July 16, 1991

On Tuesday, Tracey and the gang head back to Warrawong High for the start of Term 3.

Tracey: It feels so great to be back at school.

Janae: For some maybe.

Sabrina: Are you still annoyed that Imoska is coming back to our school?

Janae: *through clenched teeth* Yes!

Peter: Don't sweat it Janae. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Janae: Doubt it.

*They see Lilly walking towards them*

Sabrina: She has a lot of nerve showing up here.

Tracey: Let's not cause trouble. Be civil.

Janae: Imoska will let along just fine with her!

Jacob: Oh Janae. *starts laughing*

Lilly: Hey everyone.

Tracey/Jacob: Hey Lilly. *walk off*

Peter: Bestie! *hugs Lilly* How were your holidays?

Lilly: Great. I stayed over at my cousin's house down at Camden.

Peter: Cool.

*Sabrina and Janae give each other a funny look.*

Lilly: And WHAT are you girls doing?!?

Janae: Just thinking how pathetic you are.

Sabrina: That's right...mutt.

*Janae and Sabrina walk off*

Lilly: Like seriously, build a bridge and get over it!

Peter: Not much you can do though.

Lilly: *sadly* I know.

(Meanwhile, Alaina and Jasper are getting ready for their first day at Warrawong High. Alaina will be in Year 11, Jasper in Year 10.)

Alaina: I'm so excited. But this uniform is so daggy.

Jasper: It doesn't look that bad on me, to be honest.

Alaina: Oh shut up turkey brain!

Jasper: At least I have a brain unlike you!

Alaina: I'm dreading next year.

Jasper: Why?

Alaina: Ebony starts high school.

Jasper: Now, that I'm dreading.

Alaina: After school, we'll meet up and talk through our day. Got it?

Jasper: Sure thing.

*Alaina smiles*

After roll call, Tracey and the gang head to their English class.

Tracey: Of all the classes on the first day back, did we have to have English for Period 1?

Peter: Beats me.

Janae: They seriously need to change the timetable and suit the classes to OUR needs.

Sabrina: If you had your way Janae, everyone would want to go home early!

Janae: *smiling* True.

Jacob: Look guys. Taz is here.

*the gang sit with Tasmine*

Tasmine: Sup sis and bros!

All: Hey Taz.

*Tasmine high-fives them*

Tasmine: Glad to see you guys.

*Mrs Smith enters the classroom*

Mrs Smith: Good morning class. Let's get started with today's lesson. Now, with your assignment due in two weeks...

*They are interrupted by the deputy principal Miss Graham knocking on the door*

Mrs Smith: Yes Miss Graham?

Miss Graham: I just want to bring in a returning student that will be in your English class.

Mrs Smith: Sure.

*Miss Graham enters the classroom. With her is a girl with short-medium length curly black hair and of Ethiopian appearance.*

Janae: *whispering to Tracey* It's her.

Tracey: Is that Imoska? She looks really pretty.

Janae: Looks can be deceiving bestie.

Miss Graham: This is Imoska Lewis everyone. I'm sure most of you will remember her.

Sabrina: HEY IMOSKA!!!

Imoska: *looks at Sabrina* Sab! How are you girl? I've missed you! *hugs Sabrina*

Sabrina: Life's been great.

Imoska: And who are these strapping young men?

Peter: It's me, Peter. Have you forgotten about me and Jacob?

Jacob: Yeah. That's not very nice. *laughs*

*Janae rolls her eyes at Tasmine*

Tasmine: I know.

*As Imoska hugs Jacob and Peter, she notices Janae*

Imoska: How have you been Janae?

*Janae looks at her*

Janae: *sarcastically* I've been great. How about you?

Imoska: I'm doing well, thank you. *smiles*

Tasmine: Do you remember me?

Imoska: Of course I do. Tasmine McCreed?

Tasmine: That's right. *smiles*

Imoska: *to Tracey* But I don't think we've met.

Tracey: We haven't. I'm Tracey Turner.

Imoska: Nice to meet you. *shakes Tracey's hand*

Jacob: This girl right here is my beautiful girlfriend. *kisses Tracey on the cheek*

Tracey: Sure am.

Imoska: That is so cute. *smiles*

Janae: *to Tasmine* Wanna go outside?

Tasmine: Sure.

Janae: We'll be right back Miss.

Mrs Smith: Okay Janae.

*Janae and Tasmine leave class and head downstairs*

Janae: Can you believe her? *mocking Imoska* "How have you been Janae?"

