No but unfortunately, alot of people like myself don't have access to streaming, I'm aware that to the majority that might seem 'old fashioned' but in our case it's practicality) and it's sad that a good chunk of viewers would be ignored. Particular as Ben Frow's idea of entertainment seems to be dog poo documentaries and people going around like unspayed cats.

Re: Life of show' - style contract, I don't know if I'm allowed to say or not but when I mentioned this to someone regarding it's standing in comparison to Neighbours Shane Witherington (John) replied there was no such contract?

Also I believe Ch5 fund 50% of H&A's cost but I'm not entirely certain.

Watch this space indeed.

I for sure don't regard it as old fashioned. I still watch broadcast TV, it's my to go to place for shows, or I record and watch at a later time. Of course there are a few shows that I watch via prime or netflix but that's a small amount of shows and if they aired on regular television I would watch these on there and have done. As for Home and Away, I have watched via on demand now since the 6pm airing was dropped. This I used to record and watch at 7pm and due to my work schedule it's two episodes one day and three the next. I just can't bring myself to record the 1.15pm airing. Don't ask me why. Because it is the same I guess. I don't record it on 5STAR as it's not HD.

Ben Frow sure does have a ridiculous vision of what viewers want to watch but somehow these types of shows do pull in the ratings. Each to their own ( lol )

It's 21 years ago today that Channel 5 aired episode 2841, beginning their run of the show, although they did air a Home and Away Special on Sunday 15th July 2001 as an introduction.

And it really does not feel that long at all.

100%. It doesn't need Channel five to continue like Neighbours did.

Yeah but where would it go in the UK? . ITV wouldn't touch it again and the Beeb would insist some CHANGES (ones a lot people wouldn'tkike(. C4 but even they're picky.

As for Channel 5 themselves, As long as it involves the four Bs, Benefits, Baliffs, Burglars and Battering rams, they DON'T care about anything else.

The key difference is Channel 5 are paying Seven nowhere near what they've been paying Fremantle.  So even though they can't sell the slots for as much as they do with Neighbours, overall they can make money on the show.

Also confirmed is that the evening showing isn't going back to 6pm.

I get the impression Ben Frow wants shot of Home & Away, but can't get rid of it entirely on the main channel.  I suppose it fills half an hour at lunchtime and it's cheap fodder for 5 Star.

I guess in answer to all of these it's for sure staying on the Five platform however, whilst I can't see any reason for it to move from 5STAR, it may be that it becomes a stream only show via on demand. But watch this space I guess.
