I loved Chris ever since he moved into Irene and started having very loud music at the morning :)

What loud music?

Chris started turning the music he was listening to very loud, then Irene had to come and yell at him and tell him to turn it down and he stands there in his underwear and as she leaves he turns it up again, i remember that scene because that´s when i realized this was the start of a fun relationship :)

Wow. I've just been reading this thread for the first time, and it's incredible how many character names mean nothing to me, and how many storylines I've forgotten. I guess that means my like of Chris didn't turn into love until the end of last year, because that's when stuff starts being familiar to me. (He slept with Denny  ??)

I heard on the news a while ago that scientists are experimenting with the concept of three-parent babies. I believe their experiments will be successful and that Chris will be one of those babies, and that he has come back from the future for the sole purpose of my amusement.

He has the sweetness, silliness, and painful awkwardness of Robbie Hunter.

He has the hot body, and shameless willingness to use it, of Kim Hide.

He has the child-like innocence and bond with "Renie" of Tasha Andrews.

In short, Chris Harrington is my perfect Home and Away Character. (Nobody tell Robbie and Kim!!)

A great character just seen his performances on X factor I can see why the crew of H&A snapped him up such a presence on stage and on screen, hope he gets some really big and good storylines in the future. Also love his relationship with Irene, I think Lynne and Johnny play the parts perfectly.

I'm afraid I really find Chris annoying as well. He constantly pushes into situations where he has no place and stays in people's faces long after he should get the hint and simply go away. I don't find him either lovable or endearing. In fact I'm always surprised he doesn't get his nose punched much more often.

Some other characters in H&A history could be described like this...

So it's been about a week since Spencer left at UK pace and I'm wondering what Chris is still actually doing on the show.  IMO he hasn't really improved as a character since the last time I posted here.  The main reason why he came to the bay was because of Spencer so it would be logical to leave with him as well, especially considering that their father is in a coma.  I feel that he serves no purpose except to annoy people.  Irene obviously cares about him but it's clear that she often finds him a pain in the backside.  He doesn't seem to have any friends.  I'm not counting Maddy as she is just his brother's ex.  Why would someone his age stay in a town with not a particularly high population of people when he's not meeting anyone?  I think Spencer said to Chris when Chris actually offered to leave with him that he loves it at Summer Bay.  Is that really the case?  It doesn't seem so given the last episode at UK pace where he was so lonely he imposed himself uninvited on John.  He annoyed me intensely when Marilyn called and he just took the phone and tried to get rid of her even when John wanted to speak to her.  So I was glad John told him to get lost and was disappointed he apologised afterwards and sat down with him and watched the movie purely out of guilt.  Chris remains one of those people who never seems to get the message.  Same old.

Digital Spy have just announced that Johnny has recently signed a new long term contract and will be staying with the show for the foreseeable future and he's hoping to even be something like the next 'Irene or Alf!'

Great news to hear, he's really come into his character and gives us a lot of comedic moments.

Oh no. :(:(:(:(:(:(

*skulks off into a corner and starts crying*

I was hoping TBTB would write him out next year at some point as I still see him as a useless, annoying character.

While I'm glad that Chris is sticking around, I think they need to do more with him.He needs to be more than the funny guy who stands around in the Diner making silly comments and putting his foot in it.He's lost a lot of his connections to other characters, and when they do seem to be building ties it gets forgotten about very quickly (for about two episodes, they seemed to be building a surrogate brother/sister thing between him and Maddy, then it got dropped completely). While it has given him a reason to interact with other characters, I think more should have been made of his relationship with Hannah; instead, they dropped out of focus once they'd got together (and hopefully he's not just a stop gap until a reunion with Andy). One that needs more attention.