Tasmine: I know. She should take up acting.

Janae: Yeah, tell me about it. *lights a cigarette*

Tasmine: Light one up for me?

Janae: Sure. *lights up Tasmine's cigarette*

Tasmine: Thanks. *puffs out the smoke* That's relaxing.

Janae: Sure is after dealing with a mutt like Imoska.

*Tasmine and Janae both start laughing*

Later that day, Imoska is talking to Tracey and Alaina after their Maths class.

Tracey: So, what school in the city did you go to?

Imoska: I went to South Sydney High. It was an okay school I guess.

Tracey: I went to several schools in Sydney too.

Imoska: Really? Where?

Tracey: From Year 7 to the beginning of Year 9, I went to John Therry Catholic High School. I then started Year 9 at Cook Vale High and left at the beginning of this year.

Alaina: Any particular reason why?

Tracey: I'd rather not talk about it now. When I'm ready, I'll tell you. *smiles*

Alaina: Okay.

Imoska: Janae doesn't like me does she?

Tracey: Don't be silly. Why would you think that?

Imoska: I can tell.

Alaina: She seems nice.

Imoska: Did she tell you that she chased me around Westfield back in Year 8? I didn't even do anything to deserve that.

Tracey: Well, I hate to break it to you. Janae had every right to chase you around after telling people she had the nits.

Imoska: I never said that.

Tracey: Are you sure?

Imoska: Positive. If it was anyone that told people she had head lice, it was Gloria Jenkins.

Tracey: Gloria! How did I know?

Alaina: Who's Gloria?

Imoska: She's a bitch. Stay away from her.

Tracey: I forgot to tell this Imoska. Gloria's moved to Bomaderry.

Imoska: THANK GOD! *fist pumps*

Tracey: I know.

Alaina: Sounds like she was nasty.

Tracey: Oh believe me. You don't know HALF of what she did Alaina.

Alaina: Gosh.

Tracey: Let's go meet the gang.

Imoska: I'm going to stay behind. I want to go to the library and read a book.

Tracey: Fair enough. Do you want me to tell Janae?

Imoska: No! She'd never believe you.

Tracey: Okay. It's up to you. *smiles sympathetically at Imoska before leaving with Alaina*

When school finishes for the day, Alaina and Jasper meet up in the quad.

Alaina: Who wants to go first?

Jasper: *miserably* Me.

Alaina: You sound miserable.

Jasper: That's because I didn't make one friend today. They all looked at me with disinterest. How was your day?

Alaina: It was good. I found a great group of friends.

*Jasper looks sad*

Alaina: Hey brother. Come on, don't be sad. I'm sure you'll make a friend. After all, tomorrow is another day.

Jasper: You're right Alaina. *smiles* You're the best sister ever.

Alaina: Thanks.

*Jasper and Alaina hug*

When Tracey and Jacob arrive home, the phone rings.

Jacob: Hello? Who is this? Hold on. *to Tracey* Do you know anyone by the name of Nora Phillips?

Tracey: Yes I do. Give me the phone.

Jacob: Here she is. *hands the phone to Tracey*

Tracey: Nora! How are you? I'm good. What have you been up to? Oh, that's great. I'm actually in Year 11 this year, not Year 12. But next year I am. Of course I do. When do you want to catch up? *jots down the information on a notepad* Okay. Saturday it is. What time? I'll be there by 10:30-11:00am. Okay. See you then. Take care. Bye. *hangs up*

Jacob: I take it Nora was one of your old school friends?

Tracey: Yes. I know her from John Therry. She's such a sweet girl.

Jacob: Where are you meeting her?

Tracey: I'm meeting her for coffee in Padstow on Saturday. She shares an apartment with her older sister Sonya.

Jacob: In the same suburb?

Tracey: That's right. But there's something you should know about her bestie.

Jacob: *looks at Tracey seriously* What's that?

Tracey: She has Asperger's Syndrome.

Jacob: Is that a form of autism?

*Tracey nods*

Jacob: I want to meet her.

Tracey: If you're okay with it.

Jacob: OF COURSE I'm okay with it. I think people with a disability should be treated with respect.

*Tracey hugs Jacob tightly*

At school the next day (Wednesday), Lilly approaches Janae during recess.

Lilly: Janae?

Janae: What do you want Lilly? I'm really not in the mood to talk.

Lilly: I just want to say that I'm sorry about everything that's happened between us. I never wanted to have you charged. It was Mum's idea.

