA WITH SUCH DISRESPECT YOU LITTLE BITCH?!? YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A CRIMINAL! THAT'S RIGHT, A CRIMINAL!!!

*Tiffany storms out of the house*

Tiffany: *from outside* FIND ME ANOTHER HOME!!!!

Tiegan: You okay Pippa?

Pippa: I'll be fine, Tiegan. *to Ian* Phone Leanne.

Ian: Will do. I've had just about enough of that malicious brat! *walks off*

*Tiegan hugs Pippa*

At the Carrington Youth Centre, Matthew is playing pool when Michelle Lucas approaches him.

Michelle: Hey cutie.

Matthew: Oh, hey there. I seen you with your friends earlier.

Michelle: Has anybody ever told you that you've got a sexy voice?

*Matthew blushes*

Matthew: Why, no.

Michelle: I think you do.

Matthew: Thanks.

Michelle: How rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself to ya. My name's Michelle Lucas.

Matthew: Matthew Conroy.

*they shake hands*

Michelle: I know we just met, but would you like to go out with me sometime.

Matthew: I'd like that. *smiles*

Michelle: Cool! Meet you at the Carrington Café tomorrow arvo around 2pm.

Matthew: Awesome! See you then.

*Michelle leaves and returns to Julia and Tanya who look FAR from happy*
Michelle: I asked him out! I asked him out!

Julia: How annoying!

Michelle: What?

Tanya: What if WE wanted to ask him out?!?

Michelle: Well, you snooze you lose! *laughs*

*Tanya walks away angrily*
Julia: Wait up, Tanya! *goes after her*

Michelle: Some best friends you are! *sighs*

The next day (Saturday), Tiegan is getting into a taxi to go to the airport.

Tiegan: I'll ring you when I get to my hotel room.

Pippa: We'll be watching you on TV.

Tiegan: Don't miss the interview.

Stephanie: We won't.

*Tiegan waves at them as the taxi drives off*

Ursula: I hope she does well. What do you think Steph?

*Stephanie just glares at Ursula and heads back in the house*

Ursula: Please Stephanie. I'm sorry I lied to you. It was the last thing I wanted to do.

Stephanie: Shut up, Ursula. You are so full of excuses! *storms upstairs*

*Ursula breaks down into tears*

(Later that morning, Miss Martin is talking to Pippa and Ian.)

Pippa: What happens to her now?

Leanne: Well, she has to go to the police station to be charged. From here, I think she'll be on remand at a youth detention centre.

*Tiffany storms over to Leanne's car and throws her suitcases in the boot*

Tiffany: Are we leaving Hicksville or what?!?

Leanne: Just get in the car.

*Tiffany gets into the car*

Pippa: Tiffany...I hope your treat your new foster family with respect.

*Tiffany sticks her rude finger up at Pippa and Ian as Leanne drives off*

Ian: I'm glad she's gone.

Pippa: Oh, Ian. I feel like such a failure.

*Ian hugs Pippa*
