Nice that we finally saw a glimpse of humanity in Dani, first with her concern for Jade and then the scenes between her and Kirsty.Given that it was usually Kirsty and Jade that got paired up, especially in the early days, it's easy to overlook just how close Dani and Kirsty were(especially when they ended up as the last two Sutherlands standing).I loved Kirsty's "I'm glad you didn't go" and her casual confirmation that Dani's singing is dreadful, followed by that hug.Rhys and Shelley are already finding Colleen as tiresome as I do, shame they were subtle with their warning about her spreading stories of spider infestations since subtlety tends to be lost on Colleen.Similarly she probably never got that her obnoxious comments were what prompted Irene to do the exact opposite.

Awww, poor Vinnie, he tried his best with Sal and she didn't give him anything, then he has to cope with Leah turning into a crazy jealous girlfriend.Nice that Sally at least stuck up for him but Leah deserved that trick, shame we're still in the days when a guy can't get one over on a girl without being punished somehow. And he's probably got reason to be worried about Ted...That last scene of Sally on the beach practically begging her body to behave has always been a bit too close to the bone for me in the past, I was suffering from panic attacks when I first saw the episode and was pretty much exactly like that, so this is possibly the first time I've managed to view it objectively.(Actually, seeing Sally go through something similar probably helped. And then they flared up again at the exact same time Alf had his brain tumour.Weird.)

And the entrance for June, one of the show's longest-running occasional characters who'll still be popping up long after we've all forgotten who Harry was.Harry's bemused shrug when Alf's gaping at her turn in the water and Don's bewildered "Would you like a towel?" are great introductions.Don warmed to her a lot quicker than I remember and the moment when he does some soul searching and realises how judgemental he's been towards her was great. And then Harry's "My mother is going on a date with Donald Fisher":Welcome to your worst nightmare.

Ailsa still having her old fire:Not surprisingly, it's very easy to imagine Judy Nunn delivering those lines, more surprisingly, she'd probably deliver them exactly the same way Nancye Hayes did.And I'll wait until we get there for the continuity mess...

It's a good idea Musie

It's more than likely that had Judy Nunn been able to film those scenes, she probably would have picked up on that and corrected it. Just the most unfortunate timing for the storyline.

Ailsa's old neighbour referred to her as Ailsa Hogan, which is the name she gave herself when she left prison. It should have been Ailsa O'Rourke.

Presuming that's the error RR1 was referring to... of course we've had 2 continuity errors in as many eps with Stan Smart now being called Les.

That was Nancye Hayes' last appearance anyway, Judy's back on Tuesday. Again, such unfortunate timing with the storyline pretty much being wrapped up today!

A shame indeed, I can only imagine that they didn't know Judy would be back the following week or couldn't delay filming that part of the story.

The interesting thing about Ailsa, and I wonder if that is what was planned way back in 1988, is that she was an example of how the system can fail a kid, if anyone needed to be put into foster care and needed a 'Pippa', it was Ailsa, but obviously the authorities either weren't aware, missed it, or the system just wasn't in place then.

Still hugely enjoying these episodes.I loved the way that Dani's insisting to Gypsy that she's not interested in Will, then Kirsty comes past and, completely unsolicited, goes "And I'm not interested in his brother."Still, she seems to have warmed towards Nick a bit since he got upset about his mum.The beginning of the friendship between Gypsy and Shelley, with Gypsy getting a job at the Drop-In Centre after impressing with her initiative.I always got the feeling Bevan Lee was trying to do the same thing when he put Belle in the Den in 2008, taking someone who'd been a boy-obsessed troublemaker at school and making them more responsible with a big sister role to the younger characters, but as soon as he left the show they took that role away from her.

The bonding between Ailsa, Shauna and Duncan actually works very well here and Ailsa's childhood home visit was rather spooky. It's perhaps slightly early for Shauna to start calling Ailsa "Mum" but Ailsa opened the door by introducing her as her daughter so it's understandable.Continuity mess, aside from what Dan just pointed out:It's obvious from the comments here that Ailsa's mother is meant to have died while she was in prison and it's heavily implied, if not actually said, that Ailsa was aware of it at the time.Yet when Emma turned up she told Ailsa that her mother died ten years previous, which was the first Ailsa had heard of it.(Given that Emma would have been born around 1972, which was clearly after Ailsa went to prison, possibly long after given she and her siblings were meant to be teenagers at the time, and she served seven years, it's actually stretching it for Ailsa to have still been in prison when Shauna, who can't be more than twenty-five and is probably younger, was born. I can't stand the confusion in my mind!)

Interesting watching Colleen and Les' first meeting when she's no idea who she is:His "Nothing changes" after she yells at him is a subtle hint.Dani continues to do nothing but whine... And gosh, the Diner kitchen's a lot smaller than it was in the early 90s, isn't it?Guess that was something they did during the refurbishment.

I actually didn't see that last episode and the first from Monday until 2007, I was on holiday when they were first on.(Saw the rest on the omnibus.)Had no idea Tasha Mills made her first appearance in those episodes.Return of Luke, loved the casual way he knocks Vinnie down when Vinnie's trying to pick a fight.Loved Vinnie's sage "She's going to have clean hands" about Sally's compulsion as well.