Janae: Whatever. *goes to walk off, but is stopped by Lilly*

Lilly: Please Janae! Just listen to me!

Janae: WHY?!? Why should I after everything that you've done? You practically humiliated my cousin, you nearly had me charged with assault, you insulted me and you caused great embarrassment for Tracey at her grandmother's funeral!!!

Lilly: I'm sorry. Is there any chance for us to be friends?

Janae: I'm going to tell you this once, Lilly Jordan! We will never be friends again! Do I make myself perfectly clear on that?

Lilly: Can't you give me another chance?

Janae: NO!!! Just leave me alone! *walks off*

*Lilly bursts into tears*

Later on, Jasper has Science where he FINALLY makes a friend in Toby Ong.

Toby: So, what's your name bud?

Jasper: Jasper Hillman. Yours?

Toby: Toby Ong. *shakes Jasper's hand*

Jasper: So glad I finally made a friend.

Toby: Some people in our year are so ignorant aye?

Jasper: You don't say. I said hello to this one girl and she just looked at me like I was a piece of trash.

Toby: Point her out to me.

*Jasper points at Lilly*

Toby: That's Lilly Jordan. She's a snob!

Jasper: I figured.

Toby: Well, at least you've got me as a friend now. *smiles*

Jasper: True that man.

Toby: Did you want to come over to my house this afternoon?

Jasper: Sure man.

Toby: Cool!

*Jasper and Toby high-five*

At lunch time, Tracey is waiting for Jacob when Sabrina and Imoska approach her.

Tracey: Hey girls. How was Modern History?

Imoska: Don't ask.

Tracey: What happened?

Sabrina: Janae completely ignored Imoska.

Tracey: Why?

Imoska: I don't know. We had to work in a group today and whenever I pitched ideas, she kept thanking Sabrina instead of me.

Sabrina: I was this close to pulling Janae aside and give her a telling off.

Tracey: Don't blame you. Janae had a go at Lilly this morning, so she probably took it out on Imoska in a non-verbal way.

Sabrina: Beats me. So, how was Music?

Tracey: Boring. We had to write.

Imoska: I just wish I could talk out my problems with Janae because to this day, I still don't get why she chased me around Westfield. She claims that I spread rumours about her having head lice. I didn't!

Sabrina: No, it was that stupid Nerdy-Bird! If only she was still here...

Tracey: Does Janae know about this?

Sabrina: No one ever told her. I only found out yesterday.

Tracey: Imoska?

Imoska: Yes?
Tracey: Would you like me and Sabrina to help you and Janae reconcile?

Imoska: If Janae's okay with it.

Tracey: I'll convince her to try this afternoon after school.

Sabrina: Saves me from doing it.

Imoska: Hope it goes well.

Tracey: Wish me luck girls.

(But when Tracey talks to Janae about it as they are walking home from school, she doesn't take the news well.)

Janae: Are you serious, Tracey?!?

Tracey: Imoska seemed honest about it.

Janae: That bitch has everyone wrapped around her little finger! It just shows how fake she really is!

Tracey: Won't you let her hear what she has to say to you?

Janae: Tracey, that girl stabbed me in the back! I don't take too kindly to people betraying me!

Tracey: I'm just trying to help you.

Janae: I know and I appreciate you for it, but I will never become friends with Lilly and most certainly not Imoska Lewis ever again!

After school that afternoon, Jasper heads over to Toby Ong's house at 6 Nyan Way, Warrawong.

*Jasper knocks on the front door*

Jasper: Hello?

*Toby's mother opens the door*

Mrs Ong: What do you want?!?

Jasper: *timidly* Is Toby home?

Mrs Ong: TOBY!!!

*Toby heads to the front door*

Toby: Hey Jasper! Come in man.

*Jasper enters the house and is shocked at the state of it*

Jasper: Nice place.

Toby: It's all messy.

Jasper: I wouldn't say that.

Toby: Let's chill in my room.

*Jasper and Toby head upstairs and into Toby's bedroom*

Jasper: It's a bit small.

Toby: Do you like it?

Jasper: Looks great.

*Toby brings out some weed*

Jasper: What's that?

Toby: Ever smoked weed before?

Jasper: No! I don't smoke that stuff!

Toby: Loosen up man. It will help you relax.

Jasper: I don't know Toby...

Toby: Come on. Are you a man or a baby?

Jasper: *defensively* I'm a guy!

