1994 Episode Discussion

Angel is being a righteous bitch at the moment. She ends it with Shane because of his "little boy games with Jack"??? The "maturity" crap is just getting a little bit tiresome. And this 40-hour famine thing, what's the big deal? Why does Shane have to be made to feel guilty about everything? If anything — Jack should be made to PAY for (trying to) wreck Shane and Angel's relationship.

Finally up to date Tuesday August 25th-Wednesday August 26th

Shane plays it cool after Don catches Jack in his bed.

Pippa grounds Jack for sneaking out.

Shane tries to get out of helping Angel with the 40 hour famine.

Jack talks softly when he runs into Don at the store.

Michael and Pippa decide to sell the boat shed.

Sarah has a big decision to make take Damian or Tug to the deb ball.

Jack admits he was the intruder to Angel.

Angel has a go at Shane for setting Jack up.

Angel ends it with Shane for now they will be back together by the end of the season though.

Tug saves the kittens that some guy was trying to sell in the diner then throws into the ocean.

You really don't need to summarise the episodes, the thread is for discussing the episodes - if you don't have any of your own views to add then you don't necessarily have to post.

Sorry Dan I try to watch and type but I end up repeating what the characters are saying maybe if I waited a few hrs or minutes after the show ends I may have a better views of my own.  I.e it was kind of cruel to try to drown the kittens because no one wanted to buy them.

Totally agree sorry about double post not sure how to merge with my previous post.

He's 15 and a short-arse wind-up merchant at worst. He is no REAL threat to Shane and Angel who are all but engaged at this time.  Joke was truly on him for thinking Angel would write him a note like that.

Besides, Jack or no Jack, they'd still have a lot of the same problems; Shane's childishness, Angel's Uptight streak, The Dylan stuff etc.

Anyhow, Caught up to 1460.

Alf and the Putter was the LAST thing he needed over the waterbed debacle. The Party scenes were hilarious, I totally remembers the charger oil being poured on Jack. I'm glad Tug is back to his old self, and How about Beth!   Bet Tristan Bancks was happy with those pool scenes. Tug and Luke being in each other's face all day would be tiresome for both parties

Glad Sarah and Angel made up, it was getting beyond childish.

Also, Selina's debut even though it was fleeting. It makes all the

 Stevo stuff

make PERFECT sense, she's always been attracted to older men in positions of Authority.

Talking of pool, The Saltwater pool near the Beach got some use this week. Tug/Beth, Angel/Sam/Jack. Last time before this was the Don/Patricia scenes, wasn't it?

I am quite actually liking the Pip/Jack/Sam dynamic, TBH. More so the Jack/Pippa part of it, it's time like this anyone'd have you believe they were parent and child. Sort of like the Tom/Frank dynamic of old.

Things are about to get a bit more grim with the Rosses' financial situation.

I don't see why they can't show hour episodes as all that 7two shows after is 4 hours of NBC morning show.

Show you think they could at least show 2 episodes are day!

Can't believe Pippa over half way thought her run and we almost half thought Ailsa run.

Hope they continue past 1994 as after 1994 it's not really Early Years anymore as we have new sets of the Surf Club and the Diner finally changes to a yellow wall.

I think we saw it in 1991 when Blake/Karen/Sophie/Haydn had that swimming comp storyline?(Maybe Haydn brought it back with him and left it behind.)

I'm also up to 1460.Wilson is getting pretty annoying in his baiting Shane so I was glad he got that oil over him, even though Shane could have saved himself a lot of trouble just by being honest about what he and Angel had got up to.Angel is actually oddly flirty towards Jack, I can only assume she doesn't know she's doing it.Mind you, Jack ends up quite successful with most other girls he takes an interest in: Pippa's comment about a trail of broken hearts isn't that far from the truth.Shane's expression during his light bulb moment and Angel's WTH? reaction was great, as was Damian briefly distracted by the mental image of what Jack's got to come. One plus is that since Shane became the main target of his pranks Jack seems to be more accepting of Michael.Sally seems to flip between acting like she's got a crush on Jack herself and acting like she'd want him to get with Angel(?!).

I also liked the Fin/Irene stuff.I started off thinking that Fin should have accepted Irene's gift in the spirit it was given, but in a sense taking it back and getting Irene what she wanted meant more to her.I wasn't expecting Irene's dress quest to actually get paid off although I've got a feeling I know where it's going with the deb ball coming up...

Angel and Sarah making up was a brilliantly natural moment: No big event, just them forgetting themselves for a moment as they slipped back into old habits.Michael seems to be getting more and more fraught.Nick taking out that putter was a big "Oh no!" moment.Tug stuck with a bikini-clad Beth: The guy's got no chance.

And ah yes, the rather low key debut of Miss Cook, which really does give no indication of her latest prominence.(She doesn't actually make it onto the opening titles until the start of 1995: People that haven't even appeared yet get added on before her!)

I think that's because she's originally a guest character, who leaves after she does her stint, but then due to popularity they bring her back as a main character (like Irene before her, or Chloe and Tiegan after her).
