With my sympathy vote for Maddy out of the way, I've got four yet to appear.And it occurs to me that none of them are current characters...

Just catching up with the results so far.... Some places in my opinion deserved and some not so....

Red Ranger 1 really enjoying the character profiles so far and also pleased to say that my Top 5 have not yet been announced and again not a current cast member among them...!!

We're getting there! Only 5 days to go before we reveal the Top 3 on Christmas Eve - today another good mix of characters that placed between 30-39, scoring 10-13 points.

I realise that putting Noah & Peter one after the other wasn't done to make me swoon and giggle about how pretty they are and how much I love them but it did so be proud.

There weren't to many surprises there though I'm surprised Michael hasn't scored for years and April hasn't scored at all even though she only left last year.

I think most of the characters in that batch were favourites of mine during their time on the show except Michael who died when I was fairly young.I only voted for my boys though.

I am surprised to see John quite low down and Sophie quite high up ( I love Red Rangers comment about a sigh of relief about her leaving recently- I had a party!!).

I am not surprised to see Michael and Shane here- both have had a lot of recent exposure on 7two and I would be surprised if Shane beats Angel in the 2016 poll.

As for Melissa George- I bet she is on the phone to her lawyers right now complaining about it .

I am a little surprised about April not scoring but when Nicole scored poorly I had a feeling that Angelo was going to fare much worse!!

Great to see Ric's position on the most popular character leaderboard increase by 11 spots! I think I may have voted for him or was very close to voting for him but I honestly can't remember now. He was one of my favourites of the mid-2000s and I think his exit was great and came at the right time when the character was becoming a little stale. I hope we see him back some day to visit Alf alongside Mattie.

Amazing how Peter Baker's spot increased considering he hasn't been seen for seven years but I do like the fact that he's popular as I thought he was a great character even though he was a useless detective

Generally these are all a very good list of characters apart from Sophie as we know from the recent Early Years episodes with her constant whining and bratty behaviour.

Nice to see Selina, Shane, John, Michael and Noah all feature on this list!

April not being on the list doesn't surprise me! I couldn't stand her and Angelo is long forgotten now even though he was a part of a huge storyline in 2008-2009 by shooting Jack Holden and investigating Hugo for people smuggling in the long-running yearly storyline in 2009 and of course Brax now owns a restaurant which was started by Angelo and named after him as the original owner so the drop off is somewhat surprising in my opinion.

Roman and Miles were the two characters who were a part of the new cast makeup from 2008. I felt both were great characters in the making but the writing let them down in the end. Roman was gone far too soon for my liking!

Roman was great, definitely one of the greatest of his time and its a shame he left the show so soon. did the actor choose to leave or was he written out?

Behind the scenes, Roman's departure was a little bit.... complex and delicate, with Conrad's desire to head for Hollywood only being part of it. The only thing I can say is that TPTB of the time didn't write out good characters/actors if they had a choice in the matter.

I read that TPTB had written him out because the character had apparently 'run his course' so to speak! I found it surprising considering Roman wasn't even on the show for a full two years.

Michael was one of mine, so I've got three to go.Feel a bit guilty I never voted for him before...

Even at the time, no-one seemed to realise how long Hayley had been on the show.I remember when Chloe came back not only did someone write into Inside Soap asking how come she knew Hayley but the letters editor waffled about maybe they met off screen, leaving me shouting "They used to live together, you..."

Peta was on the show five months before Edward turned up, incidentally.

Yeah, I'm not talking about what was reported... I can't say any more than what I've already said though, only that it wasn't as one-sided as the reports suggested.

These polls aren't ever really that surprising when it comes to the top 5 or so.

Oh I don't know.... there were certainly some surprises for the staff this time around....

Yes, I guess it was delicate... and it was really questionable..

It was very officially at the time that Conrad Coleby was written out of the show against his will. He had no desire to go to Hollywood. Not every actor wants that... He made it really clear that he wanted to stay in Australia and he was written out of the show because the writers thought his character had run his course. And he also said that he was disappointed with the decision. I read it in the magazine scans section at that time, and also an article on dailytelegraph on net.

I think Conrad Coleby was written out because the writers thought that writing Angelo (Luke Jacobz) back into the show would create more hype and cause a stir. And there were a lot of characters in the 20's/30's at that time, so it was probably a question of priority. I think it was a shame, he had so much potential, was important for several other characters and had just started a great relationship with Leah.

Roman was one of my choices so I am happy to see him here, but I wish he was higher. A bit surprised that Miles isn't higher, though. I had the impression that he was more popular.

I am sorry to see several characters scoring so low, and pets and small guests characters and babies scoring higher... There are a lot of characters which deserves better.

I thought that Jett would have scored higher. But I wonder if he and Palmer would have placed higher a year ago. I think that they have gone stale together with Marilyn. Both he and John should be used for other storylines than the silly ones.

It is no surprise for me that Maddy is that low on the list, because she seems unpopular because of her behaviour. But I thought that Evie and Oscar would have placed higher though. But I like them all three, I find them a bit interesting and they are the best written characters (and played) at the moment.

Gina was really great in her last year or so. She was good with Palmer and her care for Jett gave her a new dimension.

I really liked Will, and was sad about how his return worked out.

Thanks for the list by the way!! Really great job Red Ranger1 and Dan F!! I really love to read this comments, even if I don't agree with them always. But the list reminds me about the characters I used to like and the ones I have forgotten about!!
