Are the current producers ruining Home and Away?

I still haven't watched Alf's storyline so I can't comment on it yet. Thing is I've got to be in the right mood to give the current H&A a go and I'm hardly ever in that mood. Every time I've tuned back in I've been bored so I just keep on putting it off because I don't have much faith in the show anymore, especially if Alf's storyline is just a one off/few episodes and then it's back to being boring as usual - I just feel like 'what's the point?'.

I'm in exactly the same position Alexx. I watched the week of episodes 6171-6175, and 6174 and particularly 6175 give a surprising amount of focus to Alf's storyline.

Unfortunately the quality of the dialogue is still pitiful, the other storylines are unbelievably dull, as are 60% of the cast.

I was encouraged overall by the episodes and swore I would watch the next couple of weeks, but nothing is driving me to do it. I'll catch up with it at some point.

Hopefully it wont be long before we see Dan Bennett's names on the credits as script editor. I still sporadically watch about once a week but it is usually the same old same old Braxton revenge plot, old enemy turning up, drugs bust between Brax and old enemies, Braxtons being banged up and getting into fights in prison. Lucy Addario has to be the worst soap producer in Aussie soap history. SuBo coming second.

I haven't really tuned into the show this year. A few weeks ago I decided to give it another chance if within the first 2 minutes of the show they did not mention Brax, have violence, crime or drugs. Sadly within the first 10 seconds, it was another Braxton drama. I turned it off.

Yesterday I decided to watch another episode. Same deal. Yeah not going to bother watching it. I am over the crime, violence and the braxton dramas. This show has not changed. It's still boring and unrealistic. This is meant to be a family show, not a crime drama.

In my opinion the Anzac Day Commemoration storyline has been excellent. I won't say too much about it or you will be spoiled if you decide to watch it. I hope you do.

Alf plays a major part and many of the other cast members including the younger cast play a part as well. The storyline has a real community feel.

Yeah, i thought it was done really well too.

From what i had read/seen in promos, i was expecting something similar to the 2005 ANZAC stoyline .........and whillst there is echos of that, they've approached these commermorations with a beautifully grander scale.

Thanks John and JosieTash :). Will watch it when it airs in the UK. Unfortunately I may have to wait till June/July but it will be worth it. Thanks again :)

For anyone who is interested, as of Episode 6216 (15th June 2015), Dan Bennett takes over as Script Producer ^_^

Thanks for the info Matt :) .

Is that correct, Dan Bennett is going to become Script Producer, taking over from Gary Sewell? Or will he become Series Script Executive taking over from Louise Bowes?

This gives me a timeline of when to start watching again!
