Are the current producers ruining Home and Away?

Just me but I find Neighbours atm quite boring. Its consistent but predictable. While H and A ain't perfect. Ala Crime Driven stories route etc. I feel it has an edge. And the backdrop is more appealing. I think the show needs more balance between danger. And normal ppl living life. And portraying Aussie life more. Being a kiwi.the Aussie life style always appealed me. Overall shows in right direction. But still needs work.

The problem with the show is that the storyliners and perhaps the writers have forgotten that drama, shock and awe can be created through words rather than actions - i.e. Sophie calls Pippa a bitch vs. Brax in a car chase

I think they are watching too much fast and furious lol. But yeah balance in drama is an issue. But its gotten far better. Skye and Mum storyline good example. Creating drama through word's.

H&A has its flaws but I always feel it has never been afraid to reinvent itself a lot, go the extra mile. H&A has always kept its production values and sets up to scratch, etc, and always had a edge to it, whereas Neighbours never seems to move on, apart from a  few LGBT characters, you could be watching a show set in the 1990s whereas H&A is very 2016 in terms of sets, fashion etc. They need to have a few LGBT characters thats all, and cut down on the crime.

Home and away has always beeen more innovative yes. More edge too. I like Neighbours. But I prefer the lifestyle and culture in h and a. Neighbour's is kinda boring atm. H and a is actually watchable. Like one Said you dont need to crime, or car chases to create drama. Simple words can create it.

I cannot see a marked improvement until Lucy leaves as producer, which could be some time as Julie McGuaran was at the helm for about 6 years and Cameron Welsh 5 years, and Russell Webb about 7 years. Before the Xmas break H&A was really starting to rise like a phoenix from the ashes but since its UK pace return in January 2016 the wheels have come off again, back to the same old lives hanging in the balance, drug wars and psycho teens.

Home and Away lost it's touch in 2011, when the Braxton's arrived. Since then, the Braxtons have been hard to get rid of, when Casey died and Heath left, I was like "two down, one to go", though we have some more problematic characters mixed in with the Braxtons, Ricky and Ash, so I am hoping that something happens (storm, earthquake, mudslide) which will wipe them out, I mean, we lost Michael in a flood, can we please lose a Braxton? What I would like to see is an old character return, for good. Though, Lucy and Louise barely even consider them.

I still very casually watch H&A now, if I start to watch an episode and within a minute get the same old doom and gloom storyline and very monotonic, forgettable and grating underscore music I then switch over. I watch Neighbours religiously. I wish I could say that about H&A again.

Ah the days of Lance and Martin, Shane and Damo, 4 great examples of pranksters, and troubled teens who needed love and guidance. That is proper H&A.

Im watching in Nz pace. Which is like four eps behind. No.Spoilers heh. It's better ill say.I.thought 2013-2014 was just unwatchable. Too harsh music, the tone. Since latter half way 2015. New sets etc. Feels 2016. Ed Sherran performing felt like old H and A. Now crime wise still exists because of the Braxton left overs. And it may still exist post Brax. But I think. They are heading in.the right direction. Best change in the show is the established teen groups. I loved Mattie, Ric, Cassie, Belle, Lucas etc. Kirsty, Jade, Nick, Etc. Kim, Tash, Robbie. Now with Josh, Matt, Maddie, Evie, Oscar etc. Its returning. I.think the foster aspect too. Since Spencer and Maddie hit the scene. Has brought bk the fundamentals. I still think theirs way too much crime. These are every day ppl. You dont need drama through crime or violence. Just simple words can create such a big effect.
