1994 Episode Discussion

The gender/age thing is a double-standard. Agreed. The teacher-underage student thing is an issue. Agreed. (notwithstanding though but just as a sidepoint, Beth wasn't acting predatory towards Tug, if anything, she was trying to stop it. Perhaps the closest thing resembling something shady was the swimming lessons. That is my honest opinion and I won't push it further).

However. As for the question of pregnancy.......

I would have thought it was obvious. No, it still has to be explained.......

The reason why it is not OK if the girl gets pregnant (particularly if it is unplanned, in haste and before the relationship had time to develop. I mean a couple of weeks? Come on!!!!) is because the baby is a liability that lasts for life (unless the girl chooses to have an abortion, which in the show they never do).

It wouldn't be a good start to the baby's life if the parents aren't likely to stay together forever by their own free will, is it? And it is hardly likely unless the relationship has developed properly I mean it is not much better than marrying something after one blind date is it?

It is pretty naive to believe Sophie and David would stay together for life and "live happily ever after" after just a couple of weeks? No?

That is why pregnancy is not OK under those circumstances.

I'm sorry this hasn't been explained properly, I hope the logic is a little clearer now.

The puppy is so cute.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but Belinda in todays episode was Kym Valentine Libby from Neighbours. She must of done it just before she started on Neighbours because the Kennedys arrived on Neighbours in 94 I also remember in a couple of 93 episodes Benji McNair who play Mal Kennedy in Neighbours was a boy who liked Sarah.

Old H&A Fan: The lessons were technically off-the-clock and there was nothing untoward, though I think Tug may have delayed getting out of the water, if you catch my drift.

The show's first abortion didn't happen until 2007

witth the Martha/Ash stuff

. And if you were watching in 2003 you probably did your nut when

Sophie was pregnant again with two kids no less, hers and Blake's (which was named after you-know-who) and the surrogate child she was carrying for Sal and Flynn

dncllpyk:

Although, I haven't seen this weeks, I still have a 3/5 of last weeks to get through but know about KV's H&A appearence, this must have been at least 3-4 months before she started filming for Neighbours. This was her 2nd TV role after playing Lisa... Kennedy! [smile] in the failed Aussie Sitcom "My Two Wives" (Only ever saw the reruns on Carlton Select)

And let's not forget Brett Blewitt (who also worked with Valentine on MTW, and Neighbours) played "Doubting Thomas" the Year before, some YR11 guy who was knew about Shane's (failed) Jump attempt.

The puppy is so cute.

liked that Nick covered for Shane.

Angel you still care about Shane but you say you don't love him which I think is bull.

seven made a mistake and uploaded two early years episodes on Plus7 today one being tomorrow's episode which hasn't aired yet.

I didn't get to watch yesterdays episode because we had a power blackout all day and it interrupted recording.

But the puppy Jack got was adorable and Sam wanting things as usual but he redeemed himself when he decided to grow some vegies. Hope he becomes a bit more mature now.

I only vaguely remember Beth from watching this back in the day when it first aired, but she's by far my favourite character at the moment.

Shame she's only got about another few weeks before she leaves again

Nice surprise seeing Kym Valentine appear - hopefully we'll get a few more of these cameos from future stars as time goes on. Personally I hope they're still re-showing the old episodes when Heath Ledger has a recurring role, but don't think that's until 97.

Poor Irene coping the blame.

I agree with Damian Jack should tell Alf it was his fault even if it's something like I left my puppy in the store and he made a mess I'm sorry but I somehow doubt that will happen

Oh no Sarah had Alf excited only to find out Roxy choose Don to host the Deb ball  poor Alf :(

Finlay departs in tomorrow's episode [\spoiler]

Fin does get a moderately decent send-off with the Fletcher theme, no less.

I'm still under the feeling the Haydn plot was a way to make sure they didn't lose Tina too quickly.

Aftershave was just so cute, he stole the episode :P so i forgive him for making such a mess. Its Jack's own fault for leaving a puppy alone. the boy gets in one strife after.

Jack pelting Alf with eggs and flour was so funny. And Alf made a big assumption that he was going to be asked as a guest for the deb ball. It makes sense to ask the school principal. And poor Irene for copping the blame. Hope Jack mans up and admits his mistake.