Toby: So, have one. *offers Jasper some weed*

*Jasper looks unsure*

That evening, Tracey and Jacob are watching the local news while kissing at the same time.

Jacob: I love you bestie.

Tracey: I love you as well.

Jacob: Do you think we should...you know....

Tracey: I don't know. We've only been dating for nearly a month. I think it's too soon for us to take our relationship to the next level.

Jacob: You know Tracey? You are absolutely right.

*Tracey smiles at him*

Jacob: I'm just worried about school tomorrow.

Tracey: Me too. I've got Visual Arts first period with Imoska and Janae. I just wish they would make peace.

Jacob: Same here. It's making the group feel tense.

Tracey: Tell me about it. *puts her arm around Jacob*

At school the next morning (Thursday), Tracey meets up with Janae at the basketball courts.

Tracey: Hey bestie.

Janae: Hey girl. How are you? *gives Tracey a hug*

Tracey: I thought Sabrina would be here with you.

Janae: She's busy talking to that BITCH!

Tracey: Imoska?

Janae: That's the one. God, she's pathetic!

Tracey: Not as pathetic as Gloria.

Janae: They're both mutts! I had to laugh when Imoska told Peter in Business Studies that she knew all the Pacific Islanders around Sydney. That's complete and utter rubbish!

Tracey: She could be telling the truth.

Janae: More like lying to gain friends. I don't trust the mole not after what she did to me! Stupid little mutt!

Tracey: Well, I've got bad news. We've got Visual Arts first.

Janae: *sarcastically* Oh goody! I have to put up with her! How nice!

Tracey: Try and be nice.

Janae: I'll try my best. *smiles weakly*

(In their Visual Arts class, Tracey, Janae and Imoska are doing their artwork their teacher has given them.)

*Imoska looks at Janae's artwork*

Imoska: That's a rather interesting drawing.

Janae: What?

Imoska: I said that drawing is rather interesting. But I don't think you've selected the right colours for it.

Janae: Excuse me? I know what I'm doing thank you! *goes back to her artwork*

Imoska: I was just giving you some advice. *looks at Tracey sadly*

*Janae just rolls her eyes*

Tracey: I think that's nice work you're doing there, bestie.

Janae: Thanks bestie.

*The teacher, Miss Delaney approaches them*

Miss Delaney: That's lovely artwork girls, especially yours Janae.

Janae: Thanks Miss Delaney.

Imoska: It's a shame you didn't use the right colours. It would've looked even more great.

*Janae has HAD ENOUGH and storms around the other side of the desk to face Imoska*

Janae: Imoska, SHUT UP!!!

Imoska: What?

Janae: I'M SICK TO DEATH OF YOU CRITICISING ME ALL THE F***ING TIME!!! YOU DID IT BACK IN YEAR 7 TO YEAR 8 AND YOU ARE STILL DOING IT NOW!!! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A LIAR, A FAKE FRIEND AND A COMPLETE AND UTTER BITCH!!!

*Imoska looks horrified*

Imoska: I was just...

Janae: I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU WERE DOING OR SAYING BITCH!!! YOU DON'T EVER F***ING TREAT ME LIKE I'M F***ING SOME DUMB PERSON!!! JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU STUPID F***ING MUTT!!! I BET YOU SPREAD RUMOURS AT YOUR OLD HIGH SCHOOL JUST LIKE YOU DID TO ME BACK IN YEAR 8!!!

*Tracey puts her hands on her hair in despair as a horrified Imoska tries to talk*

Janae: YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED IN THE CITY BECAUSE IT WAS A HELL OF A LOT PEACEFUL IN THIS SCHOOL WITHOUT YOUR EXISTENCE!!! NO ONE LIKES YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE A F***ING BACKSTABBING LITTLE S**T AND THE QUICKER YOU DROP DEAD IMOSKA LEWIS, THE BETTER!!!

*Janae storms out of the room and slams the door*

Tracey: Oh dear god!

*Imoska puts her head down and starts to cry.*

Tracey: It's okay. *hugs Imoska*

At the WEC (Wollongong Entertainment Centre), Cam and Abby are practicing with their fellow Wollongong Hawks cheerleaders when the coach stops them.

Coach: Attention girls! I just want you all to know that I'll be making my decision on who should be head cheerleader for our team this coming Monday. Whoever gets it will be a role model for all the fellow cheerleaders out there. Good luck ladies.

*Cam and Abby head for the lockers*

Abby: I SO want to be head cheerleader. I just hope I get picked for it.

