@ Dan F My dates are probably all out by one then, it's hard to tell on things like the alt.tv.homeandaway archives what time zone/location is being used as standard, so when there is a comment on there from someone saying something like 'did you see the shark was in the credits again in yesterday's episode' it's hard to know what day/time it was for the actual poster and therefore exactly which episode was 'yesterday', so I could well have made the same one day error on all of them.

How do you find this archive? I'd be interested to read some of the posts from around this time.

Hope the mods don't mind me sharing links to other Home and Away things online....
On google groups it's alt.tv.home-and-away, then set the 'last posted date' to whatever period you are hoping to read messages from (it presumably goes back to around the mid nineties but I haven't explored all the way back yet), and perhaps add a search term if you are looking for something in particular (I searched for 'shark').
And the old homeandaway.org site (which became part of this very site several years ago now) is viewable at http://www.homeandaway.utvinternet.ie/editorial.htm , where there's episode guides for the era and a news/spoiler section which contains many bits and pieces originally written by posters on the old summerbaycourier mailing list (including some by a innocent teenaged version of me!), however it's really a random list of highlights from the courier in no particular order, and what I'm really looking for is a complete archive for the courier (sadly the email address I had all the old messages stored in died a year or so ago when yahoo decided to close my account down, otherwise I would still have all the messages myself).

I remember having a few problems with signals during the old Five Life broadcasts but, touch wood, I haven't had any big problems so far.

Don's epiphany over June really hasn't lasted very long, he's being a grouch towards everyone and in severe danger of wrecking every friendship he's got.Indeed, it's another bunch of episodes where a lot of people don't come out of it very well. You've got Don getting way too personal with Harry, biting Judith's head off and then taking his frustrations out on Will. You've got Joel being horrible towards Gypsy and Harry.I gave Alf the benefit of the doubt when we first made that comment to Harry but given he made an even more high-handed comment in the next episode then tried to bully Duncan into siding with him, gloves are off, although he was probably genuinely trying to help Rhys.Mitch's own epiphany seems to have gone out of the window and he's back to sulking over the Drop-In Centre. And Shauna again reminds Harry of why he's well shot of her.

Nice bit between Will and Gypsy at the top, it was always there until they spent nine years never being in the same episode.Hayley did look nice in her bridesmaid dress, struggling to remember if she ever got to be a bridesmaid though...(Will and Gypsy's wedding?)Everything Ken says and does is kind of doomladen by this point.

Mitch calling Alf "Mr.Stewart" was a bit weird.Has Sally's tic caught on already?

Really?I thought she always called him Mr.Stewart, certainly to his face.It was in the two weeks 5* skipped but I seem to remember Sally referring to Ailsa as Mrs.Stewart when finding out she was Shauna's mother and she's still calling Don Mr.Fisher into 2001.(She eventually got over that one, at least temporarily.)

Odd editing of the recap, made it look like Duncan's "Don't worry, I won't" was in response to Alf telling him not to air their dirty laundry in public, when it was actually in response to Alf telling him not to forget where his loyalties were.

It's bordering on the point where Alf and Don are only likeable around each other, although Alf clawed his way back somewhat when he backed down over the kiosk issue and that last scene with Ailsa when she tells him his true legacy is being a decent man felt like we've put an end to it.It was a nice touch that Rhys offers Alf his hand rather than the other way round.Vinnie steeling himself to stand up for what's right was both sweet and kind of funny, like Shauna said he's an odd mix of the old Vinnie and a more mature version.

Kirsty and Jade doubleteaming Will was a nice moment.Although her storyline is interesting, Tasha mostly seems like a plot device to delay Will and Dani getting together and actually seemed slightly stalkerish in the way she went around saying they'd kissed because she gave him a peck on the cheek.

The scene where Colleen fashions an excuse for Les' disappearance and claims that she's happy with how her life is was oddly poignant.

There's definitely some episodes around now when she calls him Alf, whether it's in reference to him or to his face, I don't know. I remember it took me by surprise last time the episodes were shown again.
