Red Ranger 1 Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 I think most fans forget that Kim/Kit started way back in 2004, when she came back to look after Hayley and Beth. So actually the writing on the wall started all the way back then, even though I kinda hated it due to still mourning Noah/Kit. She even came back in 2005 in hope that she would rekindle the love and ended up getting in the way of the triangle of doom before feeling the full weight of bitch!Amanda and ended up back in rehab. Perhaps if I rewatch 2007 again I may start to actually liking that Kit but for now I still miss the old Kit . True, I guess I was just noting the fact that they seem to spend a lot of time shooting wistful looks at each other even though he's meant to be on his way to a new life with Rachel. In a way, I guess it's nice that they managed to keep it bubbling in the background for three years before using it for both characters' final exits:Even though they(mostly Kim)dated other people, there was always that connection between them(dare one even whisper "soul mates"?) which, in retrospect at least, kind of makes the two of them being endgame seem inevitable.
H&Alover Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 Strange how all the couples that thought they would be together 'for ever', Ric & Cassie, Rachel & Kim, Jack & Martha (though he did die), didn't end up that way, apart from Robbie & Tash who we have to suppose still are. Belle was still in bitch mode then considering it was only a few months on from Robbie & Tash's wedding. Nice to see Morag looking happy and nice mention of Roo. Noticed with tonights episode we were two months behind!
Blaxland 89 Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 With Jack and Martha's wedding, that last couple of minutes just seemed so rushed. This is probably a stupid question, but did Zoe mean to blow everyone, including herself up, or was the gas thing an accident? I've never been able to work it out. Or did she plan to put gas on, say a few words, and then leave before cake lady came in? I always has a gripe with Martha's character in the way that apart from Macca, we don't know too much about her upbringing. And at times it was almost written as if she grew up with Alf in the bay. Did her parent's die or something?
shyongirl Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 I really enjoy watching the old episodes but it makes me want to watch the episode after that one.

Did her parent's die or something? I think we're just meant to leave our brains at the door and enjoy the pretty pictures at that point.I think we're meant to assume Eve was responsible for the gas leak, which would make it slightly less of a coincidence, but that only makes sense if she sneaked in, turned the gas on without anyone noticing, then sneaked out again so she could make her big entrance.Martha's adoptive mother died in a farm accident, which is what prompted her to get in touch with the Stewarts, but her adoptive father was still meant to be alive, there was a reference to him and her other brothers not being able to make the wedding because of the short notice. So, today was Aden...and we got a Naden episode!I feel oddly pleased about that, even if it was mainly for the bathing scene.I really wish they'd got a happy ending but at least Nicole got one. That kiss was a real "At last!" moment after the insanely long wait and Aden's "It's you" is pretty much an implicit admission that he loves her, shame he couldn't say it.And I've always felt that Belle would have been pleased at him stealing a car for her, which shows the difference between them. That "What are you looking at?" at the start was a cute moment.Beginnings of Liam and Martha's, er, thing and Leah pushing Miles away, shame she didn't keep doing it so we didn't have to sit through their absurd attempt at being a couple.
H&Alover Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 Quite a good episode, everyone flapping about where Nicole was, was it just me or was her hair slightly less bleached than in later episodes? The 'old' Nicole would have been delighted at Aden staling the car for her, but she'd grown up since then. Miles and Leah never did time their moments right did they? Hassam coming on the scene puts in firmly before the riots. How could Eve/Zoe have known a lighted cake was to have been brought in?
Red Ranger 1 Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Quite a good episode, everyone flapping about where Nicole was, was it just me or was her hair slightly less bleached than in later episodes? I think Nicole's hair is noticeably darker, akin to how it was when Tessa was in Neighbours, up until the middle of 2010 which is when it starts getting out of hand. Today's episode is 5452 from 2012.Which was repeated this time last year.Oh well.
H&Alover Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Today's episode is 5452 from 2012.Which was repeated this time last year.Oh well. Only three weeks behind!!!! Btw thanks for the heads up as to which episode we can expect to see..
James Martin Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Got to be due a 90s episode this week, surely?
Red Ranger 1 Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Only three weeks behind!!!! Btw thanks for the heads up as to which episode we can expect to see.. To be fair, before this Summer Break we were only four weeks behind so the gap hasn't increased that much. So, highlights of today's episode:Georgie!!!Been far too long since we've seen her.Heapril moment!Okay, it was frustratingly brief but I miss them.Heath's sarcasm. On the downside, another chance to look at April's maternity bridesmaid dress and go "What the hell were they thinking?"And even more than with Jack and Martha, it's hard to ignore that Liam and Bianca split up straightaway and a little over a year on she's set to marry, um, the guy she went for a drive with before the wedding, as they get married to the strains of the Doomed Couples Anthem(and, um, the Home and Away theme song, sort of).For someone who's a total Bridezilla, Bianca gets married an awful lot.Again, the nostalgia is leaving me thinking that I liked characters like April and Sasha a lot more back then. Channel 5 seems to have completely given up announcing who the countdown's actually meant to be so I'm resorting to looking on Demand 5:That one was Bianca's, which I pretty much guessed. Tomorrow we've got another 2012 episode, 5493(representing Casey, so that's one Braxton who's not in the top four or five).