Cam: Someone's confident.

Abby: I just know I've got this one in the bag.

Cam: Just so you know Abby, I've been fighting long and hard to become head cheerleader as well.

Abby: I know, but I was born to cheer.

Cam: And I wasn't?

Abby: That's not what I meant, Cam.

Cam: I mean you're already a model. You get to appear in advertisements, commercials and other stuff. What more do you want?

Abby: To become head cheerleader for the Wollongong Hawks. If I have to play dirty to get it, then that's what I'm going to do. *leaves*

*Cam sighs*

When class has finished, Tasmine races over to Tracey and Imoska.

Tasmine: I just seen Janae walk to the office. She looked really p***ed off!

Tracey: Don't even get me started.

Tasmine: What happened?

*Imoska starts to cry again*

Tracey: There was an incident involving her and Imoska.

Tasmine: What happened?

*Tracey tells Tasmine what went down in Visual Arts class*

Tasmine: Are you okay?

Imoska: Just really hurt, that's all.

Tasmine: I know.

Tracey: *to Imoska* You right to come to French?

*Imoska shakes her head while crying*

Imoska: I'm just really upset.

*Sabrina approaches the girls*

Sabrina: Is everything okay Tracey? Mrs Vilensky wants to know if you and Imoska are coming to class.

Tracey: Oh Sabrina. It was just terrible.

Sabrina: What happened?

*Imoska continues to cry*

Sabrina: Come here. *hugs Imoska tight*

*Tracey tells Sabrina what happened*

Sabrina: ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?

*Tracey and Imoska both nod*

Tracey: That was totally uncalled for.

Sabrina: Bloody oath it was. I'll talk to Janae and get to the bottom of it. *looks determined*

Later that afternoon, Janae was smoking some weed outside Westfield Warrawong. She immediately left school as soon as she stormed out of Visual Arts class. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now. Her mum, Sabrina and Tracey had tried ringing her phone, but she declined the calls (well, mostly Sabrina and Tracey's). She just wanted to be on her own.

*Janae finishes smoking and heads back inside the shopping centre*

Janae: *to herself* Stupid Imoska! Ruin my day!

*Janae's mobile goes off*

Janae: *rejecting the call* P*** off Sabrina!

*A few minutes later, Janae gets a text from Sabrina.*

Sabrina: I suggest you call me right now. I'm not happy with you.

*Janae rings Sabrina*

Janae: *rather annoyed* What do you want?

Sabrina: What's this about you screaming at Imoska in VA?

Janae: Did the stupid little bitch run crying to you?

Sabrina: NOW LISTEN HERE, JANAE TAYLOR AND YOU BETTER LISTEN CAREFULLY! YOUR OUTBURST TOWARDS IMOSKA WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Janae: Who's best friend are you anyway? Mine or hers?

Sabrina: Yours, but that's beside the point! Imoska is my friend too and I don't like how you are treating her.

Janae: You know what Sabrina? I really don't care how I treat her. All I know is that the stupid little s*** got what she deserved. Goodbye. *hangs up the phone*

(Sabrina is with Tracey outside the school when this happens)

Sabrina: *sarcastically* Great! She hung up on me!

Tracey: It's a shame what happened. I was really hoping for those two to reconcile.

Sabrina: Don't like your chances, Tracey. God, Janae can be such a cow sometimes! I know she's my best friend, but I don't condone her actions towards Imoska. That was spiteful and cruel!

Tracey: It's a shame Imoska went home though.

Sabrina: Can you blame her after being screamed at by Janae?

*Tracey shakes her head sadly*

Tracey: Just hope we don't have a similar incident tomorrow at school.

Sabrina: Oh there won't be. Trust me. Because if Janae starts, I will end it!

Tracey: How?

Sabrina: You'll see. *smokes a cigarette*

Unfortunately for Janae, she is about to face Sarah's wrath the minute she gets home.

Sarah: JUST THE PERSON I WANTED TO SEE!!!

Janae: I'm in a s*** mood, Mum! Leave me alone!

Sarah: I GOT A CALL FROM MISS DELANEY ABOUT YOUR BEHAVIOUR IN VISUAL ARTS!!! HOW DARE YOU FRIGHTEN ANOTHER STUDENT BY SCREAMING IN THEIR FACE!!!

Janae: OH IS THAT WHAT DELANEY TOLD YOU HUH?!?

