It is so frustrating as youtube have started to remove epiosdes as well, so there will be no place to watch any of the early years stuff. I really wanted to watch Noah arrive in the bay .

Does anyone have any idea what the last episode shown in the previous repeat run on Five Life was and when 5* will reach this point?

That was 3140, about 250 episodes on from where we are now and...see the last few posts. And yes, my 5* signal has been fine but looks like it won't matter either way soon...

Joel earned points by finally admitting he doesn't know how to handle Gypsy;shame that, as Gypsy said, it's one step forward and another one back, with him getting precious about her and Harry straight afterwards.I love the friendship between Vinnie and Gypsy at this point, shame it was largely forgotten once he married Leah.Leah having a porno fantasy about the two of them getting on was kind of underlined as stupid by the way she went rushing round to find Gypsy in unflattering pyjamas, with bed hair and looking like she'd just been jolted back to life.

Didn't find Colleen assaulting Vinnie for something he didn't do remotely funny and, worse, there wasn't anything even approaching a pay-off.Leah tries to convince her she was in the wrong and Colleen insists it was justified, then Gypsy acts like Vinnie's a wuss for minding when he's got scratches all over his back.Way to send out the message that female abuse of males is fine. And then next episode Colleen's being nasty to Joel and Judith.

Oh boy, Will turning into a complete and utter jerkass.Nick can't even say hello to him without him ordering him about.Irene needs to tell him to pull his head in fast:It's her house, not his, and he has absolutely no right threatening to throw people out of it.Kirsty and Jade whining about Rhys being friends with Alf was very annoying, even with the suggestion it was their roundabout way of saying they can't stay mad at each other either.

Okay, so it seems there are people here that don't know how the Gavin storyline plays out so I'll avoid the knowing comments in the event we actually make it to the end.Nice trick to have Alf tell us he's a good bloke but, not for the first or last time, we've got someone who's meant to have lived in Summer Bay up to five years ago and no-one apart from Alf seems to remember him.If he was the big hero of the bush fires that Alf makes out, why does Sally act as though she's never heard of him?Leah going in a split second to telling Shauna he's a great catch to ranting about all men being creeps on learning he's married was nicely done.

Oh I remember that annoying me way back in 2000. I forgot how much Colleen used to dislike Vinnie and although it's usually played for laughs with Vinnie giving as good as he gets, it did annoy me that Colleen never apologised when she got it wrong. But that is a trait of her character back then and applies to her run-ins with most characters. She was a lot more bitter and cynical in those days, like a grumpy version of Celia without the moral highground. Then around the middle of the decade she became more of a blissfully ignorant fruit loop (love potions, badly written plays and murder mystery days etc, I preffered this Colleen) then around 2009ish they stopped really giving her a personality and just used her as a plot device most of the time to spread gossip.

Why, have people been uploading the current episodes being shown???

Probably of no help but Cowboy Builders seems to have about 7 complete seasons (currently looks about 55ish episodes of 1 hr each). The fact that a new Season 8 of Cowboy Builders will start airing on Channel 5 from 24th September is probably the reason they are stopping the early years....i.e. to build up the Cowboy Builder audience on Channel 5.....makes sense from a marketing perspective but shows they don't care too much for us home and away fans!

So hope we can atleast get the early years back in December if they only repeat Cowboy Builders Series 1 - 7 just once and no other tv show takes its place!....

All wishful thinking....

You know, I've never really been able to decide whether Gavin and Shauna were having an affair or not:That kiss was crossing some sort of line but they seemed to back off afterwards. It does seem more of an emotional affair than anything else. For those keeping track, Gavin is said to be a few years older than Shauna and his comments here imply he's 28.Surprised at how young Sally seems:Her pleading with Shauna was more reminiscent of a teenager than an adult, as was her chat with Leah.Vinnie telling Shauna that if she has an affair she'll have to move to a desert island...don't think she's buying it.Shauna making Harry giving Gypsy a lift all about her annoyed me greatly. And people talking about digital cameras like they're something new...Gavin must be the only journalist in television history to care about professional ethics.

Think we're around the point where I started siding with Mitch over Hayley, although it's hard to tell if her bluntness with Brodie was deliberate or not.Brodie's insecurities are played nicely.Despite being a firm believer of Brodie and Alex as soul mates(and doing my best to ignore the character assassinations of 2007), she and Mitch are very sweet here.Loved Sally standing up to Jan and offering Brodie a place to stay. Were we really not meant to see her as a future foster mother?Because it's obviously what she is.

Nice moment of solidarity between Alf and Rhys over the trip until Alf suggested everything Rhys was dreading.(Love Rhys' "That sounds like one of mine" when Kirsty screams.)Jade and Duncan outgeeking each other was cute but weird.(Forgot to mention her reading Harry Potter yesterday:Must have got into it fairly early, we're a year off the first film.)Rather surprising that no-one seemed to have a problem with Dani lounging around sunning herself while the others work.I see most of her original look has been dropped already:Her hair's still more wavy than it was in later years but the bizarre eye make-up and dog collars have gone.

And yes, the elephant in the room.To be honest, despite thinking it would be nice to make it to the mid-2000s I never expected it to happen but I wasn't expecting the show to be dropped as early as it apparently is.Probably down to money and ratings but what do they expect, the repeats have had no publicity, not even an announcement after the regular showings, and I wouldn't have known about them if I wasn't on here.Even the words 'Home and Away' in listing mags are likely to have people assuming it's the umpteenth repeat of one of that week's regular episodes.Sadly, it's probably a lot cheaper to stick on an old reality show than pay royalties to actors, writers, directors, etc.
