They can't expect people to watch something if it's not advertised

Someone replied to our story on Twitter to say they didn't even know they were being shown, all they'd seen was the stuff about Summer Bay's Sexiest.

I'm sure Cowboy Builders repeats will bring so many more viewers flocking in.....

I'm sure cowboy builders will be their heigh rating show .!!! Not.... I have come to the conclusion channel 5 is useless they don't deserve the rights to home & away they don't treat it we'll enough at all

But who should get it? It's too lowbrow for the BBC, Channel 4 would treat it like rubbish and aren't gonna evict The Simpsons from their slot and ITV if they regained it, would only hack the show up worse than they did in the 90s to the point where its completely unwatchable.

I don't know who should get it maybe living or sky one both channels brought rights to imports in the parts and showed them in their intirerty and showed repeats years later as their shows come to an end. Or a channel like TLC not. A popular channel I would have thought and eprather new but they seem an ok channel , I dunno what the answer is to this problem all I don know if that channel five don't seem to know what they are doing which is a real shame, and when we go on our summer break next year they will do exactly the same things again

None of those channels are available free to air though, so you're cutting out a huge chunk of viewers already.

It's pretty academic in any case, as Channel 5's agreement when they first bought the transmission rights ensures that they will air the show for as long as it exists. Though to be fair, compared to ITV they treat the current show well (summer break and repeat controversies aside).

Now I will never know what happens with Gavin and Shauna, can anyone (in spoiler tags, just incase others don't want to know) tell me where this storyline was going? I kind of remember him, but not what happened.

Just to torture everyone, I looked up how far we're going to get and realised that 2909, the last episode they're going to show, ends on a massive cliffhanger which is a big twist in this storyline.I'll let everyone know when we get there, the storyline concludes in episode 2921 and there's full summaries for most of the episodes between now and then on BTTB.

And yes, Channel 5 has no idea about scheduling.I just about managed to follow The Lying Game on its journey through different timeslots and channels with very little attempt to alert the audience, ended up watching the whole of Season 2 on Demand 5 because there can't have been a person alive who could have watched it when it was on.

(Although as Dan says, at least with regards the current episodes, Channel 5 have been pretty good to HA.)

Demand 5 need to sort themselves out too. The adverts are always in the wrong place and its terrible for just stopping.

Finally joined this forum seeing as I read it a lot I thought I might as well get involved. Always enjoy your comments RedRanger.

I am very disappointed channel 5 are stopping these repeats :( I actually prefer these to the current episodes. Was nice while they lasted though, only saw a few when they aired in 2007 because of college at the time. Was looking forward to seeing the rest of 2000 and going beyond where they were left at Christmas 2007.

@RedRanger1 Yes I think Joel would have kept his wedding ring on the whole time for 20 years, as this is the tradition with wedding rings. My mum has kept hers on (and cannot now remove it) since my parents married in 1981 (dad would have done too but it was taken off when he had a spell in hospital a few years ago and he now needs to occasionally remove it for health reasons). Wedding rings are traditionally a plain band of a non-reactive metal such as gold or platinum so that they can be worn all the time.

Ok I just got up to the episode in which Ken dies. Very sad. I'm looking forward to watching the aftermath.

In regards to Colleen, I actually think this was when she was at her best. I really like that hot temper of her's which they definitely got rid of from the mid-00's onwards. She's just got a lot more character than she ever had in the later years.

I really like the underscoring used during this season. It's really well composed and perfectly placed.

I think the overall characterization is really strong and consistent. It's the major difference between the show back then and the way it is now. I honestly think if the show in 2013 was written the same way as it was in 2000, but with all the 2013 bells and whistles (the visual production standards etc.) and the odd PG rated episode for heightened drama and grit, it would be extremely well received by all.

2000 actually feels more fast paced than the current format and yet they still mange to make it more character driven and emotionally engaging.

Fair enough.Pretty sure my mum takes her off(my parents have been married since 1976), dad's never worn one(men-wearing-jewellery issues), but I suppose it's different for different people. And welcome to the forum, Jamie, I appreciate the appreciation.

Well, Will not turning up to their date is presumably going to set Dani right back with her princess behaviour. It's her own fault for not taking his call when the date was salvageable, Jade should have refused to lie for her. That said, Dani's got a point about Brodie not helping out, she seems to have crossed the line from guest into permanent fixture.Hayley seriously crossed the line by trying to sabotage Mitch and Brodie's relationship.More gems from Rhys.("I'm going in the bath.If you don't hear from me in half an hour, call an ambulance.")

Gypsy's self-flagellation about the fact she's no longer 100% innocent makes me feel better about it and her drawing a heart and then hastily rubbing it out when Harry appeared was kinda cute. The ending was a bit much though:Yes, she's got a reputation. We get that now.Interesting that Shauna's possibly the first person, except maybe Hayley, to actually approve of them being a couple.

And Don learning that there's more things in heaven and earth.(Tempted to make bitter comment here.Resisting.)
