Are the current producers ruining Home and Away?

I can easily see Zak and Leah as the new Tom and Pippa, or Michael and Pippa. Much better than Braxton Bay, the gang going around acting like The Kray Twins (distant rellies of mine actually). It is such a blow that Dan Bennett left so soon, and we dont even know who is replacing him, and what with Lucy at the helm, we may see a 2011-2015 style return once he is gone unless she leaves.

It doesn't say anywhere in that article that he was let go.

He does have some interesting comments to say though, it sounds like Neighbours is a friendlier place to work these days.

Considering they are his current employers it might be good politics for him to say that.

True, also, perhaps more likely, he might be resentful if he was indeed let go from Home and Away.

But when it comes to being let go from TV shows, actors normally understand TPTB have their reasons, and it's not because of them misbehaving on set or because it's something personal.

Charlie Clausen has said in Inside Soap that he sees Zac & Leah becoming the next Tom & Pippa, with an endless cycle of kids coming through the house, which would be nice to see some stability to Summer Bay House - it's nice that he seems committed to the show too.

This is the only way they can redeem the show. It faces axing within the next two years if they don't go back to its roots.

How do you know the show would be axed within 2 years if that Zac and Leah thing didn't happen?

A show isn't axed because it ventures away from its roots. Viewership plays a large part in the cancellation of a series, and dwindling ratings are not something the network executives need worry about... ^_^

I don't agree with the proposition that the show has strayed from its roots.  I feel the show just takes an updated approach to its roots.  It's just moved with the times.
