WHOA WHOA WHOA. Agree to disagree. I hated Robbie but love Dex. I guess that's why we have these polls though to see where the opinions of the consensus lie.

I don't know about anyone else, but with me for the most part, it's a combination of what a charecter did on screen combined with the performance of the actor that played them AND the success of the actor post H&A. Like ISLA Fisher's many big screen rom coms and Indiana Evans' string of roles [h2o, Crownies, Blue Lagoon etc].

yes... but Dex is a current character, and it is about 7(?) years since Robbie was on air in Oz/UK, about 5 years ago here. So it is very likely that Dex is beating Robbie in this poll. I guess that dex is in top 10, he seems to be a popular character on this site.

One thing that crossed my mind was possibly trying to hold a Most Popular Character 1991, in which people were only allowed to vote for characters that appeared on the repeats and then only in the storylines that had taken place, but then I thought might be impossible to do. People will always have thoughts of what comes next playing on their thoughts.

Robbie is quite strange in that he finished 33rd in the 2006 version, but was up to 16th in 2008, 28th in 2010, 34th this time so he is now almost as popular as he was towards the end of his stint, and the previous two times he more popular than he was on the show.

I think Dex reminds me more of Joey than Robbie. I didn't like Robbie, I found him irritating and he was always shouting.

I had to like the character/actor 1st, and I'm one of the people who referred Chris' character as "Plank". Re Matilda, the bulimia storyline - epspecailly when she called herself ugly, worthless etc whilst in hospital - was OUT OF THIS WORLD excellent !!!!

I referred to Kim as being a Plank too he was in 2004 but he did improve as for Matilda's bullimia storyline being "out of this world" excellent have to agree to disagree "I'm ugly- I won't eat..." "...Ok over it now I have a gay boyfriend" Eating didorders affect people for years.

I can see your point, but i also loved Indiana's performance when Maddie "broke" ...... i.e. the whole "You're a dobber, and no one like dobbers" thing. Was also cooool that Madie spoke French in her early days - wish that had of continued occasionally throughout her run AND she had some KILLER one liners. Like "Yesterday was National "Who am I?" Day" about Jade and "When did you book in for a hip replacement, Grandma?" to Kirsty.
