Red Ranger 1 Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 As I suspected, I really enjoyed today's episode.Astonishingly, despite it having a lot of storylines I shake my head at, I'm finding myself more nostalgic about the Julie McGauren/Dan Bennett era than the Carol Drouyan stuff, or maybe it's just the episodes they're showing. But yeah, so much great stuff there, is it strange that I like the supercow Belle of 2006 more than the doormat Belle of 2008-9?I loved her little wave to Cassie and Matilda when they glared at her.And also Ric making the mouth gesture at Colleen. And I like Kim and Rachel:I know things ended badly but it works in context and hey, they were both happy with other people in the end.Shame the Helpman storyline kind of got lost in the mix once Rachel lost the psychiatry post and her dad came back.I've got this oddest feeling the actor was in it some other time:He was Kane's lawyer in 2001 but I don't think it's that.I'm probably wrong. I do wonder if I'd have been that much behind Robbie and Tasha these days.I suspect I would, which is a testament to the characters and actors that even though they got lumbered with a truly dreadful storyline to break them up I was still cheering their happy ending. Those vows were genuinely sweet and heartfelt which some later weddings could learn from. And it's nice that even that nasty twist at the end ended up having a happy outcome.
Light of the Bay Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 This was one of the best episodes they could have chosen out of 2006 - there are so few IMO. I don't want this comment to sound nasty but did anyone notice that Irene seemed to be a lot heavier in 2006? I'm saying this because I've been watching 2004 a lot and she seemed almost anorexic. I really hope no one finds that observation offensive or intrusive because I was just curious.
James Martin Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 Is it wrong that I've only watched the first one from 2001? Have we had anything else from before 2004 yet? Not enjoying this at all, the episodes are too recent.
H&Alover Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 Last nights was lovely, who's 'night' was it meant to be, I missed the caption at the beginning? I'd forgotten how wild Belle was when she first came into it. We now know of course Cassie and Ric split anyway and he was last seen with Matty, Rachel ended up with Tony after Beth had died. Watching and hearing Robbie's speech it occurred to me Dex is todays Robbie. Today's episode:5313 from 2011. We were only two weeks behind back then!!!

I loved that Belle. She was naughty girl who needed some corporal punishment with a firm hand. She was her mother's daughter alright!

CaptainHulk Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 As unlikely as it looks, I'd kill for a 90s episode.
Blaxland 89 Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 For a show that has a 25 years old history, this is pretty bad.
Summer_Bay_Sunshine Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 There has to be at least one 90s episode in this "not so wonderful so far Summer break" :-( Hopefully they are saving the best til' last.... :-)
