Frustratingly for those of us who are trying to sort the continuity out, we don't get told what birthday Leah's celebrating. They've changed the date anyway.Don really shouldn't have started badgering Harry at a social occasion but Leah was too out of it to notice. Her reaction when she finally remembers what happened was brilliant as was the scene of Sally and Vinnie trying to calm her, with Vinnie offering his own brand of help.("How can I show my face?"/"No-one was looking at your face.")

So, Tasha disappears now her storyline's over, shame.Dani seemed to take her side against Will for a lot longer than was reasonable although she got there in the end.Gypsy making herself scarce when she realises they're about to argue was mildly amusing. And of course, just as Will's love life is looking up, his family life takes the biggest nose dive possible...

It really was liking watching a medical drama knowing something horrible's about to happen, we even got suspenseful music every time we got a shot of the jack.(The direction went a bit odd in places though:Why do we get a huge close-up of Irene's plate when Will says he'll do the dishes?)Nice that Ken and Nick had that one afternoon together.Ken's "I'll do it when I get back" was really doomladen and you knew there'd be a pay off, with Irene freaking out when Shelley reaches for the cup.I did think the first time I saw that that Will lifting the car off him is exactly what you're told not to do in those circumstances, although his injuries were probably unsurvivable anyway. It was a nice touch that Gypsy went straight home on hearing the news, realising that her and Joel's issues aren't really important in the grand scheme of things.Joel turning up at the house to tell Irene is one of those moments where it sucks to be him.

And no, sadly Channel 5 aren't making the episodes available online.

Interesting to hear Sally's song 'Celluloid/Cellular' whatever it's called that she'll sing in the band with Jude playing in the Diner today.

The Old Nash house looks a lot bigger than it does now, maybe because the table is in the kitchen.

Haven't posted in a long time. But I have been watching these episodes and I have been enjoying them, I hope they continue.

I thought I used to like Mitch, maybe this is the wrong time to see his character again, because he is acting like a know it all, who wants everything his own way and thinks only he can help people and shockingly people say sorry to him!

I also used to like Harry, but he is a real sulk in this. Again, maybe I am watching it at the wrong point, was he this sulky before?

I loved Leah dancing on the table, that is something I always remembered! If only Leah was still that fun.. or even just a little bit fun now.

Hmm just a comment to put out there....it looks like Channel 5 have not been looking after the old home and away episodes that well....todays episodes had minor blips on the frames (not sure if that makes sense)....it happened also in a previous episode a couple weeks back where Irene and Shelly were in the Sutherland House. Still missing episode 2875 sadly due to the 5* crash that day.

Oh yeah Leah dancing on the table is one memory I have too (and one of the few ones!!). Hmmm I wonder why we remember this particular scene?! And Ada's reply to a tweet when she was over in the UK, when asked whether she would go back to her chirpy old self, was that "Leah has come a long way since then and grown up more" essentially.

It's true though, people grow up, mature and essentially change as people. Some people complain Marilyn isn't the same anymore. I adore Marilyn's character and deep down she is the same person, but she is in her mid forties now, she was in her late twenties when she left and has been through a hell of a lot so obviously she will have grown up and matured.

I don't have a problem with Marilyn growing up and maturing. Her character in 1998, for example, was very different from her character in 1990. But she was still the same character at heart which I don't believe she is now. The only time Marilyn is funny now is when she's had a drink in her. That was never required before.

The great thing abut Emily Symons is that she had kept the spirit of Marilyn alive. What makes her great now, and I still think she is, is nothing really in the script but purely what Emily does with the script. Which is incredible weak to what it used to be I might add.

Also, brilliant as the actress is, Leah has become much more Ada over the years which happens to of character where as Marilyn is still nothing like Emily after all these years.

Good point and I do agree that anything we see of "Marilyn, the character" is from Emily's input and certainly not from the script.

I agree about Marilyn. Basically it seems like the writers stopped bothering to write the character, so just left it all up to Emily to do the voice and the walk etc. And Emily certainly keeps Marilyn consistent in regards to the way she talks, walks, laughs etc. But the writers hardly put anything on the paper for her to work with, the lines could be coming out of any of the other characters mouths.

Leah changed somewhere during 2003 and by 2004 she was pretty much the Leah we have now. So she's been sort of whiny for ten years now.
