It is so frustrating as youtube have started to remove epiosdes as well, so there will be no place to watch any of the early years stuff. I really wanted to watch Noah arrive in the bay .

Why, have people been uploading the current episodes being shown???

No, but there used to be a few episodes up here and there of the early years and some have been removed. So i have no way of watching them unless 5* reshow them.

Well Channel 5 haven't been too forthcoming other than to confirm that they're gone for now and that it was a "scheduling decision".

Was also mentioned that it's likely to be down to viewing figures, though as others have stated it's not as if they were well advertised.

Edit: Added a story on the main site

They can't expect people to watch something if it's not advertised

Someone replied to our story on Twitter to say they didn't even know they were being shown, all they'd seen was the stuff about Summer Bay's Sexiest.

I'm sure Cowboy Builders repeats will bring so many more viewers flocking in.....

I'm sure cowboy builders will be their heigh rating show .!!! Not.... I have come to the conclusion channel 5 is useless they don't deserve the rights to home & away they don't treat it we'll enough at all

But who should get it? It's too lowbrow for the BBC, Channel 4 would treat it like rubbish and aren't gonna evict The Simpsons from their slot and ITV if they regained it, would only hack the show up worse than they did in the 90s to the point where its completely unwatchable.

Can't help wishing they had started where they left off last time. I feel I've seen these episodes too recently (I know it's 6 years), but why show the same ones again? I'm doubting that I'll watch the rest of the week now I know they are stopping.

Anyway I've given up with the current episodes, I've no interest in the Braxtons. I fast forward through whole episodes except for Sally.

I agree about lack of advertising - it was on here I realised they were showing old episodes but how would anyone actually know otherwise?

It does seem a rather curious marketing move that they ran wall-to-wall trailers for the Summer Bay Sexiest run which was just a schedule filler until they'd got far enough behind Australia to really annoy everyone, yet what was presumably meant to be an ongoing run wasn't pushed at all.I remember back in 2007 the first I heard about it was at the end of the Channel 5 episode the previous Friday.Ironically, this run may well have been scuppered by the decision to start it at a time when they weren't showing any new episodes...

Anyway.Trying to ignore the fact that we're seeing the start of storylines that aren't going to be concluded and just enjoying the episodes in context. There's some great characterisation of Brodie during this period with her over-emotional state and uncertainty how to conduct herself in normal situations. Her look of fear when Rhys shouts at Dani was very realistic, shame they had to have her explain it to Kirsty rather than letting the viewer be intelligent enough to join the dots themselves.Seemed a rather odd reaction shot of Rhys and Shelley smiling placidly when she's on the verge of emotional breakdown, like it was moved from another part of the scene. The ending of the episode was brilliant, with Rhys giving Shelley that "You want to keep her, don't you?" look(he always seemed to get caught up in her crusades)and Brodie's overwhelmed reaction.Interesting that Dani's anger is directed towards Shelley and nice she did turn up for the opening.(Also good to see Alf finally put a few ghosts to rest.)More nice geeky behaviour from Jade. Not sure if Dani's straightened her hair between episodes but aside from some slightly heavy eye make-up she looks much as people remember. On the subject of style:Gypsy seems to be the only person since 1978 to wear flares.

Will spent an episode and a half treating everyone bar Dani like dirt, with Irene being way too subtle in telling him to pull in, so I'm glad he finally realised that Hayley and Nick have just lost their father and don't need him making things even more miserable for them. The scene between Nick and Will in the kitchen came across as very under-rehearsed, like neither Chris nor Zac had a clue what the other one was going to do and played it at completely different pitches(Nick's repeated "Get off!" didn't seem to be prompted by anything Will did).A shame, since that last scene on the beach showed just what they're capable of.

I remember being cross first time round that Gypsy and Harry went there. They spent ages insisting they were capable of just being friends and then...they weren't.Kind of makes anyone who was defending them look stupid.Still, it was well developed.Joel and Judith's teething problems were realistic although it's slightly worrying that Joel didn't think anything of talking about Natalie all the time.Would he really have had his wedding ring on for twenty years, as was implied?Even when he's in bed?Even when he's doing the washing up?

To be honest, I'm not surprised, I'm disappointed though as I am not really enjoying the main show, especially now with Sid gone.

I watch Archer and 5* started the new series over a month ago, they put it on at about 11pm, then since the first episode they have moved it to a different channel (which confused me and made me nearly miss it), put it on at around 2:30am, took a break for a week here and there, are the showing the episodes in the wrong order and haven't advertised it at all. Someone emailed them asking what on earth they were doing and they got a reply saying that since the first episode they showed (which wasn't advertised) didn't get the viewers they wanted, they moved it..

If it wasn't for me lurking on here I wouldn't have known that they were even showing the Early Years, There were no adverts for it and on my Sky guide it just says 'Home and Away', so I would have assumed it was just repeats of the normal episodes. It would have been better if it had said 'Early Years: Home and Away' and it's crazy that they weren't advertising it, they got a promotion with the Braxtons going on after the end of the normal episodes, the Braxtons may not be in the Early Years, but if they go all out with promotion on the main show, why not the Early Years?

Now I will never know what happens with Gavin and Shauna, can anyone (in spoiler tags, just incase others don't want to know) tell me where this storyline was going? I kind of remember him, but not what happened.
