In 1988-1990 Donald seemed much more chirpier and edgier, he was a bit of a JR type figure in 1988, if he hated someone he would use tactics to get rid of them. And he was good at insulting people such as calling Tom a pen pusher in the army. Dressing as a punk in 1989 was his best ever moment, in 1994, I could not imagine him doing that. He was much more serious and grounded by the time there episodes were originally aired.

Yes, in 1994, the most evil thing I remember was Shane driving into Alf's wall by accident then driving off, and no one else was hurt, and even Shane just had a bruise or 2. In 2015 H&A people drive into someone on purpose. Love triangles end up with someone being killed. I think 2005 was when the H&A of today started to take shape.

Yes, Donald, mean to Luke and Year 12, what has crawled in his pants and died?

2004, with the SBS stalker and the gunplay element is where modern H&A took shape, IMO.

It's well documented in the early going that Don was a bit of a douche. The first real bit of humanity we saw out of him was him telling Bobby to basically "Get your **** together!" after Frank's accident and her trying to flee. I think deep down he knew Bobby was his daughter to a degree but didn't want to accept it at first.

What woman would want to marry an ugly ape like Rob? Someone as devoid of taste as Carly, who married Ben (an equally ugly ape) at the drop of at hat. Scumbag "hero" wannabe type

Well, There's no accounting for taste!

yes bye Luke, left without much fanfare.

Yeah, Luke will soon be forgotten. I guess he didn't meet Andrew Howie's hopes for the character.

Pity they lost that netball game, would have been nice to win just one to boost their self esteem a little

Irene is entertaining, she just portrays the image of aussie "shiela" with the way she dresses and talks in slang (struth!:D), wonder what the overseas viewers think of her.  Between her and Jack they keep things interesting.

I also like Ailsas new hairdo, so much better then the old one. none of them seem to change hairstyles very often.  Pippas is always the same, Angel is permanently in plaits, and sarah with the straight hair and fringe.  The guys are always the same too, the shane long on top and short underneath basin cut, damo's short back and sides, and tugs swept back look.

I know lots of people who stick to the same hairstyles, and why not, if you are happy with a certain hairstyle. I loved Angel's hairdo.

Tug's has changed. It was short and spikey at first, now it's long and floppy.

Hulk - I don't think Donald knew deep down Bobby was his daughter. If he did suspect surely he'd have some questions like who the mother was, and remember nobody knew Morag had ever been preggers. Or do you just mean he subconsciously felt a connection to Bobby? I think that could be true and it's part of the reason the paternity story in 1989 works so well, because they'd always had that complex relationship. It would have been nice for Bobby to be mentioned during Rebecca's trip. IIRC I always waited for her to mention Bobby during the Belinda years and she never did it then either.

Seen up to 1510, so I'm about a fortnight behind. The Don/Rebecca storyline has been a bit repetitive, which even the characters seem to comment on.I could have sworn there was a mention of Bobby from the first time I saw this, must be the next time she turns up.It's interesting though that the show chose to have Don's dogmatic and occasionally vindictive behaviour towards Luke and Rebecca play out at the same time as his supporting Shane and Angel's relationship.Hypocritical maybe, but it also shows he's a complex character and always has been.(Yes, even in the first 50 episodes.)As for Shangel's trip away, it managed to be incredibly sweet despite the persistent drama. So, onto the next stage...

Sally in scenes with Angel! Sally in scenes with everyone! Mind you, her being a member of the netball team just seemed to come out of nowhere, after weeks of practise sessions where she was nowhere to be seen. The whole thing's starting to grate a bit, with Irene, Roxy and Sarah all coming across as annoying.Meanwhile, more mentions of Matthew and, even though the focus is mainly on Tug and Sarah's friendship, I'm willing to take the little Darah moment where he holds her hand after she's learned of Matthew's heart attack.

Pippa running the Diner! Suddenly her 2009 stint doesn't seem so ignorant.Anyone else spot the photo of Emma on the board in the Diner kitchen? It's probably been there about 4 years, it just suddenly sprang out at me.Not a surprise that the graffiti was done by the non-regular practically holding up a neon sign, but it showed some smarts from Jack and has set up a delicious double act between him and Alf.

Rob Storey! I wasn't expecting him just yet, I didn't realise he and Luke crossed over.(Since he's basically Luke's replacement.)He's probably been forgotten even more than Mr Cunningham but on the basis of his first two episodes he seems essentially affable and likable, and with a fairly good head on his shoulders.

Spoiler

Looking ahead a bit, I believe we meet his ex-fiancé towards the end of the season...

Roxy puts her foot in it thinking Rob was making the stuff up about his mum being in a wheelchair.

Rob's bet with Alf seemed to work out as I believe Roxy apologises to Rob can't remember if she agreed to go out with him though.

Angel thinking Shane is going to back out of the engagement after Alf mentioned Rob's didn't last more then two weeks.

ironic that Irene is now coach and Roxy is manager which IMO is the way it should of been.

I quite like rob too.....so far.  He is right, Roxy is coming across as quite stuck up.  She is the one who went goggle eyed over him when she first saw him at the diner.....a bit of a challenge ahead for him to win her over.

more tension ahead on the netball courts with the coaching saga.

LOL @ Miss Irena doing the clairvoyant thing:D  Her client (the old guy) looked familiar to me from other shows?

seems now that the teens are 18, I notice they are going out more and looking a bit seedy the morning after, tug must of made the most of his date and got lucky haha :P

naughty Sam, starting a bit young!

trouble in paradise yet again for Shane and Angel.  If they are already fighting that early on about things like that, you wonder how they manage to sort anything out!

Looks like Roxy and Rob is going to be yet another painfully drawn out romance, just get together already! (do they end up getting together?? can't remember)

What are they fighting about? Jumping at shadows because of Rob's failed relationship with Donna because they went their separate ways (ie. university, career etc.) and Angel "might in the future" go to university.

More hysteria over so-called sex education after Samantha is found out for calling 0055 sex lines. Issue seems to be not so much the cost — Pippa carrying on telling Samantha if she has any questions to talk to her and Michael about it. Grossly unfair that Jack has to give up the phone because Samantha has been abusing it.

Pippa's condescending attitude to Rob and Alf placing bets on Roxy. Stinks to high hell. ?