Sarah: THAT'S RIGHT! AND WHY DIDN'T YOU GO TO THE REST OF YOUR CLASSES?!?

Janae: I did!

Sarah: DON'T LIE!!! TRACEY AND SABRINA CALLED ME TO SEE IF YOU WERE HOME, SO I KNOW YOU LEFT SCHOOL!!!

*Janae storms upstairs*

Sarah: I HAVEN'T FINISHED TALKING TO YOU JANAE ROSE!!! GET BACK HERE!!

Janae: NO!!! *continues walking upstairs*

*Sarah sighs angrily*

At Tracey and Jacob's apartment, she is home alone reading a book.

(Flashback to Year 11 Visual Arts that morning when Janae was screaming at Imoska)

Janae: I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU WERE DOING OR SAYING BITCH!!! YOU DON'T EVER F***ING TREAT ME LIKE I'M SOME F***ING DUMB PERSON!!! JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU STUPID F***ING MUTT!!! I BET YOU SPREAD RUMOURS AT YOUR OLD HIGH SCHOOL JUST LIKE YOU DID TO ME BACK IN YEAR 8!!!

*Tracey puts her hands on her hair in despair*

(end flashback)

*Tracey starts to cry as the incident brought back a bad memory from her past*

(Flashback to a 15 year-old Tracey intimidating a Year 7 student at Cook Vale High)

Tracey: WHEN I ASK FOR A CIGARETTE, I EXPECT THAT YOU GIVE IT TO ME!

*The boy looks terrified*

*Tracey continues to cry when Jacob arrives home from Jamie Tavui's house*

Jacob: Bestie? *puts his arm around Tracey*

Tracey: I'm fine Jacob. Just having a good cry.

Jacob: Any particular reason?

Tracey: The way Janae screamed at Imoska in VA reminded me of the time I intimidating a Year 7 at Cook Vale High. It was scary.

*Jacob hugs Tracey tight*

Jacob: It's okay. The main thing is that I'm here now and I'll always protect you.

Tracey: Thanks bestie.

That night, Peter and Abby are hanging out at Westfield Warrawong due to Thursday being late-night shopping.

Peter: I hear you're trying out to be the head cheerleader for the Hawks.

Abby: That's right. I hope I get it.

Peter: You must be facing some stiff competition.

Abby: Oh just me and my best friend, but who cares?

Peter: Cam's going for it as well?

Abby: Uh huh. *nods her head*

*They see Lilly and one of her friends walking towards them*

Lilly: *to Abby* What an ugly bitch!

Abby: Excuse me?
Lilly: I just saying that you're an ugly bitch!

Peter: That's not very nice Lilly!

Lilly: You seriously can do better than going out with this trash!

Abby: I'm trash? At least I have a career in modelling and being a cheerleader.

Sam James: Being a cheerleader and model are two entirely different things, dumb****!!!

Abby: Don't call me a dumb****, bitch! With that nose, you remind me of the witch from The Wizard of Oz!

*Sam looks horrified*

Lilly: Don't worry about her Sam. She's just jealous.

Peter: Seriously Lilly! Just stop it!

Lilly: Have you met my friend Samantha James, Peter? Everyone calls her Sam.

Peter: Yeah I have.

Sam: Would you like to go out with me?

Peter: Hell no! I've got a girlfriend right next to me! *to Lilly* And as for you, I will not be friends with you anymore if you continue insulting Abby!

Lilly: *begrudgingly* Fine! Let's go Sam!

The next day (Friday), Cam and Abby are waiting to find out who’ll be the head cheerleader for the Wollongong Hawks.

Abby: I seriously hope I get it!

Cam: I’m vying for it too!

Abby: Well, we’ll just see who gets it now won’t we?

Cam: Sure.

*The coach enters the stadium to make his decision*

Coach: You girls excited?

Cheerleaders: Yeah!

Coach: This was a really hard decision to make as all of you are very talented cheerleaders for our team, but the new head cheerleader for the Wollongong Hawks is…

Abby: This is it!

Cam: I can’t wait for it!

Coach: Imogen Douglas!

*Abby and Cam both look unimpressed*

Abby: Are you serious?!?

Cam: She’s the worst cheerleader on the team!

Imogen: Thank you! *races over to the coach and hugs him* I’m so excited! WOO!!!

*Abby tries not to cry as she heads out*

Cam: Abby?

*Abby ignores her and continues walking out*

(At Warrawong High, Toby Ong is continuing to pressure Jasper into smoking weed.)

