End of an era today - the last teatime outing for Home and Away, ending a 32 year tradition.  Arguably longer if you count the BBC starting it with Neighbours; originally slated for lunchtime only, controller Michael Grade's teenage daughter persuaded him that a teatime repeat was needed as kids were bunking off school to watch it!

Home and Away UK fans will soon be away from Summer Bay for six whole weeks.

Channel 5 has confirmed that the Australian soap is airing its final episode of the year on Monday, November 22 at 12.30pm, although those who choose the 5STAR first-look option can watch it on Friday, November 19 at 6.30pm.

So the lunchtime airings will be back in sync from 2022.  Is the earlier time now permanent?

The lunchtime showings are at the same time they've always been? (Or the same time they've been for years anyway. It might have been different pre-2007 or something.)

They were originally 12:30, when the lunchtime was the repeat.  Moved to 2:15/1:15 when Neighbours came over.  I see the Christmas finale is going out at 12:30 though.

It suddenly struck me that it used to be 2.15, don't know when that changed, around 2011 maybe? I didn't realise the Christmas finale was on earlier.(We've got schedules for 22nd November?) Without looking, I suspect they've got their schedule for the week set up, probably including a lot of out-of-season Christmas movies and re-runs of Friends, so they've moved HA to the most convenient slot for that week. (What time is Neighbours on then, 1.00?) I guess we'll see what happens when the show comes back next year, I suspect it'll revert to the usual slot.

Do we have any figures since the changes?

Won't have them until a week Monday. The official figures allow for +7 day catch up.

I'm currently behind a couple of weeks owing to being on holiday so not seen any TV. Has there been any of this advertising campaign they said there would be? Lols

i haven't seen any actual trailers with the new times, but then I don't watch television much so they might be bombarding people with them when I'm not looking! We have got the to-camera bumpers with (some of) the new times.

There haven't been any promos however at the end of every broadcast episode on Channel 5 for the last few weeks after the next episode promo and before the closing credits, cast members have been promoting the new schedule.

The cast have been doing it on rotation.

Heads up Home and Away fans, Home and Away is on at 1.15pm on Channel 5, or, you can catch the first look episode at 6.30pm on 5STAR.

And then they repeat that again. No mention of the 6pm showing on 5STAR though.

I just saw these by chance on a day off work. I stopped watching broadcast episodes months ago and switched to on demand.
