1994 Episode Discussion

I am pretty sure toddlers were allowed to have just booster seats back then, babies had capsules, laws not as strict as they are these days regarding child car restraints.

roxys bitchy attitude towards rob is getting a bit tiring, as is angels berating Shane when the poor guy is doing his best with Dylan.  She keeps giving him a hard time, when she is not mother of the year award material herself.  A lot of 18 year old guys would run a mile from the responsibility of fatherhood

havnt seen Sam for yonks.

i also find it strange how the kids change surnames without anything formal in place.  I always thought there had to be a legal adoption for this to happen, not generally in a fostering arrangement.

the carry on between Irene and the other netball coach was quite funny.  The other coach was rough as guts, gave Irene a run for her money lol

will be glad to see Sarah's dad go, I think tug will enjoy a job on the farm.  Getting closer to some regulars leaving, will be sad to see them go.

I have only started watching the early years over the past few weeks and I love them! I first started watching the show back then so Shane Angel tug etc were my first teen gang. You can see how the show was a lot simpler back then. The storylines were more realistic! A lot of the cliffhangers were basic and I couldn't imagine them in today's show. For example jack swapping the hamper and the cliffhanger being alfs reaction. You can also see the characters are very different. For example I can't imagine today's Irene doing all those sit ups! I love the old feel of the show though and 1994 was a great time. Can't wait for Shannon Curtis Chloe etc!

It is also interesting seeing some of these characters who were on the show for ages and seeing how different they were. Sam is a great example as he was very young back then but as he got older he changed. Duncan totally changed when he was recast. Even Alf and Irene seem slightly different. Alf back then seems more like a simple family man who runs the store. Although he has family now he seems a bit more complex.

Finally caught up I can't remember much from end of last week Wednesday-Friday.

glad Selina decided to  stay with Irene and it was nice to see her bonding with Angel.

Oh no Jack's breeding mice got lose in the diner.

Silly  mr Stewart just go to the doctor for your toe it will be a much better option then hoping it will heal on its own .

Roxy and Rob  bickering on there attempted second date was really something.

Spoiler

On  Wednesday Tug leaves so I guess he decided to take Matthew up on his job offer. And on Christmas Day Angel's sister Frankie arrives.

I do find Jack an annoying character - with his arrogance and pathological lying, at which he is totally useless as he *always* gets found out.  You would think he would have realised that by now.

So Tug left in todays episode. I wish they focused on his exit more I wish they showed him leaving at the end of the episode rather than Jack throwing a little tantrum because he didn't want to be the diet anymore and Sam and Jack fighting over the roast potatoes

Roxy annoys me why does she have to be the one to make the first move? If I was Rob I would of walked a long time ago,

tug saying goodbye to sarah was a bit of a tear jerker:(. they obviously still had feelings for eachother, kinda wished they had both gone back to the farm.  I have grown to like Tug over the past year since he matured, used to find him rather annoying before that.  the attempted suicide seemed to be a turning point in his life with a major attitude change.  I would have liked to see him leave at the end of the episode as well.

the diet storyline is being dragged out a bit....seriously how much rabbit food and rice cakes can one person take!

Christopher made a rare appearance today, both Duncan and he don't seem to feature very often, even at meal times and in the family homes.  I often wonder who is looking after them while Alf, Ailsa, Pippa and Michael are working/busy?

Same thing was being asked 10 years later with who was looking after Leah and Sally's kids.

They were always really good with Pippa & VJ as they'd mention Colleen or Madge looking after them or in VJ's case Stella as well.

With Chris he'd sometimes be shown eating before the rest of the family, then taken off for a bath/to bed, so I assume the times he wasn't at the dinner table he'd already eaten, but it was a bit hit and miss.