Toby: When are you going to smoke a cone with me?

Jasper: *lying* Sometime over the weekend.

Toby: Are you a chicken? *makes chicken sounds*

*Alaina walks over to them, having heard everything*

Alaina: I want a word with you! *glares at Toby*

Toby: Jeez Louise! What’s up your a***?!?

Alaina: Jasper, leave us alone for a few minutes.

Jasper: Okay. *walks off*

Alaina: PEER PRESSURING MY BROTHER ARE WE?!?

Toby: *looks intimidated* I was just…

Alaina: YOU WERE JUST WHAT?!? OFFERING HIM SOME DISGUSTING DRUG?!? IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO SMOKE THE STUFF, THAT’S HIS CHOICE!!! DON’T PRESSURE MY BROTHER INTO DOING SOMETHING STUPID EVER AGAIN!!!

Toby: I was just being a mate.

Alaina: Really?!? Well, I don’t think so! You’ve been put on notice, chump!

*Toby looks scared as Alaina angrily walks off*

During lunch break, Peter sees Abby in reception crying her eyes out.

Peter: Babe? What’s wrong?

Abby: I didn’t get it.

Peter: What?

Abby: I didn’t become the head cheerleader!

Peter: I’m sorry to hear that. Did Cam get it?

Abby: No, they gave it to Imogen Douglas! The only reason she got it is because she’s dating one of the players.

Peter: That’s really fishy.

Abby: I know. I’m just such a failure! *sobs*

Peter: No, you’re not! *hugs Abby*

*Lilly approaches Abby and Peter*

Lilly: *sarcastically* Oh Abby! I’m really sorry that you didn’t get what you wanted.

Peter: Lilly!

Lilly: It must be a real shame not be the head cheerleader. Still, there are other girls heaps prettier than you that could be cheerleaders. You are just a dog!

*Abby cries harder and runs off*

Peter: Abby wait! *turns around and glares at Lilly* NICE GOING LILLY!!!

Lilly: I was just passing on my judgement.

Peter: HER SELF-CONFIDENCE IS PROBABLY BELOW THE FLOOR NOW!

Lilly: So?!?

Peter: SO OUR FRIENDSHIP IS OVER!

Lilly: *realising* You don’t mean that?

Peter: I SURE DO! YOU HAVE TURNED INTO A COLD-HEARTED BITCH!

*Lilly looks hurt and saddened by Peter’s words*

Lilly: Peter, please listen…

Peter: Go to hell you vile insect! *walks away*

*Lilly starts to cry*

(Later on, Tracey and her friends are heading to their English class.)

Tracey: I can’t wait to see my old friend Nora tomorrow.

Janae: You haven’t told us about her. What’s she like?

Tracey: She’s really sweet.

Janae: That’s good. We like sweet, not sour and nasty! *glares at Imoska as she says this*

Imoska: *defeated* I really don’t care what you think of me anymore. I’m done fighting you. *heads into class*

*Sabrina is not happy*

Sabrina: Tracey, we’ll catch up with you. I think it’s time Janae and I had a little chat!

Tracey: Okay. *heads into class*

Janae: I really don’t have anything to say, Sabrina. So, save your breath! *tries to enter the classroom, but Sabrina grabs her by the wrist*

Sabrina: I think you owe me an explanation as to why you are being ten times bitchier than normal to Imoska.

Janae: She’s a filthy, lying little scrag and I hope she gets severe head lice!

Sabrina: *shouting* Is THAT why you’re p***ed off with her?!? Because of the Year 8 head lice rumour?!?

Janae: You’re damn right! I’ll never forgive her for what she did! She’s a no-good, dirty…

Sabrina: IT WASN’T EVEN HER THAT STARTED THE RUMOUR! IT WAS GLORIA JENKINS!!!

*Janae looks dumbstruck*

Janae: Are you sure?

The next morning (Saturday), Tracey and Jacob are about to head off to see Nora Phillips when there is a knock on the door.

Tracey: I'll get that. *opens the door to find Janae standing there* Hey bestie. Jacob and I are just about to head off.

Janae: Have you got Gloria's number?

Tracey: I do. Why?

Janae: I'm going to prank the s**t out of her! Can't believe poor Imoska took the wrap for that ugly little mutt!

Tracey: That just proved Imoska really cared about you. Now, that friendship you guys had is over.

Janae: Not necessarily. I'm going to work things out with her.

Jacob: When?

Janae: If I see her today.

Jacob: She's gone to the city to see her Mum for the day.

Janae: Shoot! I'm holding you guys up. I'm sorry.

Tracey: It's okay. You going anywhere today?

Janae: Sabrina's.

Jacob: We'll drop you off on our way to see Nora.

Janae: You don't have to do that.

Tracey: That's what besties are for. *smiles*

*Janae smiles back*

Once Janae is dropped off at Sabrina's house, she immediately knocks on the door.

*Anne opens the door*

Anne: Hi Janae. Sabrina's still in bed.

*Janae checks the time on her mobile*

Janae: It's only ten to ten.

Anne: We all know how much Sabrina loves sleeping in.

Sabrina: *from inside* Mum, who's at the door?

Anne: Janae.

Sabrina: Tell her to come in.

*Janae enters the house and goes into Sabrina's bedroom.*

Janae: Hey.

Sabrina: How are you bestie?

Janae: Wait a minute. You're not mad.

Sabrina: Why would I be angry at you?

Janae: Because of yesterday.

Sabrina: I thought you were angry at me.

Janae: No.

*Sabrina and Janae look at each other before bursting out laughing*

Janae: Wanna ring Gloria?

Sabrina: Why would I ring Nerdy-Bird?

Janae: I'm gonna prank her after what she did. Is your mobile on private

Sabrina: Sure is.

Janae: Perfect. *dials Gloria's number and puts Sabrina's phone on loudspeaker*

*After four rings, Gloria answers the call*

Gloria: Hello?

*Janae and Sabrina stay silent*

Gloria: Hello?!?

*Sabrina hangs up the phone*

Janae: I'll call her back. *redials the number*

*After two rings, Gloria answers it.*

Gloria: *slightly aggravated* Hello?!?

*Sabrina makes bird sounds over the receiver*

Gloria: GROW UP YOU PATHETIC LOSER!!! *hangs up*

Janae: You try.

*Sabrina redials the number. It doesn't even ring once.*

Gloria: *screaming* WHO THE F*** IS THIS?!?

*Janae screams really loudly into the receiver before hanging up*

Sabrina: *laughing really hard* That was a classic!

Janae: Tell me about it. *laughs*

*Sabrina and Janae roll around the bed and continue laughing*

At the Hillman's, Jasper is shooting hoops when Toby approaches him.

Toby: Hey man.

Jasper: *tensely* Hey.

Toby: Hey listen. I just want to apologise to you.

Jasper: For what?

Toby: For trying to make you smoke weed. I was peer pressuring you and it was wrong.

Jasper: No sweat man. Just forget about the whole thing.

Toby: You still want to be mates?

Jasper: Of course I do.

*Jasper and Toby shake hands as Alaina watches from the window*

Ebony: What are you doing?

Alaina: Spying.

Ebony: Why are you spying on our brother?

Alaina: Because I don't trust that Toby Ong one bit! That's why! *continues look out the window*

*Ebony heads upstairs*

Alaina: *to herself* He'll fall in with the wrong crowd for sure.

Tracey and Jacob return home from seeing Nora that afternoon to find Janae, Peter, Sabrina and Imoska outside the apartment building.

Tracey: Waited for us to come back I see?

Imoska: Well, we wanted you guys to fill us in on how your visit with Nora went.

Jacob: We'll talk about it in the flat.

*A minute later, everyone is inside Tracey and Jacob's apartment*

Peter: So tell us. What's this Nora chick like?

Tracey: Shouldn't we wait for Tasmine, TJ, Jackson, Cam and Abby?

Peter: Cam and Abby are having a "girls day out" at Corrimal, that's all I know.

Janae: You can always tell them over the phone.

Tracey: True.

Sabrina: You were saying Tracey?

Tracey: Well, I started Year 7 at a catholic school called John Therry. I remember on the first day, I was all alone and scared but Nora was so friendly that she just made me feel welcome the minute she introduced herself to me, even though I was three grades below her.

Imoska: You and Nora must go way back.

Tracey: We sure do. I've always been close with her sisters Sonya and Andrea as well.

Jacob: But there's more to Nora, isn't there bestie?

*Tracey looks sad and uncomfortable as she goes on about Nora*

Sabrina: Tell us Tracey.

Tracey: *now crying* She has Asperger's Syndrome and is also mildly delayed.

Janae: What do you mean by "mildly delayed"?

Tracey: Nora's developmentally delayed, but she has a mild form of it. *chokes back tears as Jacob hugs her*

*The group look sad*
